Then its an RTS where micromanagment should be in point if you wana play "serious". If you are unable to realize what is happening right now dou should go play turn-based games. That's next level. Are peasants idle when trying to reach the mine ? I guess they would automatically split up if you flamestrike while they are trying to enter the mine.
if you flamestrike peasants and peons while mining they will not move away from the spell. In those videos the fact they all moved aways from the mine is a clue that the player has an idea of how to play wc3 (and some experience) .
Because of timeings, at that point Blodelf gain 300+ gold and other player get nothing. Also its not only about slowing goldminig, these 50 gold gained from opponents mine are destroyed.

it isnt just the fact u are stopping them from mining. you are also wasting there gold by taking 10g each time. your doubleing the damage done.
Triple and maybe quardaple damage as one peasent can bring 10 gold (for 100% efficiency 1 gold mine useually have 5 peasents), and he stop them all

Not only is he taking a gold advantage. But depleting the enemy gold mine. Making a 300 gold advantage a 600 gold advantage in the long run.
