Blade Dance should be what scoops up the soul fragments. That makes the most logical sense to me as your character is already doing an AOE around you. The vortex motion could be seen as a vacuum 😂
You are already thinking too far. Blizzard stopped thinking when they heard Havoc, as usual.
Absolutely, blade dance is the right choice. Fel Blade could also change to a choice node, that slightly changes its effect and on/off its snap to the target ability.

Actually thinking about switching class in TWW. Played DH since Legion, but I'm done with useless buff windows and jumping into mechnics to boost dmg %.
I don't understand why they had to do this to Havoc after Dragonflight honestly. It played perfect in seasons 3 and 4 and was probably the most coherent and non janky the class has ever been.

Having Reaver's Mark being 2 independent charges that look like stacks of the same debuff is completely unintuitive. And having Felblade sucking in all the souls will lead to massive fury overcapping. Havoc might end up doing fine due to tons of modifier stacking but man the design is suuuuuuuus
Having to try and line up multiple % dmg modifiers is terrible gameplay imo. I've been playing it since I jumped on this game, and I think I'm going to drop the spec all together until it gets a good class playstyle overhaul.
Yeah was thinking maybe they would allow blade dance to vacuum the soul fragments, immolation aura, or vengeful retreat while going into fel rush. Or remove the fury cost for throw glaive and allowing it to drop a soul fragment when being thrown. But when you change the later for the other it can either being beneficial for a straight forward rotation or hinder the buff time entirely. Alot to contemplate when we move closer to the expansion date.
Looks like, for he first time since Legion, I will be making an alt and finding a new main. In all honesty, DH really doesn't bring anything to group anyways. Always such a PIA to get groups unless I make them. DPS is average at best. We don't bring a lust. That 5% debuff isn't really noticed at all. I stuck with the class for so long because it was fun to play. That fun just doesn't make up for the lack of everything else now. Maybe I will finally go back to my ret that was my main before Legion came out.
Looks like I'm the only one who is thoroughly excited for these changes.
30% wasn't THAT high but I'll take that 6% nerf for a 3 stack reavers glaive instead of 6 stack ANY DAY.
also Fel Blade being able to suck in souls for extra fury/stacks and healing is a NICE QoL change.
buff Fel Barrage and maybe make consuming soul fragments reduce the cooldown on the hunt by 1-2 sec per fragment and I'm STOKED.

I have 0 interest in Fel Scarred but I hope it also gets the same ''love'' and attention that Aldrachi had.
I die enough using Felblade, they shouldn't make me use it more. Oh wait, I'm that one player who refuses to play Aldrachi because she wants to play Fel-Scarred even if it's poo

Even with the QOL improvements the design is bad.
Yeesh, I plan on playing my DH for TWW but if they don't get them fixed by release, I've got my hunter ready for a backup plan.
I usually use fel blade to reconnect with the target after a fel rush or VR. so to use Fel blade to scoop up soul fragments makes 0 sense to me and would greatly affect my play style.
Here, i'm waiting for a HUGE up of fel-scarred.
Aldrachi have too much weirds mechanics (sinful brand vietnam flashback)
I want to play DH so bad, but with what I’ve been reading and hearing all alpha/beta, I just don’t know. I think I’ll level my Monk and play all 3 specs, and keep an eye on DH until further notice.
Here’s my thoughts. If Fel Scared is going to remain this bad. Delete it entirely.
In my opinion the best option is to give us the combo point layout for Aldrachi Reaver, so we can easy track them and to gain this „combo points“ every second CS gives us that kind „combopoint“. This way they could get rid of the randomness of the soul fragments.
I love DH, but I'm seriously considering dropping my raid spot and rerolling to another class that will play better and have more fun with. It's concerning that this stuff is not ironed out so close to release.

That's rough, hopefully they get this sorted for pre-patch... I don't know why they don't just go with a more simpler gameplay, Fel Scarred is looking better unless they can really get a solid Aldrachi Reaver build.
What I dont like about DH atm is how badly it seems to scale.
We will be amazing in the beginning.. then fall off to the bottom tiers by the end of the exp.

Scared honestly. Bc there ARE other classes that ARENT broken and are playing/looking great. Going into a brand new expac with a broken class just makes everyone not want to play it. In the long run leading to even less help for the spec based on popularity.
Following the DH changes from afar on the beta and getting increasingly concerned as we get closer. Hope they fix all of the issues as this was going to be my main.
I have enjoyed my time testing the reaver, but man the cognitive load is so insane. It was okay in the raie testing, but I can't imagine trying to push very hard content on it.
Their stubbornness to design gameplay around soul fragments is astounding. I will not touch havoc, the spec I've been playing for the last 3 years and the only spec I like, if they keep it in this state.
i dont know why they would make felblade scoop up the souls seems like a waste of resources if your already at max fury
should have had the scoop on just blade dance or chaos instead of felblade suuuuuure felblade works but eh
if they wont fix those things AND buff fel scarred to be at least a competitive option i might be playing my dh as an alt in TWW and switch to fury warrior or even resto shaman (if it gets more good changes)
so sad I want to play dh but if the player population shrinks they might see that they have to change their ways..

I main DH and Paly and I might have to dump them since I started playing back in BfA with the misses.
