The modern arrestors are what can capture any aircraft in the sim. I have this pack and the arrestors caught a 747 lol but it’s not animated obviously.
I would imagine the catapult would show the airplane a bit more jerky with vibrations and more speed with the launch. It seemed very smooth and slow on the catapult aspect.
I am on XBOX CLOUD (on an ipad pro cable connected to a giant TV) and am still learning how to use this sim and the F18 but I managed to dumb down the handling by moving the cursor/mouse speed slider in general settings. It was a quick fix but worked. It made the view panning painfully slow but made the F18 flyable. I am planning to properly modify the sensitivity and handling soon but it works for me for now. Even after using the XBOX controller option in general settings I found the default aircraft way too sensitive for my liking. Interesting comparison between DCS and MSFS thks. In the aircraft selection screen under liveries and wear and tear you can also modify elevator, rudder, aileron authority, I have not tried that yet but plan to.
Just out of curiosity, were you using a static or moving carrier for this video? It looks to like a static one, which can throw off approach, but the static ones also lack moving elevators, won't align to wind, enter the hangar, etc.
@@OverkillSimulations lol, great general overview though, I look forward to the future of this addon, especially with their planned WWII carrier expansion.
I have one of the highest scores on Xbox maverick challenges carrier landing and I cannot land on this thing. The compass arrow is way off. The direction is 3 miles from static and moving carriers. It’s cool but annoying
IF you Purchase "The SuperCarrier Pro" From Their Miltech Websight They Will Give You A DisCount If You Have previously Purchased "The USS George H.W. Bush Carrier" And Can Supply Your Transaction ID Number. I Did Ths Yesterday 🙃 P.S. I Also Use The Super Hornet Mod As Stated Below
I'm surprised you did this review without getting to now the product properly. You are normally much better than that. There are several things that do work that you said didn't. It depends on what model type you are on. Eg moving carriers have hangers, static carriers don't. Odd I know. You must have been on a static carrier model. This limits the tablet options. I have to agree with you regarding the F15. It's a shame the developers haven't made it more realistic. I'm getting the F14 for my carrier flights.
I just wish that they would listen to all the feedback about the game F-18 and not a flight realistic simulator F-18 that we keep trying to tell them about. MSFS 2020 is more of a scenery simulator than a flight sim. I am going to bet - they are going to repeat that with 2024 simply because of the slow un-attentive to feedback corrections made to 2020. They tend to wait too long and pay little attention to repeated legit complaints. They OBVIOUSLY are holding out for more money. DCS to ME Is far better. But they have to be careful not to infringe I know.
Adjust your controls to match the aircraft, You aren't in DCS, so when in Rome, do as the Romans. From what I've seen, I am happy to live in the DCS universe. You are stubborn, You won't set up your controls, but again, I'm not familiar with MSFS, As far as the aircraft goes, I am not impressed, and the carrier is kind of "Gamey" (or cheesy).
Great video. I like your nod to DCS, in my humble opinion the msfs experience looks and feels very cartoonish compared to dcs but the reality is that just fit the super carrier and f18 in dcs it’ll cost more than the top msfs licence. I tried msfs but jgg it at couldn’t enjoy it compared to dcs. Great video though
@@OverkillSimulations in my humble opinion DCS absolutely crushes msfs overall, msfs and dcs do indeed have their niches and their place in the genre but for things like carrier ops, dcs is where it’s at, but it’s expensive to own/get into and it requires hundreds of hours of practice. But oh my, when you’re settled into that glide slope and you hook that wire - what a feeling
Next time try it with full flaps!
hey , how do you get that supercarrier option from the menu bar? 2:36 ..ive bought this pack but cant see it on mine when im on deck..
I don't recall but I remember there was a keybind in the documentation I had to set
Nice video, I love the Super Hornet 😀

The deck crew animations are good. They are just on the wrong side and pointing in the wrong directions.

Really nice video and I picked up the product. Question for you. At what point are you directed increase the throttle for takeoff?
downloaded this, can't get the dropdown menu to show up. I have the carrier launch thing connected, done it both ways, nothing

how do you "CHECK"?

Yeah it was static.. and I was thinking the same thing.. would have helped a lot if I could have my 27knots lol

wow since when in a wave off we go right towards the stack!
When you're annoyed in the simulator and get frustrated lol...
Luckily the Navy didn't take my wings lol
ok ill buy that n a shot
now pilot concentrate you can do this@@OverkillSimulations

Does the carrier have an ILS or a TACAN frequency?
Do you use the super hornet mod? I believe it completely revamps the flight model
IS THIS FROM THE 80'S GRAPHICS LOOK LIKE A CONSOLE OR SOMETHING??

aosbo super hornet is lacking in power. download the super warrior mod
Lame compared to DCS Super Carrier in every aspect.
Remind me what the DCS super carrier costs
@@PilotFlo like $40? it may be cheaper if its bundled with the F-14 and/or F/A-18
@@Chad_Aucoin it's 50 regular. And this mod is 15 in a programme that wasn't meant to do any of this stuff. So of course the DCS carrier is better
@@PilotFlo i've talked to the devs. they plan on doing updates to it to make it easiter to use and just overall make it better
@Chad_Aucoin Always a good thing. But to be clear, I think it's good value for the money. OP thought he had to compare it with DCS
MSFS default aircraft flight models are shit the F18 is an arcade toy
Agree
