I gotta admit i got hooked to this crazy saga with Ohio and the crew, i mean what a battle and what determination it takes to keep going back over and over again till it finally happens and like it does it happens fast and when you least expect it! If I were you, I would never shoot a Matthews. I shot hoyt and bowtec for almost forty years. I know you have a lot invested in Hoyt. Had problems with my new Hoyt last year, got no help. Dealer took it back and I shot the Matthews. I couldn’t believe it. Smoother, quieter and extremely accurate. Best bow in my forty years of archery. Expensive, but the very best. Money well spent.

@@Red_Arrow Since I have your ear Kip, what quiver do you use? I've been looking for an 8 arrow quiver, I can't seem to find one.
@@ramsayreid The quiver yall see in a lot of these hunts was a homemade quiver pieced together from an old Martin quiver and another one. Gotta have enough ammo on hunts haha!!

Hey bud, my Dad got he and I started bowhunting in SE Ohio about 5years ago. After years of being fortunate (blessed) to take many, many bucks in our home state of FL and especially SC we'd grown in a way that made us only interested in harvesting mature deer. We both had a deep, true fascination with mature bucks. He passed in 2017 of a heart attack at 55years old. My best friend and hunting buddy. I was 31 and so thankful for the time the good Lord allowed us to share. I keep up the tradition, and I'm always looking for good folks to touch base with when I make my annual trip. I would love to come visit with you guys one evening and learn what I can about the area from you. Makes no difference whether we hunt together or not. I would be thrilled to stand aroumd the back of the truck and drink a cup of coffee with you guys. I generally stay in Athens. Reply back if you guys are interested, and I can get in touch. Awsome hunt. Great video. My dream is to hunt the mid west. Been bow hunting for 3 years retired my rifles. I'm addicted to the adrenaline. Ive only shot 1 for in 3 years. One day I'll get my buck,and hopefully before I die, I can hunt Illinois or Ohio to shoot a dream buck. 👍👍👍👍

So many parallels between your Ohio experience and mine Kip. Took me 5 years also. On studs each year, bad luck, bad weather but persistence paid off for me too. I even hit a deer this past season with my new F150. $7900 damage. A week later connected (finally) with a nice 10 pt. Can’t imagine what it felt like to get that monkey off my back, well I guess you can huh? Congrats on a stud. Love your vids, keep it up.

I only hunt ohio [not by choice], and there is a lot of give and take for sure. Id love to get in a moose hunt out west some day. Definitely on my bucket list.

How many yards was that buck at the end?
I went to Kentucky last year and shot two different trees then had a buck wide open at fifty but I wanted a better camera shot so he got away. So I guess it's Kentucky's fault. Couldn't be me must be a curse.

This hunt was a while back, but I'm pretty sure it was late October. Usually always hunted Ohio around Halloween

We haven't hunted Ohio much the last two years, but there are some giants up there!! Just had a stretch of bad luck but the bucks we've tagged out on have been great deer!
I thoroughly enjoy watching your videos. Your the only hunting show I watch besides the THP and seek-one. The only thing I hate is when you call it junk on his horns. I'm sorry but I can't stand that and feel like it's disrespect towards that animal. It's never " junk". It's character that makes that deer a one of a kind.
