  • If your looking to buy an expressive VST grand piano, Pianoteq 7 could be the one. It's clearly my favourite. Sounds excellent, a little expensive, but worth it. :-)

      Oh nice. I might just upgrade to version 8 and make a video on that as well. Have a great day 😀

    it sounds very nice. is the external reverb better than the internal, or what was your reason?

    • @MelodicMinds.
      @MelodicMinds.  2 года назад

      Yes I also love the feel of the new version of Pianoteq. I just like the external reverb better, so it's just a personal preference 🙂

    should we use expression pedal or sustain pedal for Vst pianos? I heard expression pedal gives half damper effect of the real piano

    • @MelodicMinds.
      @MelodicMinds.  2 года назад +1

      An expression pedal basically does the same thing as a mod wheel. I have never used a damper pedal. For me a sustain pedal is the only pedal needed, for piano on computer or IRL 😁

    By the way you must increase your vocals level, it is necessary to get views. The piano level was fine but hard to hear you in the default volume.

      Thanks. I will add some compression to my mic (as volume is adjusted to peak levels as is). Learning as I go 🙂 👍

    whats the name of the piece you played? always mentioned the name of the song in the description.

      It's my own composition, and it does not have a name, but maybe it should 🙂

      @@MelodicMinds. I am surprised. It was beautiful, based on the popular chord progression. plz do upload its sheet on musescore with a name and let me know. and explain more about expression pedal, if you search Sustain pedal vs expression pedal half damper, you will see a video of comparison of a man who explains how Expression pedal gives the half damper effect rather than on off so its better acc to him. I also have a 49 keys keyboard A49 of NI.

      @@OneStepToday ah, I see. I have never used my expression pedal for damping. The reason I bought it , is for playing and recording orchestral instruments, like strings, brass and woodwinds. This way I get more control of the expression (dynamics) and don't have to draw it into my DAW. Also I can use both hands for playing the parts, if necessary 🙂

      @@MelodicMinds. thanks, after some more videos and thoughts, I realized that sustain pedal is the only thing everyone uses. That guy who promoted expression pedal for sustain is unnecessarily confusing us. Anyone wanna play the piano should use the default sus pedal only, and the real piano too has just on off, theres no such thing as half pedal at all, we can flutter the pedal to gradually lower the effect, but there is no such thing as half damping or half sustain. I have ordered a cheap Chinese pedal.

    It’s still crazy to me that it doesn’t use a single sample, just pure coding.

      Yes it is very impressive. In the earlier versions it did not sound quite right, but now I can't tell the difference from the real thing.
      What I really like about it, is that you get the same level of expression as on a real piano, just cheaper and always in tune 😀

      what I guess is this: they first sample, and then they try to fit the wave form using Fourier transform. So after that, it is just a bunch of numbers (a lot fewer than wave data) to recreate the wave form. So it is "by math", to reproduce the "sample". It could be they use 350 numbers to be able to recreate the waveform. It could be 800. But it is a matter of a few kb, not even MB, and not GB.

      Yeah physical modeling is getting really good. So nice not needing 40 gigabytes of samples taking up a ton of space too!

      I'm running the 7.5 version, but it's called Pianoteq 7 on their website :-)
