I think this has a lot of interplay with the OP-1f you have on top, you can use the OP-1f as a tape recorder, you can loop the different takes live sending individual tracks into it while they're playing, then you can play with the on board effects on the OP-1f to mess around with the recorded signal. TE has really quirky devices with lots of absurd limitations but their workflow is certainly unique and the OP-1f and OP-XY together seem like a match made in heaven, even though it's a 4000$ match...
Ooh, I hadn’t even thought of this! I should try this out. Could def be fun to run the XY into the the op1 field with the diff tape emulations and the insert fx. And yeah the devices are def expensive, but also very fun to use from my experience
MC-707 has 1 independent FX of 80 to choose per track, plus reverb and delay send, plus 1 of 80 effects to choose on the output plus 16 programmable performance effects that can do stutter, tapestop or 16 of 80 performance effects. And it is several years old!
Oh excellent, £2300 synth allows you to use basic audio routing to fx sends to compensate for the lack of onboard fx, what more could you really ask for?
@@r10makesbeats eh? Their target audience is musicians that don’t want to have built in FX? The audio routing and additional onboard fx are not mutually exclusive features, they could give you both.
@lemonrain2741 You’re overselling it, just like TE does, the punch in fx aren’t per track but seem to affect all percussive or melodic tracks. The LFOs only have a single destination, I’d love to see that improved because it’s incredibly limiting. Even the amp envelope and filter when sequencing drums is applied to the whole kit, meaning you can’t single out your snare to change the filter settings. For the price tag there’s no excuse for that sort of limitation. You can convince yourself all you want, but don’t lie to people. Accept it for what it is but also be honest about what it doesn’t do ✌️
@ I’ve owned plenty of TE gear your telling me what I already know, but the price is for the design!? 😂🤦♂️ nothing I’ve ever had from TE has been worth the price tag, it’s laughable. And efficiency? Yeah yeah, the “efficiency” of the OP-Z build quality was game changing if I remember right…..
In other words "the thing you paid $2,300 for doesn't do this, but if YOU do this, then this, then patch this, then load this, then go back to this screen and tweak this, then adjust this, and finally tweak this, THEN it will work how it should" ;) Seriously though, thanks of the tip! Mine arrives tomorrow!
Yeah, I’m actually REALLY looking forward to mine! And I’m 100% aligned with you, man. I LOVE my Syntakt, it’s an amazing machine, the best! But, not portable and doesn’t do chords. I LOVE my Minifreak to create original synth sounds, it’s a crazy device. I just happen to be in a position where I have $2300 and this is what I want. It’s very personal, making this choice. The design, the colors, the layout, the workflow, the portability. I’m really ok with the cost, because I can afford to be so. Watched your other video, super cool! Keep up the good content and thanks for keeping up the positive vibes! ✨
If you just simply stand on your head, go in the 0.56 menu, cluck four times, hit the encoder 7 medium hard, buy another effect, then you can magically have three effects!! JK!😂 That is a really cool feature... You got to make sacrifices if you want small..
So in addition to the 2400 dollar price tag you have to buy more external FX? lol I thought elektron was bad with 1 reverb 1 delay for a 1k box. oooofffff.
I feel like you're intentionally being daft with your response. You typed "just about" then completely ignored those words? What 2 effects would be more commonly used than those 2?
Was waiting for someone to cover this. Thank you! Quick and easy.

@ tbh XY into CWO gets me pretty hyped
So... it's NOT the OP-XY that got better, but YOU
🤔
Thanks for explaining it. This is great. A bit sad that you cannot select different fx for each track
Same lol! I wish the effects were inserts instead of sends 😭

yeah but it's ugly and the screen sucks, its not fun to play with
I personally don’t enjoy the Roland UI 😭 - these machines do seem to be powerful 😄
Op1f for internal FX.
NGL that is pretty cool

Sounds like you’re not the target audience which is fine lol
Tell me without telling me you haven't seen Jon makes beats "why I don't make music on a computer"

And if we link the OP to this Nasa Space ship ...
Damn so like, an iPad as your outboard FX would be dope
Ooh, yes! You could def do that

😂 TE loves workarounds and limitations hha

There are so many boxes with loads of independent fx per track. Deluge, 707, 101, Akai MPC's...etc.
I had no idea other groove boxes existed 😂
Shhhhhh - you will break the internet saying that! You mean the Deluge can have 1 delay on one track and say....a reverb on another track??

Yes, it’s a requirement to owning an op-xy 😂
Yeeeeessss!!!🎉🎉🎉
WOW
It's a machine made essentially for RUclipsrs.
2 sends make sense considering the price 2299. The three sends edition will come next year for 3399.
The op-XY medieval edition incoming 🫣
👌thanks for the shout :)
We need your tutorial videos on this sir! CHOP CHOP lol!!! Make videos using the OP1 Field and XY together
@@SplashWaveBeats Will you send me an OP-XY please? I promise I will make videos
😂 😭😂 😭
@SONWU Use Affirm and make monthly payments 😂
Did people just sleep on the opz? The I/o module let you do exactly this.
I didn’t know that, that’s cool!
Are you saying it got 10 times better because you learned a new feature, or did TE implement a new update since you got your hardware?
For me specifically it got better because I learned how to do this 🥲
Wait till he finds out about iPads..
Now we need a tiny te multieffects unit
That’d be sick!
i was just thinking about that😲
Dope!!!!
I suppose that's cool for live gigging? But that kind of stuff I would just do post-production in Ableton right?
You could do it that way too, for sure 😁
Amazing feature, can’t wait to try it out!
Still have just one physical output for that purpose so can only use one effect (or multiple but for the entire effects loop). Sucks ass.
Fortunately you aren’t required to purchase one 😂
@ It’s not about purchasing it or not. I just wanted to highlight how useless this video is.
@@deepseadiver8191 😂ok bud
Really great content! Subscribed ❤
How much time a day do you spend on reddit?
0 minutes lmao
@ good shit
Found the shill
I paid for this myself lmao
Sounds good on just about anything huh? So delay and reverb sounds good on 808s? I think not lol
I feel like you're intentionally being daft with your response. You typed "just about" then completely ignored those words? What 2 effects would be more commonly used than those 2?
Yes, clearly what I meant. You got it! Lmao
@@oldenoughtowatchify Omfg it was a fxcking joke 🙄🙄
Dude, just stop. This thing sucks. No matter how you try to pump it up.
Sounds like you’re not the target customer 🤷
@ get off TE’s balls already. You look pathetic. Life of a synthfluencer?
What makes you the target customer?
@HeceduHM target customer is influencers who weren't given one.
Thing is incredible. You don’t know sh”t
Did not get better.
ok
