Random but i feel David is the real ninja warrior here. Not based on strength but on his creativity and versatility to find the best techniques that work for him
So stoked you got James on this! He's been one of my favourites since I started watching the show back in season 3 and I'm happy to see he's still a BEAST🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
People almost always make age seem like it is a big factor in how well someone can do. But it really doesn't matter, if you are in shape, trained, conditioned, and you are healthy, and take care of your body. I am 56 and can do this stuff more so then when I was 25, because I have trained and improved. If your body regresses with age, you are not really taking care of it. Or there is something going on you are not aware of. But it isn't simply aging. Your body is designed to heal itself, not just age and become less capable. When I was 45, I went and checked out an MMA gym, and the owner/trainer/mma fighter said he was surprised someone "my age" was in that shape. But that is just a a social idea that gets passed around society.
I think if you don't make it a priority life happens and all of a sudden you haven't exercised regularly in 20years or more, it's hard to not let that happen as an adult. That being said when I was 18 I felt superhuman, I gotta be honest 😉 ...though on the other hand in something like rock climbing that takes technique I'm way batter than my younger self!
Man, it's been years since I watched ANW, but I do remember David. For the record, I haven't climbed a rope since... the early '90s... but I would love to try that.
“Something that looks so easy and simple…” Uhh.. wut? My first instinct was that it’s not even possible! Anton, you’re an absolute freak of nature if you see something that seems physically impossible and think “Yeh… I can do that. Easy.” Hahahah What the hell… you’re just built different, my guy. Made strong in the motherland.
If you joined the ends of the ropes together to make a loop, it'd probably work out as a legitimate ninja warrior obstacle. With just a loose rope it wouldn't be good for production to have to replace it each time. Making a loop might make the challenge slightly easier though.
@@mids9001 Good point. That's probably safer than of the loop doesn't touch the ground, but could still be an awkward landing if not landing on completely flat ground. Say you're going for landing on your feet, but land partially on the rope - would be easier to twist an ankle that way.
Love your videos Anton, if I ever miss one I blame my adhd and I'll get around to watch all of them and leaving likes and comments eventually. Also idk if it's just me or does milo look like the fake MR BEAST?
Nice to see some (for me) new faces. Good spirits as usual 👍🏻 Tough challenge. Should practice on it and see how it progress over some months with strength and new techniques.
5 years from now, we are probably going to see a video of Anton proposing an experiment with his friends/peers doing this same experiment but with channel lock pliers. Much love you guys!
when your playing around with ropes like this, if you would want to make this allot harder use a climbing rope you belay climbers with, cause allot smaller will be allot harder to even make moves in, that's unless you twist the rope around your hand than if your strong enough you can even do a one arm pullup in it, but also progressing up the rope would be harder to, anyways always nice to see the creative challanges you come up with anton
Btw, seeing videos with rope climbing I found that nobody uses legs lock like crossfit athletes. It is useless for this challenge but could be used for a long climb. I wish Anton to have colab with crossfit athlete in crossfit box. It would be interesting since there are many gymnastics movements where Anton is very strong
Anton actually pulls up. He doesn't "chest to bar." What people in CrossFit utilize, like you were talking about with the feet, is for the sake of speed, even if it is a piss-poor excuse of a movement considered some sort of exercise. CrossFit is fun to watch but they need to continuously improve naming their movements because some of the names do not match the half-assed movement patterns they perform, again because they are doing it for speed (not quality)
Yeah, they also don't kip like crossfitters when they do pull-ups either. Also, I'm sure these guys know all about how to climb a rope efficiently. Case in point, Anton has several rope-climbing-specific videos on this channel. Let's not bring in the clown college that is crossfit to this channel.
@@thomasbecker9676 Anton is great athlete. Different sports have different goals and technic. Let's not compare sports but extend the skillet that Anton did many times with Magnus, Jujo
interesting the technique at the end by holding one side with your feet and essentially pulling yourself up. I'm guessing the same could be done by holding one side with one hand and "milking" the other side with the other hand. essentially a one armed version of "milking the rope". You could compete to see which arm is quicker.

tbf he has a lot of experience squeezing thick ropes
Old man strength and wiliness.
Strength too
Hey thank you! I have to say every single person in this video constantly impresses me by doing things a cannot do, no joke!🙌

Thanks to all the guys who help with these challenges. You bring a lot of joy into our non-athletic lives!

I love these sorts of challenges with different specialists and opportunities to make their attempts based on their individual strengths.
I had David's "old man beta" in mind from the very beginning, so it was extremely satisfying to see him do it at the end.
Yeah, seems obvious right? 😆
This is an interesting obstacle! I feel like the optimal approach would change for each athlete, which would make it fun to watch in competition
David's "weak old man beta" was the _best_ tech!
Haha, thanks 🤪
David is making the older people amongst us look bad! Fantastic effort :D

Not sure how long you've been doing 2160p but it looks great, not a lot of youtubers upload that high thanks for the quality video

That's a good idea, but could be dangerous if the loop hooks the athlete on the jump down.
@@joseville If the rope touches the ground that won't be an issue. the loop is just to make it easy to reset.
New stage 4 🤪

6:00 lmfao david really said that with a straight face 🤣🤣🤣🤣
🤷
Wow that looked brutal! I didn't think anyone was going to be able to do it! I liked the technique at the end there with his feet lol
I like how you just put "baseball" for Milo's background.
Great to see "The god father" and "The beast" in your video 🤩👏
"Measuring Body Parts" "Line Up The Tips" Ayoooo
Hey Anton, it would be really cool if you could include the ages of the people you introduce. Give us an idea of what is still possible as we age :)
I mean David is the best and the oldest at 45 so...
@@globesurfer122 😆
Milo I think just turned 18, James is around 36, I'm gonna GUESS Conner is early 20's, Anton must be about 30 or so now??
This looks so difficult. Respect!
For the first few seconds I thought Anton was wearing a super thick bathrobe or something like that :D
same lmao
Magnus Midtbø : "Hold my chalk bag.... "

Cool i wanna try this!
i think that backflip to catch the rope is a good way to get injured, especially if it is so late
It wasn't as bad as it looked, the rope was loose, so he was just pulling down, and there was a thick pad to land on
Davids so cool
ty.
1:45 big pause
"Oh ok. Whatever that mean" 😂🤣🤣😅
Yay!
hell yeah david had the same idea that i had at the end there
👍
I was surprised nobody used what David called "old weak man beta" before. I guess I'm old and weak xD
Wouw something impossible can be done ❤😂
I'm thinking invert , wrap a leg into each side of the rope with the tail ends of the ropes under each armpit.... Maybe 🤔
Really good video.
i am always interested in how magnus would do on something like this
He always does well
he’d do it one handed because he’s insane
Wonder how Jonathan Brown would do on this, as well.
I'm sure Magnus would crush it!
That's what I was thinking too, need to see Magnus on this challenge!
Nice challenge! Again 🤟
Thank you! You are always very welcome to try!💪😎

Grabbing both ends at once would be a lot easier on a thinner rope though.
@@durabelle that's correct and make it easier to get up the rope on a smaller rope but as long as your just using both it's harder
Salmon ladder with rope: 🎶 hell to the naw naw naw, hell naaw 🎶
You should try puting the rope over a round bar instead of a square bar to make it even more of a challange.
wow!!!
Very very interesting. I’ll definitely give it a try. Хороший видос 💪
Спасибо!💪🔥
Big hands
❤
🥇
Yeah as they get close to the top and there's more weight of the rope below, the twisting is reduced
Can you do a video about nutrition and what you eat? Thanks!
I love when you got Carter, he's a cutie
Just got back in from rucking. Thanks for uploading
Thanks for watching 💪
What time would Magnus do?
Антон! Отличное видео. Впрочем, как и всегда.

Can you make a video in the future where you build a race? Yours team vs fans team for price?
I would like to see same challenge but one hand forced to stay at the end of the rope.
There was no rule about rotate round spot say 3 times to di d the highest point onto the bar at top wounder if it would be the strat.
I was a tree climber for 40 years, I could climb a 100 foot rope without using my legs, sad to say I'm too old now.
Я удивлен, что это оказалось вполне даже возможным 😮

Did I hear some Pete Whittaker ticks at 5:36?? 😂
Really difficult campus challenge
It's not N/A. It's DNF
When scoreboard shows N/A it means they didn't even attempt slash hasn't shown up.
DNF is simply Did Not Finish.
it's a casual video, so we understand. this is protip for future vids. Aside a written technicality, this video was dope. a 7/10
If you think - there is an easy way)))
