    I think if the belt you had used was of higher quality it would have survived. Whenever I've used those $10-$30 "leather" belts I had to buy a next one a year later. 4 years ago I've decided to buy myself a sturdy $100+ (I think it was somewhere around $160) made out of real leather and it still looks good and works well. The belt is heavy and I actually think that you could slide down with it if you needed to (probably once, but still)

      you are aware that in a country like the United States there is a huge amount of meat, hence farms, hence cattle. a piece of leather can't cost 100 bucks, a whole skin made in Italy costs 300 bucks. 20-30 belts can be made from it. I live in Ukraine, here you can buy a leather belt made of calfskin or buffalo for 25 bucks. it will be a 40mm and 3.5mm thick piece of real leather lol. And this is an overpayment for an automatic buckle. With a regular buckle, it'll be 20 bucks. And about 50 bucks for a deerskin belt. (these belts live 10+ years) At the same time, you have more leather in your country, someone claims that 60% of all leather goes to Nike and Adidas products, but I think this is not true. artificial shortage and inflated prices.😢

I already know the answer but tell us all how the leather actually holds up? Better yet… any cow farmers in the comments? Or tailors? I will take an upholsterer? Yeah leather is strong no doubt… but it can be cut and rip.

    For the nylon strap, you say that it was supposed to be belts, but looked like nylon straps, I think those two are not necessarily exclusive.
    I'm thinking of some belts made of slightly thick Nylon/Polyester, like the ones from Black Diamond in their "Clothes / accessories".
    Also, the leather belt looked a bit thin/cheap, maybe a belt of better quality would've lasted a few meters at least, instead of snapping almost instantly.

  • @LORDVADER357
    @LORDVADER357 Год назад +1

    Its possible anyway. 90% is the rope/cord/cable on which you gonna drive on. 10% is on the objects that you gonna use to attach to the rope. If you have slippery rope you gonna slide on it no matter what objects you gonna use. Even with gloves. With thicker gloves you gonna slide as well. Lubricant is key to sucess. And always you can attach slippery object to your gloves. Even large coin with two strings will do the job. Strenght of the material matters. There are belts that can do that. And nylon straps as well.
