- Well i'm finally back at it working on getting this plow truck rebuilt for winter plowing. Today my plan was to get the rear shackles replaced, install the new fuel tanks and pumps and get the truck to start. Needless to say that my plans don't always go as planned and I didn't get nearly as far as I wanted.
In the video I said that I got the shackles from www.BroncoGraveyard.com. I misspoke. I actually ordered the shackles off of Amazon. The rear fuel tank, pump and straps from www.rockauto.com

There have been lots of questions as to what all my in-laws do and why they have so much equipment. Well, there's a good explanation. Besides farming cash crops they also run a spreading company where they apply lime and biosolids to farmers fields. The way this works is that the farmer has their soil sampled and the results will tell them what product the field needs along with how heavy the product needs to be applied. It takes a lot of people and good planning on my brother-in-laws part (Uncle Eric) in order to pull this off successfully every year. We end up being under a tight timeline because the farmers need to work the product into the field before the season is over and winter begins.
If we haven't met before, I am Tom. I live in Minnesota on a small farm with my wife Dawn (TheMinimalMom) and 4 kids.
Thank you for watching!!

Love Uncle Eric’s comment at the end “Do you hate it yet?” 😂🤣😂
Tom, Loving the new channel, my wife is always watching your wife's channel.... now I cant find the pizza cutter.... :) but really our house has never been so organized. Glad you started up your channel because we jump back and forth between the two. We really enjoy watching both you guys, keep up the great work. Just wanted to share some appreciation. Justin
That's really cool!!! THANK YOU for watching them both!! 👍
My grandfather used to have a red truck just like that!!! Seats and all! We called it big red! Thanks for the flashback!!!
You gotta get this thing running!! I graduated from high school in 1988 and I LOVE that model of truck!! (I was country, when country wasn’t cool😜)
I've always loved them, too!
Just loved this (weirdly) and Uncle Eric is such a scream... Ha Ha ha
Yay a Uncle Eric to the rescue. 💕 it!
My husband just said that he feels like he's watching himself and my brothers!
Darby Terpstra that's awesome! 😁
Love this!!
LOL Do you hate this thing yet? Wanted to say that driving down the road and saw them harvesting beans and knew what the equipment was for and had y'all to thank for that!!! Love this video.....TFS and take care.............
Haha... my grandpa was a WI dairy farmer... had a ‘63? Ford pickup that I remember as a child so rusted that the floorboards were gone... created some fun driving and hoping your shoes didn’t fall off... also I’m like the only one in my family that name vehicles. ;)
Lol! I love watching your videos Tom! And I think I am learning a little from it. My husband just asked me what in the world I was watching... since videos about vehicles are not my normal fare (they are what he watches all the time, though.) Your videos are much more entertaining than the boring ones he watches, though.
This is great!!!
Hope you get the Yukon back soon. I would keep working on the F250 because it will be a great truck...you can never have too many trucks. Sometimes it takes longer than expected. Also learned something new about a torch from Uncle Eric which is a bonus. Can’t wait to see the truck running.
I'm from northern Iowa! Love uncle Eric's sense of humor! I work in a factory where they rebuild transfer cases!
I love watching your videos. They always make me grin and chuckle. You remind me of my younger brother- have that same humor. I love when you go from one small sledge to the big sledge.
Praying you through, brother. You & Uncle Eric are quite the team!! Great job, Tom!!! So proud of your dedication to your family!!
Great job guys and really appreciate the way you instructed someone, good teacher 👍
Please please please tell us what did they name the prius' ? Great work Tom
That's a good question. Whatever they named it. No one has told me yet!
Love the comment at the end...that was the best way to end the episode. I started watching Rusty Judgment when it was mentioned on Dawn’s show. I love her channel & now I have more shows to watch b/c it was mentioned. My favorite part of all these episodes is the love & respect shown toward all the family members. Everyone has their own talents & you know how to show them off. I appreciate the humor, because it is similar to mine. Keep making your episodes & I am looking forward to Uncle Eric’s new channel!
Just wondering if the cat walking behind you at the start of the video heading towards the Prius was the same cat you guys found later when you were driving to get your shelving? 🐱
Nope! That's the mom 😉 but the cat is still ok and doing well!
Watched Trucks and Tractors while doing my affirmations. 😃🤣😂 So did you introduce Dawn’s brother and I missed it? What’s his story? Tom, you always make me laugh! “I’ll be back in a couple hours, but for you it will be a second.”😂🤣😂
Uncle Eric is Dawn's brother.
Cathy Bacon Yes, I know, but wondered if he introduced himself and what he does, does he have a family etc...
@@patriotgirl6843 he works on the farm with their dad but I don't believe they've mentioned a family or not.
@@patriotgirl6843 he hasn't been officially introduced yet, we need to do so! He'll tell you he's happily single, he lives at the farm, too and is a couple years younger than Diana and I 👍
no your not wasting your time. you saved yourself money! it always takes longer than we think.
Tom, you made me laugh when you said you can't get rid of 'Corbin's' truck because there's too many new parts in it! You sounded just like what Dawn discusses about emotional possessions, or possessions because of how much they cost, so one 'has' to keep them! lol. I'd advise you don't let Dawn see the last part of this video, or it may be "'ByeBye" for Corbin's truck! : P
Hahaha, love this!!
If it was me and I needed the truck, it was paid for and I could fix it cheaper than get a replacement I'd FIX that baby! And if I happened to just like it I'd fix it anyway, just because. And clone/son will desert you sometimes. Riding is good, banging is not so much. Just depends! Good Video and Eric is a pal! GBWYall!
As long as you’re taking care of your family obligations a hobby-fixer-upper is only a waste of time if you stop enjoying it.
Well said!!!
HA! We used to have an old El Camino and we named the “Rust Rocket”!
I like to name cars. I used to do that too. I think it adds something fun to having a car. 😄. Now I don’t owe a car, does that mean I should name my shoes ?
You don't have a press in that fancy shop to drive those leaf spring bushings out with?
👍
do your in laws now have a truck company?
No, they have the semis and end dumps as part of their spreading operation (spreading of bi-products from municipal waste water and water treatment plants) 👍 they use them for harvest in the fall, too
@@TheMinimalMom thanks! really interesting. I have only experienced the spreading of manure at my brothers (now sold) dairy farm. very cool.
Did you give up on it?
do your in laws have a manure spreader for the fields. I was wondering bc of the video in the beginning. It looks different than my brothers from years ago. what was that? type of compost spread on the fields?
Yes, if you go back a few videos, they were spreading "bio-solids" a bi-product from waste water treatment plants 👍
