Wow Bruce! This project came out absolutely amazing! That’s some fine work. Thank you for letting me be a part of it. This video is stunning. Man was that one hot day!
Ugh. I think I calculated 15 hours of sanding. It was brutal! It would have been nice to have one of those larger gem sanders or even a wide belt sander. Ha ha
Okay first that slab is massive. You did a phenomenal job and it looks beautiful! I really like those truss style table legs! Love that they were inspired by railroad bridges.
Bruce my man. All the talk I heard last year on the podcast about this didn’t do any justice. This turned out spectacular. I am IN LOVE with the architectural design on the base. Bang up job man. I can’t give enough thumbs up on this. -Ben
Well, thank you! I guess I didn’t describe it well enough on the podcast. Ha ha. It really was the perfect marrying of designs with the top and base. I’m very pleased with it!
Wow!! That thing is awesome! So well done, Bruce! I love the look of those stress fractures and the bow ties! And that table base looks so cool too. Awesome job, man! Love it!
Holy cow, Bruce. What a major undertaking. I can't imagine how much work went into that table, but the end result is just gorgeous. Amazing job, Bruce! - Joe
Thank you very much! I agree...Mike knocked it out of the part on the base design and fabrication. I met with him as he was starting to build it and got to see the design and we worked together about how we would attach it to the tabletop. I was really excited to have other people see it at that point because it was such a unique design.
Amazing work, Bruce. The finish on the sapele is stunning and those truss bridge inspired legs are fantastic (I love bridges, so this really does stand out to me). Rob M.
So awesome to finally see the video. Your description on WBAT was excellent but still didn't do this project justice. Gorgeous. What were the bowties made from?
@@BruceAUlrich didn't you say in the beginning of the video, the guy who ordered the table didn't know you were making the video to show the process? I might be wrong but I'm mostly deaf now thanks to 30 plus years in the shop. 😆
@@moldings_etc ha ha. Oh, no he didn't know what the table was going to look like at all. He authorized the project, but his people wanted to keep it a secret from him. So, at the end of the video, that was his first time seeing it.

It was so freaking hot when we were working on this! And in June! Appreciate the kind words and of course the help!
Great work, Bruce!
Hey, appreciate it, Andy!
That’s massive 😳 glad I didn’t have to sand that
Ugh. I think I calculated 15 hours of sanding. It was brutal! It would have been nice to have one of those larger gem sanders or even a wide belt sander. Ha ha
Dude that thing is massive! Glad Brent was able to help you with this.
He came in clutch with the sled! It worked out really well, considering how large this thing was.
Okay first that slab is massive. You did a phenomenal job and it looks beautiful! I really like those truss style table legs! Love that they were inspired by railroad bridges.
Thanks so much! I'm really pleased with how it all turned out. Mike did a great job with that design and fabrication of the base.

Holy smoke! That is amazing. Nothing beats the satisfaction of completing a long build. Beautiful work!
Thanks so much! You're totally right about this...it makes me smile when I see it.
Very cool Bruce! That is one MASSIVE table.
Thanks so much, Greg! I think just the tabletop weighed over 800lbs, to our best estimate.
Wow! Wonderful job Bruce! Keep up the great work!
Thanks so much! Appreciate the kind words!
Fantastic work, Bruce! Pretty amazing looking table!!! 😃
The base looks fantastic as well!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks so much! I’m really proud of this one!
Wow!! That thing is awesome! So well done, Bruce! I love the look of those stress fractures and the bow ties! And that table base looks so cool too. Awesome job, man! Love it!
Appreciate it, bud! I really think those stress fractures turned out great with the black filler.
Big.
Well done, Bruce! That is one intimidating project.
I was pretty intimidated. I just kept taking it one task at a time. Thank you!
This might be the most epic conference table build ever! That slab flattener is also amazing!
That custom sled was just too cool! Thanks so much, Ethan!

Appreciate it, Joe! Yeah, it was a ton of work, but it makes me smile when I see it. And my back twinges w pain. Ha
@@BruceAUlrich oh man! Hopefully you had room in the budget for some IcyHot patches! 😂

Dang! That thing's a beast. Good work, Bruce!
Thank you! I could not believe how heavy it was!
Looks amazing! You did a fantastic job! Showed everyone that you do not need a large production shop to accomplish something like this!
That's very true...just takes a bit more engineering and time if you don't have that big production shop. Thanks!
That's an incredible piece, Bruce! I love the top, but I'm a huge fan of that base design.
Thanks so much! Yeah, I love the design of that base.
Bruce, such a great video, that table as a whole came out absolutely stunning! Mike did an amazing job on that base!
Thanks so much, bud! I really appreciate the kind words. Yeah, Mike killed it on the base he designed and fabricated!
Man this thing is just amazing my friend ……… such an epic build ……. Base is awesome as well, definitely an heirloom piece for the ages. 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
I hope it’s there for another 30 years. That’s how long the previous table was in place. Thank you for the kind words!
Great job Bruce!
Thanks so much!
Beautiful all round! Love the top obviously, but the base is a beautiful design just by itself 👍

I've been waiting for this video since you showed it on instagram. loved watching the process
Appreciate that! And I’m glad you’re patient! Ha ha. We decided to move right after this and I’m just now getting to it.
Great job Bruce! I love the video and the finished product.
Thanks, Chris! I’m proud of how it turned out!
Amazing work, Bruce. The finish on the sapele is stunning and those truss bridge inspired legs are fantastic (I love bridges, so this really does stand out to me). Rob M.
Thanks so much! I love those legs also! And the arm r sea on the sapele sure is pretty. I agree
Another great video Bruce!
Thank you, sir!
Seriously nice job! I love the base as well. Great work.
Thanks so much! I wish I had that kind of welding skill...that base was really cool and made by a talented guy.
thank you , GREAT JOB
Thanks so much!
The stand is awesome...
Yeah, Mike did a great job on that base!
So awesome to finally see the video. Your description on WBAT was excellent but still didn't do this project justice. Gorgeous. What were the bowties made from?
Thanks so much! The bow ties were made from some figured walnut.
Look at Manor Woodworks. He uses aluminum rods to help move the router to help his reach and save his back. This is a beautiful table.
Thank you! Yeah, that sounds a like what I needed.
Why didn’t you just flatten it with the journeyman!? Could have tiled that sucker and done it, right!? 😂
Maybe so! Ha ha. I didn’t have that at the time I did this table. It was last June.
You needed a slabmizer for this!
Yep! Sure did! I would have much preferred to not have so many hours sanding.
Awesome work Bruce. As was said before, your description on WBAT didn't do this thing justice
Well, Thank you! I appreciate it & sorry I didn’t describe it well enough. Ha ha
What did the guy think of the video as a bonus? Nice job on this piece. Good attention to detail and nice finish. 👌
Appreciate it! What was that about the bonus? Didn’t catch what you meant.

This was an epic project with a stunning result. Was the top coat a water based product?
Thanks so much! It is a 2-part catalized varnish that is water based.
Wow. That’s a behemoth. How much does it weigh?
Looks awesome and the bow ties are a nice touch.
Just the tabletop was probably about 800lbs. The base weighed more, I think. Ha ha. Thanks!
Sits 16 different people. As opposed to 16 of the same people.
Yep, you caught me.
Sorry bruh but I hate boeties and black ca glue. Other than that is really dope
No worries! It’s what the client wanted
Fantastic job Bruce!
Thanks so much! It was quite the project.
