The moment you predict Eric's moves in a video is when you realize hearing him talking about so many things at chess, different lines, how to calculate etc etc, has grown something deep into your brain and it's called the Tactics Tactics Tactics and Opening Repertoire. My god I feel inteligent
This is exactly what i was looking for when i searched "how to play black against the Italian." There is a strong player at the Cafe here in milwaukee who always plays the italian. This was my prep for him. It's nice to see one of the most played openings in a fresh way.
I love to watch you explaining your thoughts for the next 5 to 8 moves and 2 or 3 different lines with hundreds of arrows! Some times it's kind of confusing... but I can go back to the point where you start the Arrow massacre :) 👍
Jan Gustafsson goes over similar types of lines in his excellent 1...e5 chessable course. He too advises going 5...d6 and 6...a6 in most lines and to delay castling to preserve the option of a kside attack if white goes wrong. I'm not sure if he goes over this specific line cause it is a little unusual for white to play Bg5 so early.
There was a time I so hated the italian only because I always fell into the rookie tactics. So much so there was an entire like 2 weeks where I decided to play the hippo to avoid having to deal with it. Now I’m generally fine since I decided to learn the giocco piano but still have nightmares
Oh yeah, I fell for Fried Liver Attack once... (on the other hand, I had two games with white in Fried Liver that were identical, with a knight checkmate on move 11).
"If I play knight h5 and knight takes e5, then knight takes g3, f7...I don't wanna calculate that. It could be okay, but...I think I'll start with this." - Eric Rosen, in this game. - Also, me...in pretty much every line I've ever calculated.
Went looking for this game on Lichess today and could not find it, anyone got a link to it please ? Great game Eric, it changed my way of looking at the opening process for C50, thanks for sharing !
In the late middle/early end game when the knight came to d4, there were a few moves where all the tension on the king side was essentially balanced and static, but there was a fork on the queen and the inactive rook with Nc2. Assuming I'm a beginner and not really able to find those 10 move winning lines that resulted in 4000 arrows being drawn on the board at one point, is it even worth it going for the fork to win a pawn and an otherwise inactive rook? Is it worth it to prevent any possibility of activating that rook, or is it better to keep the knight involved in the attack and just do your best to never lose tempo and not let the rook be activated that way?
Was pawn g4 a way out of it at the end there? At least black will end two pawns up in the rook ending so probably still winning, but I didnt see an immediate checkmate
Yes Eric, You Tube is the Icing on the Cake, Don't You Forget it! HA! Thanks Big E, HUGE THUMBS UP & often share the Masterpieces with Family thanks to the Y.T Platform! ,,, good Man,
oh so if eric attacks the italian its "playing chess well" and he makes bank off youtube revenue, but if i do it then its "aggravated assault" and im getting 6 months in jail
That's still theory! As an IM you should know the theory. This line is clearly shown in the book, Eat Pizza like a Grandmaster. Perhaps that's why you aren't a GM
"I ran into castling yesterday. An interesting move" (Rosen, 2020)
not castling is more interesting
Took him a lot of years to see that move!
"Opponent wants a draw. Heh...that's funny."
Eric Rosen, with the near-accidental savagery.
10:01 the moment Eric realized he still needed a thumbnail
12:22 "I mean I could just takes takes takes, like literally takes takes takes, takes with check, and theeeeen keep taking stuff."
Captures captures would have been more accurate
there's nothing more satisfying than watching eric predict his opponents move
Really?
You learn a lot just watching him think and seeing the depth he calculated to
I noticed myself stopping two moves short of his in my analysis. I evaluated nothing, he evaluated checkmate.

Eric you could play at 15 move 10:36 R:g2 with extraordinary end
Oh yeah! totally missed that while watching. I think it's just Nf4+ and then Qh3 and mate is unstoppable
@@cadecrider80I suppose also Qg4 after Nf4
@@kuba__c1933 nope, Qg4, he can just eat the queen

try the rousseau gambit against them.

This guy is so chill. I love his chess commentary!
Just an interesting line if KxG5 at 1:58 : KxG5, HxG5, BxG5, BxH3, GxH3, RxH3, and then some Qd7 idea is absolutely crushing for black.
Great game Eric, and really enjoyed that picture at the end man

Eric at the end of every video...."maybe I'll put that on RUclips". I watch RUclips and I thank you for the amazing content sir👍
Of course I search again for "Eric Rosen" on youtube and i find the new upload 10 minutes ago. Emotions :')
Just turn on the bell notification duh
No one:
Eric Rosen: Bites lip in thumbnail
15:55 sobbing(sub-ing) in sorrow
"Yeah white suffering in pain, crying in agony subbing in sorrow"😂
Not even considering at 7:44 Bh3 hurts my aggresive spirit
At 12:50, how about Nc2 forking Queen and Rook? Or is it that not worth diluting or delaying the Kingside attack for?
At 7:44 after white plays Kh2 black has a forced mate in 8!
At 10:40 Rxg2 then After Kxg2 then NF4 followed by Qh3 is mate or if king went to h1 then Qh2 is unstoppable

for my low understanding white should not play h3 before black castled kingside because it creates a hook on g4

After 14.Kh2 (which was good on move 12) it is mate in 8
@10:37 I think you had a nice win with ...Bxf3, Nxf3 Rxg2+, Kxg2 Nf4+, Kg1 Qh3 & Qg2 mate.
This is the set-up GM Ivan Sokolov suggests in one of his DVDs.
Yes, you have gave me the answer to the one move opening I struggle will bless thank you,
i like the game very much because i play this with black as well thanks!🙏🏾👍🏻
10/10 Title
check between 9:20 to 14:00 time frame ,very good thinking
Please nakhmanson Gambit!
It's your kind of Gambit where you sac all of your developed pieces to get the king running
Is that so
@@benchmark7832 well you sac a pawn knight and bishop. Very aggressive high risk, high reward
@
Eric Rosen after kxf3 there's mate in 5! 10:34
But yeah, amazing game!

I don't know, but I consider not playing B4 on move 4 a losing mistake for white, I mean, yeah of course everything falls apart after that ;p

Hey Eric love your stuff and i suck at chess! Keep up the work! Much love
nice calculation!
As an Italian, I can see why I've been attacked so much these past 9 months...
😂😂😂👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
@13:50 why white didn't take bishop with queen?
how are you able to draw arrows on your chess games?
On move 14, was Bh3 a good move for white???? 8:35
14. Bh3 Rg1 15. Nf4 g3 and I think the attack fizzles out
Man I have been playing the exact line as black last few weeks..up until g5 move.."feelsIMman"
There is a load noise it needs filtet
The arrows!!!!!!!! I like
when it says 0 views but 3 comments
on 6:58, isn't the kg6 the best move????
I wonder how the game would go in the event of h5 instead of Nh5.
Beautiful stuff !! Also how do u draw red arrows on lichess??
Hold down alt, ctrl or shift
13:05 wasn’t it mate on Qh4?
This was a great video.
This is not the main line
but instead of Qg4 Rxg2! leads to forced checkmate
The dude on the right, in the Twitch HQ pic looked like Fabi... wasn't Fabi, was it??
12:03 Queen to D1 would have saved him.
Hold up, you JUST uploaded this?
I just realized how it feels to be early...! Yay!

Where is the GM Eric vs IM Eric rematch?
Where the new video

Didn't He switch black side?
Why no forking at 12:58?
I honestly didn't even consider Nxc2... I was so focused on the kingside! I guess there were multiple ways to win material.
9:10 And ya lost me. I have no idea where we are in the theory no more XD. Too many arrows!!!
10:00 Now your just randomly drawing :p

Hi eric

I wonder why the lower rated opponent is playing so fast, if I were playing an IM i would even calculate 1.e4
13:00 Why didn’t he play Nc2 instead, forking the queen and the rook
I think all of us can agree
