    Maybe it was just the time we were there, but Norris Geyser Basin BLEW ME AWAY! The whole Porcelain Basin Trail was erupting, literally dozens of geysers steaming thickly and dramatically into the dawn morning air, I felt like I was on another planet. It was on our first day, and It jaded me to everything else we saw in the park for the rest of the week (everything on your list).

      @@WereintheRockies The first week on June. Although I have to admit after watching your videos and you suggesting September there is this part of me that was considering September. I am on the fence about it but I know I need to make a decision this week and book my camping spot.
      Since I’ll be alone I’m not going to camp in a tent. I found enough options within 30 minutes to an hour of the park on the west side. Originally I was going to stay in Cody Wyoming but this is before I started doing some research and after seeing your video I realized I didn’t want to be 2 1/2 hours away from the west entrance. Your videos helped me so much I took notes and I plan on watching them over and over again!

    I have been loving your videos, I am planning a trip for next year. I was wondering if I were to pick two different places to stay in the park to see everything, Which places would you recommend. I had originally thought of West Yellowstone, but after doing much more reading, it is becoming much more apparent to stay in the park. Canyon Lodge is in the middle, would it be best to just stay there the whole time? We are retired and have no time constraints and then we are heading to Grand Tetons after Yellowstone. Thanks.

    • @WereintheRockies
      @WereintheRockies  3 года назад +1

      Canyon would be an amazing place! Only issue is Lamar is far away because of the road closure. If you stayed a night or two in gardiner or even one in gardiner and one in Cooke city, it would be amazing. But I know that’s kind of a hassle. I have a special connection with retired people because of my day job. Haha. Anyway, I really think you would like my audio guide. Lots of history and stories.

      Brink of the Upper Falls is a short walk and a 30 minute stop. Brink of the Lower Falls is .8 miles, but it is a steep walk (600 foot drop). So that would take longer than Upper Falls.

      Good question! Artist Paintpots is more colorful and leads up a hill to an overlook.
