Cant believe this is even a subject
I have a family friend who went UDFA and signed with the Bengals. Was in TC, was killing it, eating up their starting DB's, but the problem is his agent, had ties to the Bengals, and got him there for camp, but they didn't need any WR, so he was never gonna make the team. Roster spots most of the time is about the $$ invested vs the talent, because these GM's and HC are trying to keep their job, and hard for them to justify keeping a UFDA vs someone who is on the books for a good chunck of change.
I don’t know how a grown man hasn’t learned this lesson already. This happens in everything. Broke bad boys get more action in dating. If you work for a company you’re not going to get promoted faster than a family member of the owner. In most things it’s about who u know not what u know.

But what about RBs? The team keeps UDFA RBs over drafted guys all the time
RBs have high usage rate. They get rotated in and out all the time so you have a better chance of “seeing” most, if all, your individual RBs because of rotation and injury substitutions. And because of the relative low value of RBs nowadays, especially if they are UDFAs, there’s no high risk of sitting them and putting another RB, maybe even another UDFA, in to see if he can make things happen on the field.
I think there is a fear his career may be over. And if he had landed on someone else's practice squad he might not have wasted the last couple of years. I thought he may have been as good as Conley and better than Gray. But we don't know the reason certain players are called up and certain players aren't. There isn't room for any of the 3 this year, unless there is a trade. He might not have wanted to burn the bridge behind him.
Yea you gotta block in Shanahans offense. Snead can't block the evidence was in the ravens game. He was constantly pushed around.

Look, if you're not a team player, you're not gonna make the team, let alone get playing time. 😉 all these self entitled "so-called" athletes think they deserve everything to be handed to them. Why did nobody pick you up while you were on the practice squad? How come nobody calls the 49ers and makes an offer on you? If it's not the money they are complaining about, it's the playing time. Every time something isn't the way you want it in a relationship, entitled people will complain to anyone who will listen and spread false news about the other. I bet you every time their girlfriends break up with them, they say something negative about that woman without mentioning the good. Nothing but punks!
Roster politics is ridiculous the best players play
You think so…ask yourself why the 9ers never bring in guys to challenge or compete with the starters. Just look at O line they did nothing to improve it.
$ talks in football. So whomever makes the most $ plays.
Other than QB, $ talks. Usually, the highest paid QB gets the first crack at it. When a better, lower paid QB pops into the scene like Purdy, they get the hot hand play time. With other positions, the highest paid needs to be used to the max until the well runs dry.
Yes it's a myth if you were drafted by the current front office you have to prove you can't play.
Vs if you came in anybother way you have to prove you CAN play.
