I work for IndiGo in the Ramp department. We have a specific term for what you've experienced on this flight : 3 point disembarkation. This was introduced to make a hassle-free experience for the passengers. We don't want any passenger to wait in an aircraft upon landing.
How is it actually faster? Because at the front of the aisle is only one passenger at any given time. So I don’t understand how opening two doors makes things faster if they’re both at the front. If at all, I imagine it’s slower because now, everyone needs to decide whether to go left or right with only one door, there’s no decision to make. You just go left.
Im an avid aviation enthusiast from Kolkata. Nice to know you came here :). Its currently October and CCU is finally getting ready to open the new taxiways and RETs. Excited to see a massive increase in flights soon and hopefully another carrier to VNS.
Indigo's growth model is really very inspiring and is rightfully taught in business management courses. To achieve this much of growth despite being a low cost carrier is just incredible and while at the same time they have improved their quality, unlike Air India. It has a bit of monopoly in India not because of non existent competition but because they are the best when it comes to fly at low cost.
I say this with my tongue firmly in my cheek (and yes, I was born and partially grew up in India) - David has a positive bias when it comes to India. I find it adorable!
i totally agree, very refreshing. Much better than drama queen Josh, and also with Noel I sense a brit-snobby underlying tone when he did his India tour.
@@marcd6897personally I think fight reporters like Josh and Noel just wants views on their videos. In hindsight all they care about is flying in the most expensive seats they can find.
This was really nostalgic, my dad used to work at LBSIA and I remember going down the apron in awe and watching planes take of. I hope you enjoy your trip in Varanasi.
OMG! Apart from the video being super awesome, it was such a pleasure to have you here in Kolkata! Hope you have a great rest of your trip… coming from an aviation enthusiast from Kolkata :D
I am not quite sure of Kolkata but having a foreign number, I was assisted with the WiFi at Mumbai Airport at a help desk, maybe a hack to keep in mind for another day perhaps
Airlines in China have been using two doors for loading and disembarking since the 1990s. On the flights I was on, they used front and rear doors. Not surprisingly, everything is twice as fast. Also they didn't enforce the "sit down for takeoff" rule very strictly hahaha!
Hey Simply Aviation, been your fan since many years and yes IndiGo is a great growing airlines now with many international routes. I would recommend you to fly Indigo from Mumbai to Nairobi,Kenya and Jakarta, Indonesia and from New Delhi to Baku, Azerbaijan, Tbilisi, Georgia, Almaty, Kazakhstan and Tashkent, Uzbekistan as they all are very interesting routes. Would love if you guys cover all of them. Love from Mumbai,India 💙
I would also get excited, -hey, guys this is awesome! they are using both left and right doors to deplane! And people around me would be like : can you move and get out of the way 😅😅😅
I'd like you to try out a flight to Rajkot's new airport aswell. Being a Gujarati living outside Gujarat, I am desperately waiting for a flight vlog to the new Airport
Hi Simply Aviation team. I 'simply love' your videos. You are one of the favorites in the Avgeek community. I request you to fly from Terminal 2 of my city Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport once. The terminal is garden themed as Bengaluru is the Garden City of India. Hope to see you soon in Bengaluru. Cheers & take care!!😊😊
Dosen't matter for Indian Passengers they will even Jumpoff The Emergency Exit to deboard quickly if allowed😂 I don't know why but everyone here in India seems to be in Hurry while deboarding even in Business class. As soons as Flight touches down their Feets and Back starts Itching to deboard
@@arpanabinaswar1811 that’s beside the point. The maximum output of the aisle in one direction (towards the front) is 1 person at a time. So I don’t see how opening 2 doors at the front makes it any faster.
Was going to commend IndiGo for using (more comfortable) *fabric* seats. But then I thought about what a *mess* the cabin always looks like on ex-India flights.
It is very frustrating and tiring to keep shifting between the subtitles and the video itself. I love your reviews but wish that you would speak the words. If you are not comfortable with speaking, use one of the myriad text to speech software to generate the voice track.

Good for Indians.. they will stand from seats while aircraft still in taxiway. Seems they can’t wait even for few mins

Hi I wanted to know are there any jobs as baggage handlers in indigo
@@flimgenco indians don't think. They just think 180 people in 1 door takes 5 minutes, so 180 people in 2 doors takes 2,5 minutes.

Interesting to see the disembarkation process being done at both sides of the plane.
Pretty sure the turnaround time is really fast between flights 😮

Bro you came to varanasi and I did not even know that YOU WERE IN MY TOWN😂
That time lapse was absolutely mesmerizing! Great shot David! Love from America!
11:34 in my opinion this is the best and fastest way to get people off the plane after landing
Love the stickers on your suitcase it makes the suitcase look so innovative. An awesome video as usual 😅😅
Fantastic! Welcome to my hometown of Kolkata!
12:19 It makes me smile to see your beautiful ITA Airways luggage tag, as a very proud Italian!

Great flight, and yeah absolutely great experience deboarding from both side of aircraft.
Man, I wouldn't fit in those airplanes. If your 180cm tall and that the space you get, Imagine 182-186cm 😱

View of Ganga River is Awesome.
I'm from kolkata thank for coming here enjoy our indigo flight
More flights should allow deplaning from both sides of the plane, heheh! Yet another cool video, keep 'em coming!
Great trip report, and I think a perfectly good flight and service from Indigo.
IndiGo's progress is quite commendable...
I am a big fan of you you shoot video really very well

It is also know as Calcutta in India. my home city, beautiful. Is Air New Zeland on the cards?
Fantastic trip report as always David!😸
Aren’t 180 seats the standard for A320/A320neo now? Even normal carriers like Lufthansa use it now
Thanks for visiting my home town varanasi😊

3:50 lmao is that the same boarding music Volaris sometimes uses?
Have you got any long haul flight reviews coming up.. I really enjoy them.
Can someone tell me why does some a320neo doesn't have the black mask in the cockpit
I went IndiGo from kozhikode (CCJ) to Dubai (DXB) when I was a kid
ഓക്കേ. 😅
Great Video! Can you fly on the Qantas 787 dreamliner and the Qantas A380 and review how the service on those planes is?
Hope you had a good time in my city

Love the video, but please more narration! You do such a great job talking about these experiences..
No need for more narration. Let the video do the talking

The legroom reminds me of when I flew AirAsia X from SIN to KUL. I'm 1m86 and my knees were up by my ears. Not fun at all.
Y’all need to fly from Bangalore new Terminal 2 🥹
1:41 Actually I am an AvGeek from Agartala 😃
You have still the ITA airways tag ❤
Deboarding from the other side is wacked😂😂😂
Today I came from IXB BAGDOGRA IN AIR ASIA
Welcome to my city
You know what? Indigo should serve at least complimentary snacks like coffee and cookies.
I’m in India 🇮🇳
Pls review the national carrier of the maldives . Maldivian
I had cfm56 engine sound
That's gotta be terrible luck. Both of your IndiGo trip reports don't have the A320neo...
lov u bro
Have a crush on David ❤
fail to understand why these cumbersome stairs are used. it blocks the whole pathway
Would deboarding actually be faster like this on a narrow body plane? Can’t imagine how.
