  • **We visited Yellowstone before the devastating floods, our thoughts are with everyone affected.
    Here are a few promising sights I have found for donating to the victims

    We spent 4 days in Yellowstone and had such an amazing time, so much so that I now want to go every single year.
    We love using the Gypsy Guide App while driving in the park, it is great at telling you the history and science of the park as well as where to pullover and explore and what to skip. But even with the app I still make an itinerary, I split the National Park into 4 sections and we visited a section each day, and then if we have spare time we go back and explore things we might have missed a previous day. For this section we actually spent 2 partial days exploring Upper Geyser Basin, Biscuit Basin & Midway Geyser Basin, and that included a travel day with our RV from Colter Bay in Grand Teton to West Yellowstone. I think we could have done it all in a really long day, probably about 12 hours including driving time from Grand Teton to West Yellowstone, but I wasn't confident in finding RV parking at Old Faithful, we have now discovered that if you get to Old Faithful before 8am parking isn't much of an issue, at least in September.
    Here is our trip experience:
    00:00 Intro & planning
    01:50 Upper Geyser Basin
    01:56 Old Faithful
    02:27 Bison Sightings & Geyser Hill
    04:18 Castle Grand Area
    05:03 Grand Geyser
    06:16 Castle Geyser
    07:26 Giant - Grotto Group
    08:04 Grotto Geyser
    08:38 Morning Glory Riverside Area
    08:50 Riverside Geyser
    09:00 Morning Glory Pool
    10:00 Hamilton's General Store
    10:09 Old Faithful Inn
    11:00 Biscuit Basin
    12:49 Mystic Falls Trail
    13:46 Midway Geyser Basin
    13:50 Fairy Falls Grand Prismatic Overlook

      You are going to have an amazing time in July! And you are definitely not alone, I think I was born an anxious person, but I try to push past it as much as I can…while still remaining as safe and in control as I can be 😊

      I really like the way Castle looks to but it’s so hard for me to pick a favorite, I think my favorite ends up being whichever is erupting in front of me at the time 😊

    Funny you mentioning the hikes seem tougher due to the altitude, we come from the seacoast of NH and when we went to Bryce Canyon, just walking up some of the look outs had us wiped out. Going from sea level to 8000' makes a huge difference, plus being out of shape didn't help.

    • @scheduledadventures
      @scheduledadventures  3 месяца назад

      Yes, it’s something I didn’t even consider before this trip. I thought I was in decent shape walking and lifting weights at home, but the elevation on what are labeled easy hikes said otherwise. 😊

I am hoping to do a video of our favorite things to do and see eventually, I just have to finish editing these last two sections of Yellowstone first but they are taking me forever :)

    Hi, there from the Uk, we are arriving in Yellowstone in June, your videos will help us plan a great trip, the footage and the editing are superb , what equipment did you use to film everything?

    • @scheduledadventures
      @scheduledadventures  3 дня назад

      Thank you! I highly recommend getting the Guide Along App for your visit, it is very informative about the history and science of the area making the scenic drives even more interesting and it also gives good advice on where to pullover to get the best views.
      For our footage we only used GoPros in the car and IPhones for hikes and scenery. The trick is holding your phone with both hands, with the four fingers stabilizing underneath and thumbs on top, then keep your elbows lightly bent to absorb your steps and you have become a human gimbal. I hope that makes sense.
      I hope you have a great time here in the US and in Yellowstone!

    if you didn't like the hike to Mystic Falls you really won't like the hike to Fairy Falls. you hike through wooded area and there are a lot places where you can't see the trail very far in front of you. and it's bear country

      You are so right! We went back and hiked Fairy Falls on another trip and while I really liked the falls that wooded trail made me so nervous.

      Yes. We always go in September because it is less crowded, the animals are active, the fall colors are beautiful and so far we have had really good weather.
