Great job, Bruce! I really like this format of video. It has a slightly different feel than your others.
Hmmmm...I think I can see that. I keep coming up with new ways to edit but I don’t stick to one. Oops
That came out awesome Bruce - I love the look of the Selfmade brackets and the tapered legs! Great video too!
Thanks, buddy! I’m glad to finally get it done. Feels complete finally. I moved with all of this wood already cut and allocated for this project. It has been sitting in my office. Ha
Beautiful bed, and beautiful room, neighbor! That's a lot of work, and you make it look very easy. Great video!
Well, thanks very much!
I'm the wrong guy to ask about thumbnails... I still have a hard time with that. But I will say that was a bold choice for the opening scene. I laughed.
That thumbnail 🤣🤣🤣 Also, great job on the bed! Gotta go watch that headboard video now!
Really appreciate that! Let me know what you think of the headboard
Great build, Bruce. The beginning and end shots had me cracking up.
Thank you! Glad I could make you laugh. Ha ha
Turned out great!
Thank you, Rod!
Looking good my brother! I need to make me a king frame.
You’re just trying to 1up me. ;)
Fantastic work, Bruce! Really beautiful bed!!! 😃
Nicely done!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Appreciate that very much!
Turned out great. Where did you get the corner brackets? Also you should of had some smooth jazz type of music playing during the thumbnail photoshoot.
Ha ha. I can’t be TOO saucy! These are made by Self Made. I’ve linked to their IG but I don’t know if they have these exact brackets any more.
Sağol Usta! Təşəkkürlər. 🇦🇿
I always enjoy watching your videos Bruce! I really like the look of those bent sheet metal parts. After watching this, I feel like I could totally do this project. Loved the thumbnail photoshoot at the end, you were working that camera
Ha ha. Had to work the camera! Thanks, Zach! Glad it was conveyed like you could do it. That’s what I was intending!
Great job on the best Bruce. May be missing your calling as a bed model. 😁
Ha ha. Man, I finally found what I’m good at.
Awesome job Bruce! Good tip on the tapered legs. Love the industrial feel of the hardware and the clean elegant finish on the maple.
Thanks! That industrial look is just something we really like.
What was the bit you were using to drill the holes on the inside of the frame?
Some people call it a hinge bit of a vix bit. It has a round part and a spring so when you push down, the actual drill bit comes out and drills a centered hole.
Great build vid Bruce! It’s cool to see the final product after hearing about it on the We Built A Thing podcast. Oh… and I would totally have chosen the thumbnail you picked too 😂👌
Ha ha. You like Saucy Bruce, huh? Thanks, AC!
@@BruceAUlrich 😎
Haha that thumbnail 😂 I’m sure the video is great as usual, but I couldn’t wait to comment!
Ha ha. Well, thank you! I was feeling a bit saucy, I guess.
I heard you discuss the slat fixing on the podcast the other method of getting the slats in place i have seen is to staple the slats to fabric webbing and then securing the top slat and the bottom slat and allowing the rest of the slats to move just a little because of the natural give in the webbing. great video, and I like your style change. although i probably wouldn't have noticed if Drew hadn't said anything. a reflection on me being poor at videography techniques!😁😁
Yeah, I think I have seen that method with the webbing. Thanks for the kind words about the video and thanks for watching!
Nailed it with the “teenage girl on the phone” thumbnail option.
Ha ha. That’s the perfect name for that pose. Now, it would be more like, “Teenage girl sending a text.”
looooove this! great video but the thumbnail is what sucked me in!
Thanks so much! That’s what I was hoping! Ha ha
Bruce acting like he's going to be painted like a French girl in the outro 😄
Ha ha. Yep!
None of them, not enough cleavage. LOL I like the style you chose, maybe one day I'll build one for my bed.
Ha ha. Story of my life!
2 mattresses? Stacked? Is this a secret to ultimate comfort?
It’s a decent mattress. No, I’m just old. Back in the day, you used to have a box springs that would go below a mattress. The new foam mattresses don’t need one but we’ve had this mattress for years.
came for the build stayed for the awkward thumbnail poses at the end
Ha ha ha. There is a lot of awkward going on!
