Ellie & Tom's story - a Jeans for Genes Day film

In this film made by Genetic Disorders UK, the charity behind Jeans for Genes Day, eight-year-old Ellie talks about what its like to have a younger brother with a disability. She explains how he got the condition and how it makes her feel when people make fun of him. Her brother Tom, 4, was born with Cockayne Syndrome (or CS for short) a rare condition which causes early ageing. It means that he has lots of problems that usually only old people get like he has to use a walking frame, cant hear or see very well and has constant tremors and stiffness in his joints.
Tom and his sister Ellie kindly recorded this film for us in April 2009. Very sadly, Tom passed away in February 2014. Tom's father Richard has generously allowed us to continue telling Tom's story.
