- Here I run down all of the custom hardcovers that I made during 2020 while I was in quarantine.
If you want to make your own custom hardcovers I made a handy guide to help you out, which you can watch here: • Beginners Guide to Cus...
Here are the mappings I made for Green Lantern and Spawn.

The month you were born Omni is a wonderful idea
Spawn Collection is the nicest I’ve ever seen.
Thanks man! I dig them. I started the project before the compendiums came out and I’m not gonna lie, once I heard about them I was like, did I make a mistake? But I put so much extra stuff in there, not to mention how much the ads and letters take me back to that time.
@2:03 the full art double page gutter is fantastic!
EXCELLENT WORK! This is absolutely just incredible! Would have loved to do this with my 90's comics!!
These books are beautiful. I’m starting the exact same Green Lantern project. I’m looking to get pointed in the right direction for the mapping you did. Is there a resource that I can look up the mapping? Is your book zero Green Lantern Rebirth the 6 issue set?
Thanks so much! The zero book I redid recently. It was all sorts of stuff from before Rebirth like zero hour, emerald twilight. Things that are referenced heavily in Geoff Johns run. Then books 1 starts with Rebirth. I’ll put a link to the mapping I used in the video description.
Those all turned out great! I especially love the Spawn and Savage Dragon volumes. :-D
Commented before I got to the completion of your GL binds! WOWZA! :-0
Thanks so much! Definitely some fun ones to have on the shelf and read.
Pretty dam cool.
I like the monthly marvel volume! How much does it cost to have books bound?
The price can vary a lot depending on what you want but most places start at about $25 a book and go from there.
Yeh, this is probably pretty cool to me, actually.
Do you have a guide for the Geoff John's Green Lantern ?
I do! docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1yFddrr9MP8Bs5CkxHyqGN-WfVNkG7XJwm6pgjCYX_Yc/edit
Hey! Great work! Quick question about the covers, how do you get the images in a sufficiently high quality so they print well? Do you scan in your comics at a high resolution or do you find what you need on google?
Thanks! For the graphic covers I usually do one of two things, scan in covers or elements I need at 400 to 600dpi (what I did for green lantern), or I use screen captures from comixology (what I did for spawn).
Also, there is a large community for this stuff and im sure if you ask others that have cool covers you want to use for yourself, they will give it to you
I’ve still been needing to have some books bound. There’s so many books I want to get bound. I wanted make a complete omnibus for Appleseed, a complete set of Image 1963, and a complete Lone Wolf & Cub.
I would love to see a complete lone wolf &cub. I did Appleseed and 1963 and those are great candidates for custom binds.
@@thecomicarchive I wanna see what those look like.
How many issues were in the batman book
It’s issues 1 through 23
@@thecomicarchive that is awesome. You’ve been inspiring me to do “smyth sewn” instead of other methods. Did 1-23 use “smyth sewn” binding or did it use another one given how large that collection was? Thanks in advance for the answer!
Yep! These were smyth sewn. I try to keep my smyth sewn volumes to about 20 issues but occasionally I will go over that.
can you send them a book and have them just copy the covers and spine?
I believe so. I enjoy doing the design side of things but I think they can just scan the covers and spine and print that out. You should email Tom and Houchen (his email is on their home page) and ask though.
@@thecomicarchive okay cool thanks for the help
