I dont think Joey or Denzel are that underrated anymore. They used to be when they were first coming up (and they are still underrated but not like Mick, Saba, Smino, etc.). J.I.D is getting recognition too so I might not put him on this list anymore either. I like all these artist btw and I'm not bashing any of them, just saying some are getting solid recognition and they aren't as underrated as the ones who are still completely slept on.
Hey G & R, one of your metal subs here. I just want to thank y’all for breaking stuff like this down. I don’t know much about hip hop and having someone explain what‘s “good” and why is super useful and welcome. Thanks for being awesome!
I'm a Metalhead with a B.A. in English. I wish I had this man as my muse in those poetry classes I had to take. I may not be up on all of the terminology he used, but with your explanations, I got it. Very intelligent writing. Very intelligent reacting.
I commented on this video 4 years ago, how did this video only have 70k views? People gotta respect Mick Jenkins way more. "Say we can't make them drink the water I don't know if we can lead 'em to it" this is how it feels like even with this videos views.
Never heard this guy before, absolutely blown away by this, loved it. Good job gentlemen, keep em coming. I’m just an old metal head from Belfast Northern Ireland who loves his hip hop right now!! 🤘✊💥
I never would have listened to something like this before your channel, just being honest, but the way yall approach music, has indeed opened my mind to give other types of music a chance. I have found a new appreciation for music that is not normally my style. A new way of looking/listening to it. It may not make my "playlist", but I get it now. Thanks guys.
Ive been watching your reactions mainly metal and rock. Im glad I listened to this. You guys are free thinkers, you inspire me to be a free thinker. Thank you guys. I really enjoyed this.
It would be cool if you guys do an Ab-Soul reaction since you guys haven’t done one yet. I recommend “Invocation”, “Ab-Soul’s Outro”, Pineal Gland, or “RAW Backwards.”
Got to see Mick in Spain last year, huge fan here from Ireland. Could we please get a reaction of 'Mick Jenkins ft. BADBADNOTGOOD - Drowning' . Great song and the video is a work of art.
I never knew Mick Jenkins was underground, all my high school friends listened to him, and I'm from a Suburb of Minnesota so not necessarily the epicenter of rap culture
Great video guys! I’m a pretty avid hip-hop/rap listener, and Mick Jenkins has always been a favorite. Keep promoting guys like Cole, JID, Mick, Nick Grant, so much talent that has yet to be seen
I think busy/sirens would be best since the whole album is good, but it is a really good introduction to SABA since it's a really complete song, plus he really snaps on it.
I usually watch your videos for the metal stuff but I used to be a hip hop guy too. I feel like I have to say thank you for uncovering this gem. I didn't hear such high quality stuff for a long long time. Keep it up! Love you guys!
Saba came out with the clear album of the year to me in “Care For Me” so far and one of the best story telling tracks I’ve ever heard in “Prom//King” so I definitely recommend literally every track from that album. It’s only 10 tracks and it def deserves it so an album reaction would be perfect but even a reaction to like one track and then you take it from there would be good. You guys would definitely be impressed. Edit: yes, and he’s from Chicago and has collaborated with hugely celebrated Chicago artists such as Chance The Rapper, Smino, and Noname
Mick Jenkins is so overlooked as an artist in this game. He sounds like that one kid that was years ahead of his time, but just had to live in the era he was born in. Dude's amazing.
Guys I think it’s about time to revisit your Vegas boy Dizzy Wright. He still has a message that needs to be heard. You can’t go wrong with Killem with kindness, train your mind, the first agreement, or God bless America!
As someone who just came out of high school, I can say with absolute confidence that very few people take any of the writing assignments seriously. They go online find some weak facts about the shit they're writing about and then basically make a list of reasons why they're right just in paragraphs instead of bulletpoints. They don't take the time to look at the other side's arguments, they don't try and learn anything of value from the research they did, they just copy and paste and then change the words up so it's "not cheating". I can't tell you how many awful papers I've had to peer edit. EDIT: And before everyone crucifies me as an arrogant hypocrite or some bullshit, I'm not saying that I'm the perfect writer. Far from it, in fact. I'm decent, and I do love to write, but I'm out here trying to learn and grow just like everyone else should be. What I AM saying is that not enough of these kids are *trying to learn*. They're just trying to skate by with a passing grade.
Thank you guys for breaking these songs down. I mainly listen to metal, so I can keep up with the riffs but I lose a lot of the fast lyrics. Putting this one on my playlist.
ruinsane100 Bruce banner is the guy that turns into the hulk, they have a strain called Bruce banner cuz weed and the hulk are both green as a motherfucker
Hadnt heard of Mick till today Jesus mad skils, punch lines are on point " hanging with mr copper" etc etc. Not enough rapper like this and the Blue Checks bar is amazing and ive downloaded it already on spotify. Thank you again guys
People have to 1st listen to lyrics to understand, get and appreciate music like this. To me a rap song is nothing if you aren't saying something of substance and meaning. Guess that's why I like lyricists the likes of him and Mysonne. Just to name a couple. There are more of them out there. Thanks to people like y'all, I think more of them will be heard.
Black Thought is nice and got Hella Bars. But IMO, I think Mysonne's Funk Flex Freestyles were better than Black Thought's. In no way am I saying Black Thought's wasn't nice. It was nice as hell. I just think Mysonne's was just a little better.
I know no one watches these videos but I’m subbed for videos like this, I love Mick and he’s dropping an album soon, I love the videos for the culture, I know you guys need views though. Love this video, love you guys
A good artist is a poet, I listen to music like this as poetry. Ever since I heard Gil Scott Heron "The Bottle".....apparently that's where a lot of early hip hop artists got their inspiration, I'm going back to Curtis Blow era. If you guys haven't heard that song "The Bottle" check it out.
I love watching you guys. It's always fun when you play the songs I love but I think this is my favorite because you're introducing me to music that I don't know and this rapper is absolutely dope!
What about “Lie, Cheat, Steal”? I nominate that one. I showed it to a friend of mine and he thought they were literally advocating the actions in it and totally missed the message.
I'm an old school 'early 80's metal head....never been drawn to hiphop/rap. But watching your videos has given me a great appreciation for the art. Thank you for what you're doing!
About as far out of my musical comfort zone as you can get, but in the spirit of the channel I listened all the way through and digested the comments you guys made. I've always wondered what the attraction was to rap music. I mean, to me, there is very little musically in a rap song to catch my attention, so the words, tone, and cadence are crucial to being good. To me, this seems like common sense. Where I get lost (but still try to understand), is the story being told. I just can't relate to it. With yall's help I'm slowly gaining some understanding and appreciation for the music as an art form. Sorry, this went longer than I had planned, but just let me say thanks and yet another great job!
As someone approaching your vids with roots in metal, but who has dipped his toes into hip hop in the past with dudes like Dälek and Aesop Rock, I gotta say it's cool to get more of an insight into the history and methodology behind rapping and hip hop. It's also interesting to think about where you guys are coming from when you listen to the metal music you react to, and how you approach it in a vastly different way to someone like me. Really cool! I'll definitely be keeping an ear on your hip hop reactions and reviews. Good stuff, guys. And this is a really cool track.
Thanks for Reacting to & Reviewing this. I never heard of this guy. His word play is crazy. Most of his bars goes over many people heads. I think y'all did a nice service to many people by breaking down his lines. Most would miss them.
avonbarksdale91 lol. It would be nice to get rid of the "only nerdy white guys listen to Radiohead stereotype". Everybody can get something from the band. 9 Albums of solid beautiful music.
Didn’t think y’all would do this. Shoutout to y’all fr. Mick got the album otw and if you didn’t hear the tapes leading to it this year check em out! or more ; the anxious, or more; the frustration
I came here as a metalhead too, and I'm glad I did. I've developed a newfound respect for hip-hop as of recent, and this video further cemented that. Love that you take the time to break it down and explain things like the slang (I didn't know what 'biting' meant at first,) which enables guys like me to enjoy more hip hop in the future. Love you guys, keep this shit up! P.S. - You guys gotta give Periphery one more chance! Check out "Erised" (;
Great breakdown as always guys. My first exposure to Mick, will be checking out the rest of his stuff for sure. Have you guys ever thought about putting the genre of music in the title of the video, might get more people to click than just a name and song they might not be familiar with.
Just wanted to say love the work the effort and the hustle especially the diversity of reaction videos u guys make... just subscribed and can't wait for more 😎🔥🔥
Another metal head here... loving what you do. I'm trying to expand my horizons and I appreciate the skills of this artist but I guess I just gravitate more to the old-school rap, the newer stuff just doesn't make my play list. BUT I thank you for opening some doors to things that I haven't heard so that I know what's out there.
To your point on underrated or overlooked artists I feel like that can apply universally to any genre, and just as importantly to any generation. You are gonna have the "bangers" that are pleasing to listen to even if the content behind it doesn't hold water, and you are gonna have the guys who aren't acknowledged like they should be. Having known plenty of musicians who didn't get the "break" they deserved I think you have to take pride in the fact that what they do/did means something. Maybe they don't get the gold album to hang on the wall, but you can be damn sure that someone is gonna hear that and be inspired. And just maybe that quality lasts, and someone who got inspired gets that recognition. It may be a small consolation, but that is what every true artist strives for. That "What did I leave behind?" mentality.
That James Patterson and James Harden bar was fire bc he said "...don't make me Alex Cross cross..." and Alex Cross is a book James Patterson wrote 🤦🏾♂️🔥🔥
The Water(s) is easily top 5 mixtapes I've heard glad mick is getting recognized
Dagen my shit was Trees and Truth! Love that mixtape
Fax but the healing component was pretty corny
It's so dope, such a great concept project. Can't wait for him to start hitting out here.
Dagen check out Trees and Truths if ya haven't already it's better than Water(s) imo
Real talk.
Top 5 underrated artist who can slap half of this game.
1. Mick Jenkins
2. Joey Badass
3. Isaiah Rashad
4. Denzel Curry
5. Saba
Prime Bobby Shmurda is better than LebronAndJordan JID should be up there soon
I'd also add Domo Genesis.
Bryn Forbes Denzel Curry isn’t really underrated and underground anymore
Bryn Forbes somebody made a response to bruce banner ruclips.net/video/0ikeJUEeoqw/видео.html
Maaaaaaaaaaaan I was waiting on this from you guys.. Mick Jenkins went off on this one. This guy is on another level.
Hey G & R, one of your metal subs here. I just want to thank y’all for breaking stuff like this down. I don’t know much about hip hop and having someone explain what‘s “good” and why is super useful and welcome. Thanks for being awesome!
Hey guys, one of your metalheads here, just showing some love. Never stop what your doing.
haha same here. Cheers!
\m/
I 100% agree!
Woop woop
sameeee, love this channel
Love you guys showing Mick Jenkins some love he’s one of the illest. You should check out Saba’s album “Care For Me.” One of the best of the year.
Yes, best song to me is Busy
I'm a Metalhead with a B.A. in English. I wish I had this man as my muse in those poetry classes I had to take. I may not be up on all of the terminology he used, but with your explanations, I got it. Very intelligent writing. Very intelligent reacting.
I commented on this video 4 years ago, how did this video only have 70k views? People gotta respect Mick Jenkins way more. "Say we can't make them drink the water
I don't know if we can lead 'em to it" this is how it feels like even with this videos views.
Do Mick Jenkins- What Am I To Do. he just dropped it too.
Never heard this guy before, absolutely blown away by this, loved it. Good job gentlemen, keep em coming. I’m just an old metal head from Belfast Northern Ireland who loves his hip hop right now!! 🤘✊💥

im subbing to this just because of how much yall point out in the lyrics and how your pushing the underrated up and comers to the forefront.
He’s very talented and very very underrated. Thanks for showcasing unground artists who deserve more clout than they get👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Angel Rodriguez Mick is hardly underground at this point. But definitely underrated as far as far fame
He is in a middle of underground and mainstream like Vince Staples, Joey Badass and Ab Soul
Was ready for some more Mick Jenkins🔥
Ive been watching your reactions mainly metal and rock. Im glad I listened to this. You guys are free thinkers, you inspire me to be a free thinker. Thank you guys. I really enjoyed this.
It would be cool if you guys do an Ab-Soul reaction since you guys haven’t done one yet. I recommend “Invocation”, “Ab-Soul’s Outro”, Pineal Gland, or “RAW Backwards.”
SOULO HO! AbSOLutely a must do artist. "Huey Knew" on the track request too.
Yes!!!
I push Ab Soul on every video!
Terrorist threats? The law?

Huge classic country fan here. Trying to have an open mind. Listen to everything you post. Keep up the good work guys.
Got to see Mick in Spain last year, huge fan here from Ireland. Could we please get a reaction of 'Mick Jenkins ft. BADBADNOTGOOD - Drowning' . Great song and the video is a work of art.
The message and content of this video is much needed. Thank you guys.
I never knew Mick Jenkins was underground, all my high school friends listened to him, and I'm from a Suburb of Minnesota so not necessarily the epicenter of rap culture
neutron564 he's not really.
He’s not really underground just more unrecognized so somewhere in the dead space in the middle
Great video guys! I’m a pretty avid hip-hop/rap listener, and Mick Jenkins has always been a favorite. Keep promoting guys like Cole, JID, Mick, Nick Grant, so much talent that has yet to be seen
Y’all gotta react to SABA - BUSY feat. theMIND / SIRENS
From my favorite album of the year ‘CARE FOR ME’
Ev Lbot life would be good too. I would like them to react to prom/king, but i think you need to listen to rest of album before listening to that song
@@etphonehome3350 prom/king would be amazing
Should definitely listen to saba
YES! Been requesting Saba. He deserves that exposure.
Mick Jenkins feat Smino "New Coupe Who Dis?"
Q Bars uhhhh it’s Smino ft. Mick Jenkins but yeahhh
Wonderful, wonderful artist. Thank you for doing this. He deserves it. Great content as always.
Saba came out with the clear album of the year to me in “Care For Me” so far and one of the best story telling tracks I’ve ever heard in “Prom//King” so I definitely recommend literally every track from that album. YES!
aiden and he from Chicago. Lol
avonbarksdale91 oh yeah true lmao that helps
That's what's up. He's on Dreamville and I heard good things about him. I'll definitely check out homie.
Mick Jenkins is so overlooked as an artist in this game. He sounds like that one kid that was years ahead of his time, but just had to live in the era he was born in. Dude's amazing.
mick: if intellect discussion was dribbling you'll be travelling
meaning: ya'll be making leaps in logic
Your enthusiasm for these artists is contagious-now I’m hooked on finding out more about them! Thanks 🙏🏻

Guys I think it’s about time to revisit your Vegas boy Dizzy Wright. He still has a message that needs to be heard. You can’t go wrong with Killem with kindness, train your mind, the first agreement, or God bless America!
To hear artists like this is one of the reasons I'm subbed to you guys haha. Otherwise I would miss out on good stuff.

Lilium V true, man. Those kids can’t really run from that shit in college, though.
Thank you guys for breaking these songs down. I mainly listen to metal, so I can keep up with the riffs but I lose a lot of the fast lyrics. Putting this one on my playlist.
Yoooo, I miss you guys reacting to Mick!! Can you guys react to Earl Sweatshirt's "Quest/Power?"
Keep preaching. Love the respect you show everyone while still conveying your own messages
My local dispensary has a strain called "Bruce Banner". I had no idea who that was until now. Lol.
ruinsane100 Bruce banner is the guy that turns into the hulk, they have a strain called Bruce banner cuz weed and the hulk are both green as a motherfucker
Yup, I get it now. :)
Hadnt heard of Mick till today Jesus mad skils, punch lines are on point " hanging with mr copper" etc etc. Not enough rapper like this and the Blue Checks bar is amazing and ive downloaded it already on spotify. Thank you again guys

Knock tha hustle. by Cozz and J Cole
Glad y’all did this for us Mick fans. Still gon keep sayin it... Best Channel on RUclips. Free Thinkers!! 🔥🤘🏽🔥🤘🏽🔥
Orlando Weise, basketball is my favorite sport. First “rap” song I ever heard.
I love that you guys put mick on blast, been following this dude since the waters! One of the best writers EVER!
Tobe Nwigwe What Its For or his Sway in the Morning freestyle cypher please!!!!!!!!!. Eryka Badu and Dave Chappelle co-signed him.
S/O for showing Mick Love. No other reactions channels show as much love for a great artist. I hope you guys heard pieces of a MAN
Volbeat - Still Counting
Trivium - Entrance of the Conflagration
You haven't done Trivium in a while and y'all need to hit up Volbeat soon!
I love watching you guys. It's always fun when you play the songs I love but I think this is my favorite because you're introducing me to music that I don't know and this rapper is absolutely dope!
Still waiting for the reaction to Run the Jewels-Close your Eyes
Josue Villanueva I thought I was the only one requesting run the jewels lol so glad there’s others
I've requested RTJ a few times and yes, they need to get on that.
I’m genuinely curious what they’d think about RTJ. Killer Mike is an og and El-P is insane.
RTJ 2 is in my top 20 albums all time
What about “Lie, Cheat, Steal”? I nominate that one. I showed it to a friend of mine and he thought they were literally advocating the actions in it and totally missed the message.
Keep bringing out underground videos!! I love all your reactions, Great video guys
Rush - Tom Sawyer
I'm an old school 'early 80's metal head....never been drawn to hiphop/rap. But watching your videos has given me a great appreciation for the art. Thank you for what you're doing!
React to 6lacks new song "nonchalant"
You guys are THE CHEFS in a kitchen full of prep-cooks! #freethinkers R/G!!
Can't say how much more respect I have for y'all after reacting to this. Truly a channel for the people!!!!
Thank you sir but we've BEEN doing this! Go back and check out our other Mick reactions.
The end is near-AB-Soul ft Mac Miller
Y’all sleepin on soulos lyricism!
BEEN WAITING ON THISSSS!!! tweeted y'all. Love from London
My request is Stevie Ray Vaughan- Texas Flood
This was an awesome reaction. You guys are very open and intelligent to the world, I love listening to you. And, I have a new song for my playlist!😊
PLEASE...Show some love to Saba. Best album of the year. I would recommend the song "LIFE".
What'd you guys think of Murda Mook vs Aye Verb? and King Los vs Head Ice?
Lol they know battlerap?
George is a pretty big fan of battle rap, don't really know about Ryan tho
I came to the channel to watch your country music reviews but I really enjoyed theses lyrics ❤️
React to “U” by Kendrick Lamar
Just stumbled upon your P's & Q's review and was going to suggest this haha.. pure fire
Rammstein - Mein Teil or Mein Herz Brennt please!

Im genuinely happy y'all are doing videos on mick Jenkins
6lack's Nonchalant
Mick Jenkins is the truth! Glad to him on your channel again. You should do more! Also, check out Noname gypsy
She has a few tracks with Jenkins too
React to Anderson .Paak- Silicon Valley
Thanks for Reacting to & Reviewing this. I never heard of this guy. His word play is crazy. Most of his bars goes over many people heads. I think y'all did a nice service to many people by breaking down his lines. Most would miss them.
Check out Mac Millers new album. The vibe is dope
What's the use is my jam bro
I started watching your channel for music like this I'm happy you did it
Great review guys! I'd never heard of this guy but his writing was incredible on this! Definitely wanna check some other stuff out from him
React to 6lack-Nonchalant 🔥🔥🔥 you won’t regret it
Mick is so underrated it’s criminal. Y’all should do a full review of his next project coming up this fall.
Radiohead - Paranoid Android !? How bout this one?? Please!
Yes!!! Transitions for days & really great soundscapes / lyrics.
I think it'll be a big vid for them
J Lester yes. We need to get them on Radiohead. As a black man myself. I enjoy them a lot. Lol
avonbarksdale91 lol.
The Water[s] is incredible but I haven’t been amazed by much else he’s put out
So glad you guys covered this song.... Mick Jenkins is SO SLEPT ON!
Konan - Last Night In LA
Just subscribed to his channel. Thanks for showing me another outstanding musician.
I came here as a metalhead too, and I'm glad I did. I've developed a newfound respect for hip-hop as of recent, and this video further cemented that. finally . I've been waiting so long for someone to react to this
Great breakdown as always guys. My first exposure to Mick, will be checking out the rest of his stuff for sure. Have you guys ever thought about putting the genre of music in the title of the video, might get more people to click than just a name and song they might not be familiar with.
Just wanted to say love the work the effort and the hustle especially the diversity of reaction videos u guys make... just subscribed and can't wait for more 😎🔥🔥
I love love love the way you love words!!! Thanks, G -n- R! You really are the only game in town. 💗💗💗💗
Another metal head here... loving what you do. I'm trying to expand my horizons and I appreciate the skills of this artist but I guess I just gravitate more to the old-school rap, the newer stuff just doesn't make my play list. Much love for pushing this guy man. He’s too slept on. Y’all should most definitely check out his song Spread Love. Keep doing y’all thing though OG’s
If people think this is boring they’re foolish! You HAVE to appreciate the slick and smooth lines. No doubt. Love it. More like this please.
That James Patterson and James Harden bar was fire bc he said "...don't make me Alex Cross cross..." and Alex Cross is a book James Patterson wrote 🤦🏾♂️🔥🔥
