I am Printmaker myself and own two Käthe Kollwitz etchings (the first one showed in the video), its great to see such reconstruction, very interesting. Thank you very much for this video.
In real life, I have never seen such a position of the hand (rather dangerous) or of the whetstone (which I can't really see) to sharpen a scythe (and I have seen some and even done it myself). Without the title, I would have never understood what this woman was doing. Pressing her cheek on the blade?
The peasants war was a doomed rebellion against landowners. This is an early 20th century piece of communist propaganda depicting (as ever, one dimensionally) the dignity and struggle of the working people. Never expect a communist to know how agricultural or industrial tools are used or maintained.
Amazing artistic process of construction and deconstruction thus happens an evolution.....had a chance to visit MoMA in last June ND got a chance to do a live demo of my painting based on 'origami ' titled 'Application for the patent of a paper boat '❤❤❤:Artist Francis Antony Kodankandath from Kerala, India ❤
it's amazing to see the process reconstructed like this, especially with the animation filling in each stroke in turn

I was privileged to visit the Kollwitz gallery in Berlin late last year and to see the national war memorial statue (Pieta). Wonderful.

Artistic symbolic message?

Mit manchen Werken möchte man sich nicht lagezeitig befremden, aber finde wertvoll was die festgehalten haben und gehören zu Geschichte der Kunst.
briliant!
I shall relent for my artistic mishaps.
Damn
