always best to buy used and refurbished. a lot of synth pricing is inaccessible, and being mad about inaccessible pricing is completely reasonable. especially since companies only get away with these price points because some people are in fact stupid enough to pay them in full instead of just finding used equipment or budget equipment

New owner here. How did you (or maybe better to ask can you) assign different presets/sounds to individual instrument keys without changing tracks (i.e. - so just on track 1 - change 12 to kicks with boop and 12 to snares with dead spot)? Getting started with XY is fairly easy enough, but once you go down a rabbit hole, man does it seem deep. Thanks for these videos, trying to piece together a master-class for this kit.

i genuinely don’t understand why people are so feral about teenage engineering. like they can’t just dislike the products, they have to find a way to justify HATING the company and its customers (to the point where people just made up stories about the Bad Gear takedown instead of waiting for Florian to explain). “they’re too expensive” all this stuff is expensive, nobody complains about moog being expensive. buchla is selling 50-year-old synthesizer for $4000. and anyway TE has a whole line of cheaper stuff “but the cheaper stuff is poorly built” yeah man it’s cheap. i don’t know what to tell you. my roland SP404Mk2, at a midrange price and beloved by the community, has the wobbliest plastickiest knobs i’ve ever touched. good stuff is expensive “you can do that on a computer for free” yes, correct. you could make a lifetime’s worth of music with reaper and free plugins. you don’t *need* to buy TE to do anything, but you don’t need to buy anything from anyone else either! sorry for the rant, this has become a huge pet peeve for me and i don’t even own any TE stuff anymore lol
