Excellent demo. This is the way it should be done.. I'm not interested in seeing a virtuoso bass performance, i just want to hear the simple sounds of the bass and different pickup configurations
I want this bass very badly. I haven't been playing bass for a long while and always wanted a Rickenbacker but they stopped making the models(4001v63/4001c64)I wanted. I believe this bass sounds at least as good or better. The single coil pickups and their placement, the most important being the one close to the neck, give it a blend of low-end thump and a nice treble on top. No muddy or plunky sounds. Awesome. I'm going to start saving now.
Great review video the best I have seen. I have a question? I have owned the Starplayer bass how does the neck feel in comparison to the shorter scale bass. They have the same spec`s only with a 34" scale. Is it still as comfortable to play as the shorter scale basses or is the neck feel like a half a baseball bat like a Warwick neck. Thanks...............................Ken
+IRONSTORM4 Hi there, thanks for your comment! I think the necks are pretty much the same. For my personal taste it could be a bit more "basebally" because I dig that. So I guess it's fine for you. Cheers mate!
Gordon Bennett Absolutely not too thick. I do like the dimensions, for me it is in the middle of chunky and thin but that really is subjective, isn‘t it?
Better than the average bass demo! I like the sound of flats personally. Don’t think I could live with only 20 frets and the horrible ‘mother of toilet seat’ pick guard. Also starting to look very expensive compared to Asian Gretsch for example. Love the 3 pickup idea and don’t know why it’s not more common.
HA, U GOT ME THERE! At the time that was my least favourite combination, so I simply skipped it. Since then my opinion has changed - u can actually get some Hofner-ish like sound. I'm an idiot. ;)
Far from it! I was just unsure, but the demo is absolutely fantastic. I loved every tone you pulled out of the instrument. If I get to try one out soon this might replace my Gibson Midtown Standard as my main bass! Thanks for the video, greatly appreciate the sound quality and variety of tones.
Most effective demo video I've ever seen. Nice work.

This is the best demo I've seen in a while!
Wow... What a Great Sound!!!!!.This is THE MOST wonderful bass sound I have ever heard.
Fantastic Bass & playing!!! I definitely prefer the roundwounds over the flats.
Thanks for the video 👍🏻
Great, very nice comparison! Superb with the directlinks to compare.
Amazing Demo. Loved how I could jump to the different sections!
Stellar job!

Stephan Pfaff Thanks Stephan
@@bazZzment do you find the D shape 12 inch necks fast and comfortable to play or are they too thick/flat?

didnt know this beast exists!
Great ! But ... which tune are you playing ?
Hey man, thanks! That's nothing special, I just wrote this short riff to play along to.
This might be a dumb question, but why didn't you play with both the neck and middle pickups together? Is there a reason this position is left out?

Also, I would assume it's also possible to combine the neck and bridge pickups together? Or all 3 pickups?
Really nice.
Needs more cowbell 😎
me dio justo en la pobreza....
What for a strap did you use?
It's my trusty old Comfort Strap.
Schöner Bass.
