Thanks for all of the great entertainment in 2023 and make sure you have a 2024 to remember. Only do about 10,000 miles a year myself but the UK is quite a small area compared to what you have to enjoy. Happy new year. Regards, Mike.
I have put about 31,000 miles on my '23 Tiger Explorer Rally in a little over a year. I love riding and never have wished I just took the car (which gets about 2k a year on it). Your mindset going into a ride is important and sometimes you start off "not feeling it" and end up with an amazing ride with a clearer head in the end. When in doubt, take the ride. You ever do Wailin Wayne Weekend? Its really close to us and if you have not been, I highly recommend going, lots of different types of riding, amazing people and always a good time, this year will be my 5th time going.
Exactly, even when I don't know where I am going, it almost always ends up being the reset I was needing. I haven't been to wailin wayne, that is always the weekend we head out on our annual 2 week trip somewhere far away. I follow it though. I have been over every foot of that area multiple times on many different bikes over the years. Nice work on that mileage. You commute on the bike? I thought I was killing with 25k miles a year. I got buddies that have had a bike for a decade an its got 8k miles on it. I have only had the gs 8 months and its got 14k on it. The 890 received another 7k this year as well. I am always amazed how a 10 year old bike can only have a few thousand miles on it.
Some of my best rides have been the ones unplanned. I too get on the bike not knowing where to go and have second thoughts about riding - but I “force” myself to ride ( for the therapy) and most often it turns out to be a great ride. Just turned 60K miles on my two year old GS, so I spend a lot of time riding the local roads. Luckily I’m located in Northern California and have many amazing roads within a few hours of home. It’s all good therapy:)
Couldn't agree more. Although I have a little "grass is greener" going on with the whole Northern California roads you get to enjoy. O go somewhere west new every year and just can't get enough of it. It also speaks to why sometimes it's hard to stay motivated on these 1-2 day rides. I really long for the 7 day big trip adventure vibes. But as you said, I am always glad I did the ride and always find something new, even in places I have already been before.

Thanks enjoy watching what type of tire do you use?
Trailmax missions in this video. I love them. Trying out the raids now on the gs. They are decent but will probably buy missions again next time.
How can a fellow get this route
