According to Chris Hemsworth, the line "We're friends from work!" Was actually given to them by a sick kid who was visiting the set the day they were shooting that scene.

Hulk becoming a gladiator on planet S'Kar was actually a story from the comic book called "Planet Hulk". They used part of that story to inspire this movie.

I think you missed the context around the Eternal Flame. Surtur's power becomes limitless because it's a limitless source of fire, that specific power source for him is the key to Ragnarok. When Thor beat him earlier he was on his last legs (you can see him limping).

Here are some Ragnarok facts. Thor defeated a sickly Surtur. Odin with the space infinity stone and Hela stealing his source of power the eternal flame was barely able to defeated Surtur. Hela is Thor's half sister in the MCU but in the comic books she is the daughter of Loki. Hela Valkyrie in Thor's mother Frigga was supposed to be the same age. Hela was trapped in a hell dimension and the Valkyrie spent most of her time on the Planet Sakaar which effects the aging process differently which means Frigga was the only one of the women to age normally so that's why she seems older than the other two women. There is a animated movie called planet hulk you should see. The MCU events are different but it does provide better contacts on what happened to hulk during his two years of being missing which was longer than 2 years due to the planet Sakaar weird time dilation. That's also how the hulk's able to speak normally. After the first hulk movie Bruce figured out if he triggered the transformation he has more control over the hulk's actions. The hulk figured out how to calm down without turning back into Bruce. The hulk is nearly unkillable with his nearly impenetrable skin and incredible healing Factor which is on par with Deadpool's healing ability. So if Thor did not kill or knock out hulk at the beginning of the fight despite him being more powerful then the hulk Thor would have lost due to the fact that angry or the hulk gets the stronger he becomes so the longer a fight goes on the more it leans into the hulk winning. Thor after the death of the all father tapped into the odinforce which is a source of power Odin access to. That's also thor won't get weaker despite the planet Asgard being destroyed because now Thor's his own source of strength.

How the slave disks work is everything is weak when it goes through thr portal to get to sakaar thats how they inbed in the body in planet hulk hulk is so weak he bleeds in the great arean and a healing plant grows from his blod they call him green scar in that story line, and cierra his wife is way more bad ass than hulk

Loki's choice in this movie has nothing to do with choosing "good" or choosing "the winning side". It's about the fact that regardless of his issues over the past few movies about his origins, etc - Asgard is home to him. These are HIS people. He cares about THAT regardless of good or evil or who's winning.

You said the walk from the city of Asgard to the hemidal observatory across the rainbow bridge was unnecessary but it's necessary due to the observatory being able to use the bifrost which terrorist holds through space to travel to other worlds. If the bifrost become unstable the shock wave of cosmic energy could wipe out all of Asgard. Similar to what happened to the S.H.I.L.D bass at the beginning of the first Avengers movie. Keep in mind the bifrost was created from the tesseract. That's how hemidal observatory creates portals with hemidal using his abilities see the entire universe he can map a path through The Roots of Yggdrasil the world tree.

Thor losing his eye and becoming wiser mirrors Odin. While in the MCU Odin seems to have lost his eye in battle, in mythology Odin sacrificed his eye to drink from Mirmir's Well, which gave him great wisdom.
Also, the whole bit with "you can still rebuild if the foundations are good" thing is kind of a comment on the fact that, no, Asgard's foundations WEREN'T good. Odin built his empire on war and bloodshed, but then became "ashamed of how he got it" and covered up the true history. But Asgard's people can rebuild, somewhere that isn't tainted.

I always liked SG-1 even when it got a little bad the last few seasons when the Ori were introduced. It was kind of lame having a second group of “gods” based on earth history and folklore.

Necroposting and sorry but I think about this one. I know what drove this production and it was largely editorial. As the franchise became larger that was evident. The Dark World met with mixed reception so a change in direction was implemented at this point. Guardians Of The Galaxy was a huge sell so this and any films would thematically follow that movie as this clearly does. Likewise Black Panther. So it's clearly a different offering then the other films. I also note the Xenith Effect where films tend to become rated against other films in the franchise including retroactively, everything against Endgame therefore.
This film gets dismissed as a result. I don't approach the arts this way. I look at everything as it's own respective piece and more absorb the production then the immersion. I think this delivered very well. It is a fun, engaging movie and very mindful of the experience the audience is having. Visually as usual with MCU it is satisfying and has great dialogue. I do however understand the dissonance due to it lopping off the established romance between Thor and Jane. Noted that will picked up again in the next film so the studio listened to the audience on that one. It's a good movie though overall imo. It also did the service of introducing characters that go on to be fan favorites so it gets a gold star for that as well.
