    My dad tells me the Biafran story with so much pain written all over his face. He never fails to narrate in details to anyone who cares to listen, of how he wore his boot for almost a year without taking it off, and when one finally manages to take it off, some part of the flesh comes off with the boot, or how you will be walking with a fellow soldier, and within a split second he is gunned down right in front of you, amongst other heart wrenching events. He fought as a Biafran soldier at the age of 17. Still waxing strong till date . God bless all our fathers who fought for us to be here.

      Igbos soldiers murdered northern and yoruba leaders just to acquire power. Nigeria practiced regional system of government were all the regions have their own separate governor general, shortly igbos decided to seize power by eliminating all northern leaders and yoruba leaders excluded igbo leaders and later installed an igbo man who destroyed the regional system of government to unitary system and declared himself a supreme leader. @@lawlyshewroteeven the independence struggle had many Igbos in prominence……probably more than any other ethnic group. The massacre of women protesters in Aba in 1929 by the colonial masters caused massive outrage in the UK, and probably marked the beginning of the reconsideration of colonialism by the British. What other fight are you talking about? Before independence the North, the East and the West were administered separately……even independently of each other, so the question of fighting themselves didn’t arise at all. The only interaction was at the level of individuals who chose to live in regions other than their ancestral regions. With the British in control, the various tribes were kept away from the throats of one another.
      Truth be told, considering everything that’s happened in Nigeria, I fully expect Nigeria to splinter into several countries eventually. There’s been too much bloodshed, and the hatred is still visible and raw, as was clear for all to see during the 2023 elections. With this mutual hatred, transmitted through the generations to even our youth today, I see no hope of true national integration at all. This country is just sitting on a keg of gunpowder and waiting for the right conditions to ignite it into a raging inferno.

I wonder where you get your source as your video is so much detailed that makes me even think you were alive during thr Biafran war, documenting it all. Your videos sends chills down my spins. With that said, i wish you spoke more on how the Biafran soldiers under the strict directives of Ojukwu, were manufacturing their own locally made bombs from the then department of chemical engineering at the university of Nigeria, an achievement which the west saw as a treat which made them to support Nigeria the more in addition to the oil of the south. Only God knows the heights Biafra, the land of the rising sun, must have risen in greater heights and even compete with countries like China, if it had won the war. I was really impressed with the resilience of the Nigerian army and if they still had that fighting spirit in them, they would have wiped the insecurity in northern Nigeria within a split of second. May the souls of all those that lost their lives during this bloody war continue to rest in peace, including my uncle, Amen.

    With a heavy heart I write these; while we have a fantastic "videomentary" of the Biafra/Nigeria war , it's very important to highlight the immediate and remote causes of the war;
    (1) A heavy "pogrom" , literally; the killing of the "Igbos" in the Northern parts of Nigeria, for reasons best known to Northerners, for a long time, resulting in thousands of cruel deaths and even more being displaced and restless, Gowon was only making empty promises to end these killings of the Igbos in the North
    (2) The sudden denial and dismissal of the "Aburi Accord" agreements by Gowon, which were reached in Ghana by Ojukwu and Gowon, in the presence of the then Ghanaian Head of State as well as other notable African leaders, which prompted Ojukwu's insistence of controlling the revenue from his area aside crude, and Gowon having all the military might, and wealth from oil revenue, went and "struck first"
    Now if u are unbiased and dispassionate about the whole thing, tell me if the situation is now in 2022 different from what happened in 1967?

    Let everyone see this. Let's learn from this. We can't run from this.

    They may have crashed the Biafran rebellion forever, but they will NEVER crash the spirit of the Biafran people and their desire to be an independent nation. As a South African with no connections with Biafra or Nigeria, I should perhaps not appear to be sympathetic with one side or the other. But African butchering African is something I cannot be silent about. Please people, let Biafra go.

      Deal with the xenophobia first before jumping into other matters. What is the reason behind xenophobic attacks in south Africa??

    • @thembadube9589
      @thembadube9589 2 года назад +8

      @@drinkskhalifa7153 It is the same reason as what was referred to as "Ghana Go Home" in Nigeria when the working class Nigerians perceived Ghanaians to be competing unfairly for meagre resources in their country. The attacks in South Africa on foreign nationals are happening only among the underclass. It is not helping when some (and I want to emphasise SOME) foreign nationals commit heinous crimes such as selling drugs, raping women, forcing young girls into prostitution, etc. A recent announcement by Government shows that there are more Zimbabwean/Mozambican/Lesotho/Nigerian prisoners in SA than there are South African prisoners in any of those countries.

    • @drinkskhalifa7153
      @drinkskhalifa7153 2 года назад +5

      @@thembadube9589 there is no comparison between Ghana go home and xenophobia in south Africa. Millions of ghanaians were migrated to Nigerian because of hardship later was fixed and ghanaians refused to return to their homes and nobody killed any ghanaians .
      I bet you all the Nigerian national selling drugs in south Africa are igbos! Go and check.
      Secondly, let clarify this to u , igbos were given chance to leave Nigeria with their five state, do u know what happened?? They refused to leave without south south the Oilers region. Now tell me how do u expect Nigeria to give up its sources of income to igbos called biafra?? That's why we always said igbos are not ready to go. Nobody depends on igbos region but igbos depend on others regions because they have nothing to offer that is the reason why igbos land is empty. You should try and understand things before jumping into conclusions. Ask yourself why the world ignored they cried? Because they were not in the right.

    Nigeria dividing into three separa States. That should have happened long ago, but the oil is a curse on that region.

      Obayemi thank you for your kind words. Nigerians don't acknowledge the great sacrifice the Igbos had to pay when faced with an existential threat. The only option the Igbos had was to defend themselves against all the odds. The act alone is in defiance of submitting to genocide and the destruction of our spirit. Today we've pursued personal economic development despite the peculiar challenge when it comes to dealing with the Nigerian state.
