But the Australian *national anthem* has only two verses.
my school has a tallent show every year and you perform infront of your house and then they vote on an act that is then performed infront of the whole school. I think next year i'll do this!
We use 'gert' near where I live (Bristol, UK,) but we don't use it to mean surrounded. Normally used with lush to describe something good ("That's gert lush.") Anyway..I think this is awesome. I love Adam Hills :D
ok if you live in sydney then you will see on the f3 all the bush and alot of the highways! but mainland sydney there isnt any bush. but when you drive out of sydney out are surrounded by bush. which isnt a bad thing. i love sydney and i love australia. and ive been living here for 20 solid years. and adam hill nailed that!

@PopLuverGal our high school thought it was necessary to make us sing it there too. but they also said socks other than white ones were detention worthy, so they were fucked in the head anyway.
This is why Australia is the best nation on Earth, how many countries can take the piss out of their own national anthem and have the vast vast majority of people laugh about it rather then threaten? Could you imagine what would have happened if this happened in the US? Or France?
The Aussie Nation Anthem SHOULD be "Waltzing Matilda". To play the music to Waltzing Matilda at the Olympics when we win gold and up on the dias, there wouldn't' be a dry Aussie eye in the place.
