That lag you experienced is very likely a DDOS attack on the servers. People have done this in Warzone 2.0 to acquire easy wins because most of the players either lag out of the game or quit voluntarily to not deal with the game's poor performance. Edit: in fact, there are tutorials on how to do this and even Reddit posts about this very issue.
