Thank you! I was under the impression my Genie 1000 didn't have an open force setting. Turns out it was only set to level 1 and it couldn't lift the door. This solved my issue completely.
Just completed making the adjustments you suggested. Now, let's see it run for a few days and see if that does the trick. I'm optimistic it will work because whenever it jammed it on, I just needed to release the arm to the door and it runs. The problem may be as you suggested, not enough force....I'll come back to post a follow up....Thank you again for all your help!
Good deal! I have not had any more problems with my door hanging up after I increased the force adjustment. I think they set it low at the factory for liability reasons.
Question... if I have a super heavy door, double steel, insulated, etcetera, do you have a recommended setting for what the pressure setting should be for the up and for the down?
Cooter Malloy I don't know for sure, but the door should either have torsion springs or tension springs to compensate for the weight of the door, so start with 3 for up and 3 for down and adjust from there. Hope that helps.

Good Info Bro!
Thanks!
if Barbara Eden would have jumped out of the box and said Yes Master I probably would still own a Genie door opener :)
Barbara Eden coming out of the garage door opener would be cool to catch on camera :-)

mine makes a snap once in awhile when I close it. my force stock is set at 5 up and down. should I lower it to 4?
+hondaboss500 Couldn't hurt. You can always set it back up if 4 is too low.

Robert Fernandez Not sure. I don't live in that house anymore and have different garage door openers now. Sorry.
you replaced the other Stanley?
+Colton Beedy Yup!
wow, both of my geenies are not that complicated.
Yeah, my old Stanley just had a knob for the force setting. I like the knob better.
