Thanks y'all. I have never been able to grow carrots, now I'm going to give it a try. I wasn't covering them and they would dry out between waterings. Again, thanks for sharing your knowledge. Blessings always, g. P.S. The other night I asked you what was going on in China. A friend had said they heard something was happening. You said to go to a channel called Pinball. I had forgotten until today. I found his channel and I began to watch a video. He is so course or profane with his language I didn't even finish watching the video. I wanted to say this is one of the reasons I watch your channel. I KNOW I'm never going to hear things like that here. I KNOW that you don't speak about things unless you're absolutely sure of your facts. If I have questions or concerns I know I'm going to get the straight skinny here. I just wanted to say thank you for being such a good spiritual and informational place to land in a sea of "worldly" islands. God bless you both.

Thanks Danny. I hung dried my carrot greens, put them through the food processor and am using it for vitamins and fiber in my dogs food. I left ground bees alone because i heard they were non aggressive pollinators.🤔🤔. I am procrastinating about the yellow jackets on the side of the gutter. Maybe tonight. I guess i hate to kill anything. Now I know..carrot seeds do not keep that long. Perhaps why my germination was low? I overwintered some carrots and in spring they bolted. So that is my secret to get seeds. God bless.🙏

Woowee, we just had to to get rid of a yellow jacket nest too! It was HUGE in ground. We actually dug it up and had to smash the eggs too. We had 2 scouts flying around for a few days but they finally left. We are moving next week and I can't wait to get a few things planted for the fall...it's surely cool, hopefully I still got time here in TN. I usually just do them in spring.

My brassicas and green beans are doing great but now a family of Groundhogs is eating them and I didn't grow it for them and I'm not happy about that. I would put traps out but my neighbors cats come over and I kinda like them even though I not a cat guy. They have kept the squirrels out of my garden all year and they hang out on our patio with us instead of their owners lol. Oh yeah I still have so many tomatoes out on my plants. I'm going to have to ripen them inside or soon I'll lose them.

We are having very similar weather in central TX. It is chilly for morning chores, and then it gets hot as the day goes on. Hasn’t rained here since before the last time it rained at your house. I wish I had raised some turkeys this year because there is not a turkey in any store to be found, and that’s what my family wants for Thanksgiving & Christmas. We have only been here for 16 months, so I have been working like a crazy woman to build a homestead and prep at the same time while going through cancer treatments. God is good though, and little by little we are getting it done. I want to add rabbits next year (for their seeds), if I am still able to do it by then.

This strengthens my absorption of your, VALUABLE, information.

I never had any luck growing carrots until this year and the one thing that made them germinate and grow is wetting the seeded ground and covering them for about a week. I'm excited to see how they do, in Ohio is getting cold but they're not done yet I don't think. I'm wondering if I can over winter them and harvest in spring? I might try to harvest some by the first of November and leave some in the ground for spring as a trial and error thing.

I purchased & received the olight baton 3 pro in time for the hurricane 🌀 Ian. It was so handy to use while lowering the water level in the pool every 2 hours during night. Thanks for sharing 🙏 😎 🏖 🏝

Love your gardening videos, Mr. Danny. You and Mrs. Wanda are so full of insight. Anyone know if Mrs. Wanda has a channel? I could use some direction with cooking and whatnot. No one taught me much re: home ec type of skills when I was younger. My mom directed me to take a typing course. Doesn’t help much with eating. But y’all, I typed this message with the quickness. 😩🤣

Do you fertilize with a light nitrogen when the new uncovered sprouts turn green? Or do anything else once the carrots are uncovered?

My carrots came out bitter. First ones I've grown. Put store bought garden soil in an old tote with holes drilled and a couple tires with the side wall cut out and stacked. Any ideas on why they turned bitter? 😎

If it was during the summer then that's why. Only winter carrots are sweet.

I so enjoy watching a master teach. Do you plant consecutive years of carrots in the same bed, no rotation?

Many times the ground wasps have more than one entrance to the hive, so you really have to keep an eye out for that.

Hello from Houston! I just prepared 2 of my beds yesterday, want to plant some onion seeds & sets in rows along with my carrots. Then after germination add a few pak Choi, and baby bokchoi plants I can just cut off above the roots. Thoughts? I like to experiment a bit.

Danny, have you tried coffee grounds to deter ants? I've heard that works.I've sprinkled it around my potted plants at the stem base and it seems to work but I don't have fire ants.
