- Today we're taking a look at takeoffs and landings with the HMS Queen Elizabeth II Strike Group with the F-35 in Microsoft Flight Simulator - first at anchor off of Portsmouth, and then moving at sea in the Irish Sea. Enjoy!

I'm pleased to have been part of the CVF project for more than a decade. A remarkable team, including myself, managed the tendering, bidding, design, procurement, distribution, and installation of the Fire Protection and Fire Detection network on both Queen Elizabeth class carriers. They were not just colleagues but friends, and I'm proud to have worked alongside them. The entire fire protection network deserves recognition with a 'made in Newton Heath, Manchester' plaque 😂
Use trim left and right to maintain station with a moving carrier. Trim is used to alter speed forward and backwards in hover mode.
Utilise das camera pointed down to land in hover mode , particularly in tight landing spots very satisfying
You can control the speed in HOVER mode by using aileron trim. keep up the great vids. Cheers.
nice video
Happy to see you have embraced the fighter/military side of MSFS. You still need to check out the wonderful BF 109.
Yeah, 100% recommended, best engine sound and most challenging landing.
Nice flying
First video I’ve watched about carrier operations. Where’s the catapults and steam 😂 ? Seriously, very interesting and enjoyable watch. Getting to really like this aircraft!
Haha thats funny they (MS) are in what might politely called the baby steps process of carrier simulations. Anybody who likes flight sims (especially military) and have been involved in the genre for more than 10 minutes knows there is a much better product out there if carrier ops are your thing. Just google DCS supercarrier in case you were fair dinkum about this being your first vid on carrier sims.
@@zorbakaput8537 you might scoff at carriers ops on msfs but its a great tool for practice. Learning to fly in DCS can be frustrating so using a combination of sims is always a positive.
You need to use the HMS Carrier "app" in the ingame toolbar to turn off the POI marker
Interesting. I'll take another look.
I sincerely hope that carrier ops will be much better facilitated in MSFS 2024. Frankly, landing the F4K on Ark Royal in FSX was much more challenging and satisfying. The F35 leaves me completey disengaged.
The experience in DCS is much better - but then it's designed for it - MSFS never was.
Maybe the POI can be cycled in the app icon in the upper toolbar during flight?!
For this UK strike group.
Let’s goooo 👌🏽👏🏼🫡
Hi JB, where can the Strike group be purchased?
Orbx
@@jonbeckett thanks for the info
Can you pop out any of the panels?
No idea - sorry
I don’t think you can sporn on the moving carrier as it’s not on the world map 👍
I think you mean spawn - no you can't - it covers that in the documentation :)
Ok I can’t spell but a least you know what I mean 😜
