Thanks for this video, your channel has become my goto for msfs2020 optimisation these days. Good advice, no rubbish, and lots of enthusiasm in flying. I’ve been trying the latest drivers but I was getting strange frame time spikes so rolled back to the previous drivers and they’re gone. That’s with my 4080super and a pico neo 3 link headset. Keep up the good work 👍
Thanks for checking out the new driver in VR. Looks like I'll be doing an upgrade tomorrow. In you video you mentioned you were using FX Sound to enhance the audio. Are you referring to the application available at the MS Store?
Thanks buddy for the update my question is I have a i9 13900k 4090 should I have HAGS ON OR OFF I use DLSS quality DX12 and what about variable refresh rate should that be on off? I do have a G sync monitor but I’m only a VR user with the Pimax Crystal and my resolution scale is dropped down to 3500. In the open xr tool kit. But I didn’t update to the new driver yet and im getting a steady 50 FPS. Should I be getting more? The only stutter I have sometimes is when I turn my head fast and then it stop. so any graphics settings will be appreciated. Thanks. And I also use DLSS swapper 3.7.1 should I use Nvidia profile inspector with that with profile E? And resizable bar enabled thanks
Hi Richard, HAGS on is good. Don’t worry about the variable refresh rate when you only fly in VR. You can easily update to the new nvidia driver. It’s performing great. I guess you have the Crystal running at 90 hz. So 50fps is more then enough to have a smooth VR experience. In the sim graphics settings don’t set most of the items on ultra. High is more then enough. The hardest fps hitters are: volumetric clouds, raytracing reflections, ambient occlusions, ai traffic(boats, cars and air traffic). Just go somewhat lower then you would in 2D. The image in the headset will still look great. I’m also using dlss tweaks to make use of preset E. In the sim I set dlss anti aliasing to DLAA and sharpening in the openxr toolkit to 30%. For me personally that looks better then TAA which gives to much shimmering. If you want to use TAA, set sharpening to OFF. Cheers, Mike
Since you mentioned it, I had issues with the Map enhancement program in VR. I kept getting an annoying flash when I used it, but only in VR. Any ideas what might cause that?
Hi @matthawk04 it could be DX12 or a high settings of your TLOD. Check the manual. I experienced a pink flash with the previous version, but not anymore with this one and I'm using DX12 in this video. github.com/derekhe/msfs2020-map-enhancement/wiki/Manual-EN
So you’re using DLAA and DX12 in VR? I’m using DLSS and DX 11 with my 4090. I’ll try the same settings as you have and see how that works with this new driver. Thanks!
My personal opinion, don’t use enhancement maps! Make changes in hosts files and maybe will broke the photogrammetry of the game + terrain issues, even if u uninstall this, hosts files already changed,so you must delete the ip’s that enhancement made into hosts file ,thnx for the NVIDIA update information btw
@rubzR, thanks for the feedback. I'm using the enhancement mod for about 1.5 yrs now. It never broke the photogrammetry or terrain. It's just a map that replaces the asobo bing map. Photogrammetry may look wrong as the colors of the replaced map are different but that's also the case with the photogrammetry in the city updates. You can sometimes clearly see where the photogammetry ends and the default map begins. About the hosts file: The manual clearly states which lines to remove from the hosts file. It's not a biggie. We often edit cfg files for the sim.
Thanks for the VR focus.
You're Welcome 💯

Great to hear! Thank you for your support. I hope the next driver will work for your setup.
Thanks Mike!
You’re welcome @ard1400
Great video , thank you. By the way, how do you get such a smooth vr recording with Reverb G2 ?
Thanks. I’m using a XR mirror for OBS. In the OpenXR toolkit you can use shake reduction. I have that set to -80. That gives me a smooth recording.
@@Virtusim thanks , i will try that setting.

Thanks for reaching out. Yes that's the same application.
Thanks. I just saw you had done a video on it. I'll check it out.
Great video! Why are your air traffic control voices different, and much more realistic, than mine?
Thanks, do you use also SayIntensions?
@@Virtusim Ah thanks, I'd not heard of that before. It looks great!

I'll have an update on my VR settings soon on this channel. Including some settings for HP Reverb G2 users.
What does that air traffic do if you fly in IFR conditions without getting a clearance and does the weather add icing.
You can ask for an IFR pickup in the air. There is icing in the weather, but you have to set icing on in the sim settings.

I’ve had really good success with the map enhancement program. Not hard to edit a hosts file btw.
Can DLDSR work with VR in MSFS?
The frame gen’s don’t work in VR.
