Y'all didn't get it. This was a video about how NOT to use the Bax Bangeetar. I own this "Preamp" and it freak'n rocks balls. There is a video of a guy on RUclips rocking this thing on a cheap little 15 watt amp and killing it. LOOK IT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll post a link later.
For all of you tone snobs out there, the reason this pedal sounds not the best, is because it's being used incorrectly. This is a preamp/emulator! You DON'T use it like a dirt box in the front input of the amp!
Orange hitting the nail on the head with this one. Adrian Emsley is a bit of a mastermind.
Anout half way through he started to get some decent tones. It sounds pretty true to the old orange amps in that when they are totally dimed you go past the realm of nice overdrive into gritty/farty fuzziness.
With the gain down a bit it actually sounded pretty good.
If I were Orange, I'd want to put as much distance between my device and this 'guitarist' as possible!
Was the reference tone a touch too dirty? It sounds like the pedal is overloading the amp and making it go all farty. Might have been better with an amp with more headroom?
Great video for showing how versatile the EQ section is. I Currently use it in the FX loop of my Rockerverb, but I'm considering chucking it through the front end as a fuzzy boost for the dirty channel. Great playing by the way! :)
Super versatile mids
I just got this. I love it,
I think it sounds awful personally and ive got an orange head.
Yeah, I don't think this kind of tone is for me. I'm on an iPhone so that may contribute, but the main problem I'm hearing is there is too much clipping in the distortion. There's some great compression and the drive itself is really good. It's clipping out way too much for me though. 2:38 was the best tone I heard. The rest is like a fuzz pedal.
I can guarantee this guy used a 9 volt power supply. The instructions say you can use either a 9 volt battery, a 9 volt power supply, or a 12 volt power supply.
This beast should only be used with 12v in. 9v shouldn't be recommended unless you like your guitar to sound like shit. Like this guy.
Literally,
Neil Young's Crazy Horse tone in a box.
I dig it. Not my gambit though
IIIIRRRRKKKKK!!!!!Makes me cringe...like nails on a chalkboard.....Maybe im too much of an old fuck but for me nice overdriven tones left the building in the late 90's
Sweet! :D
This is definitely a pedal you'll have to tinker with to get a good tone.
orange you glad you didn't waste money on this lemon?
+cyanidejunkie117 Check out Pete Thorn's review. You might change your mind
I have it. This is not a good demo. This pedal is incredible.
Well, not super happy with that tone, and you could buy a micro terror head for a little more than half the cost.
I've got both. I use this for DI recording. It's awesome.
It may sound like shit but at least it costs 350 bucks.
Sounds horrible...
meh! sounds like a fuzz pedal. and there are lots of fuzzes for have the price sounding a lot better.
sounds like crap
+lliguf Yep, if a piece of shit took a shit it would sound like this. Brings back painful memories from my early days of double stacking distortion pedals.
Orrible.
