The Evo sounds better to me. The Focusrite sounds colored and seems to add bass, in a woofy way. The Evo's bass if more focused, defined and punchy in music comparisons. The spoken word is the least of my concerns. Nice comparison and review. But, sounds better, is totally subjective.
Finally a good review of these products with an actual comparison, waiting for the second part where you will compare all of them to m audio 192 4:) in terms of extra features I think evo 4 is better, but in my opinion the sound quality on focusrite is a lot richer and that is the most important part. Thanks:)
an instrument input comparison would have been nice, cause you record a lot of instruments, too, and the mic preamps are always what sounds the best on these interfaces, but the hi-z many times isn't hi-z at all, cause they can't manage the usb power right. from the mic preamp comparison i like the evo better. the scarlett is very clean, too, but it has a little too much lows and, and the air is slightly cut off - clean, without the "air", which is too much, and sounds like it would make a condenser mic lisp like crazy. the evo sounds more balanced overall, but does have a little more honk in your example. still better sounding, imo.
Great review, thank you very much! Which one would you recommend to record tenor saxophone (and which mic) ??? Thank you very much again for sharing your knowledge!!
Which one compares better in terms of latency when monitoring? I wanna use them to practice and record electric guitar with some effect plugins. I do know that it depends on lots of other things, but keeping other variables fixed, is there a clear winner between the two?
@@grantedgeek thank you bro 🙏🙏 i dont know which one i have to buy today i talked to an musicstore and they even dont know the audient evo 4 and they recommend me the focusrite ☺ but if you say the evo is better than i have to look
hey bro i just got audient evo 4 yesterday but iam confused between scarlett solo and evo 4 my primary need is for vocal recording what you suggest for cleaner and rich sound?
@Heart D Sorry saw this Late. Erm id say go for the size bigger with two XLR cables and MOST IMPORTANT a separate headphones volume control. I can't tell you how annoying it is to have to unplug or turn of your monitors to record then turn them back on to Listen. Its Hell!!.. Luckily I have the two plugged in My Scarlett solo holds my mic and my head phones for when I record and the eco is just for the monitors. I have to switch between the two... And I forgot my point of all of this. Erm Long story Short. EVO 4 Is Ridiculously basic (Not In A Good Way) It makes my mixes sound dull. I then connect the scarlet and I hear what I missed in the Evo. Wow this turned into an essay
Really nice video, but you did forget a huge feature on the Evo. The ability to loopback audio live from your mixer. It is amazing!

Great comparison. Here in my country, Indonesia, but Focusrite is more expensive, 60 usd. Love your show and your singing voice, btw

Evo 4 has far better dynamic range, cleaner and uncolored sound compared to the the Scarlett.
But Evo 4 lacking in build quality and headphone preamp.
