Hello from the distant future. It sounds like a fat P with a bit of Gibson G-3 and mutant Hofner thrown in. I have all three, so I feel it is OK for me to make this comment. I need to get the Doozy out again. And yes, Stephan, thank you for the thorough and wide-ranging demo. You get so many sounds out of that beauty.
Well, I think it's a bit sloppy at times, but you know how musicians are and this video is meant to be about the sound of the instrument. Anyway, I'm glad you like it. All the best from Berlin!
Hey man, I just checked this old vid and found your comment. I have to say, out of the four models I had the honor to test drive, the Triton is my absolute favorite! Very versatile, awesome looking and a great sound. Especially the fake P position in the middle!
I get it .. in Lake Placid Blue.. I also own an US Precision Bass ... and others Duesenberg basses (Violin and Starplayer Bass) I confirm that the D-Bass i s a really pleasure to play ! So is the PBass, but this is really not the same sound. The Dbass own a kind of metallic sound that I really enjoy . Each time bassists try mine, they are amazed. This bass is a really good bass, and I don't understand people don't know it ... Too expensive maybe.. but really really good.. It's worth paying it 1600 Euros .. really ! Tell Me Stephan .. the Motown is nice as well isn't it ? And maybe will you also try the Triton .. ;-)

Wow!! Love the growl this bass has!! Not the prettiest bass but that sound makes up for it.
Great video
Thanks
Steve is amazing!
