Enjoyed this video, I just bought an Atco 14S for £28. It had been in garage for a few years, I did the fuel in plug hole trick and it fired, took the bowl off and the bowl screw was blocked. Cleaned the carb as you did reassembled and boom it came to life, every else seems ok. Great project in my retirement cheers.
And that shite right there Michael, is the reason i gave up as a lawnmower mechanic back in 1980. As a aside i'm currently working on a 20" Ransomes Auto Certes bowling green 10 blade mower with the old BSA sloper engine on it, fired right up after the winter hibernation, and ticks over a treat.
Nice fix. Perhaps the bottom blade is a touch bent . Sure you know that the cartridge comes out for a easy check. Just a tip the cylinder height screws can be very hard to adjust if they have been sat for a while a good impact driver or a striking screw driver works well. Cheers Pete.
@@themowerman I don't think there are any importers that are bringing them to the UK though, it is a shame as it would be useful having a lawnmower that I can run on waste vegetable oil.
Interesting video. I have recently acquired a 17S, and have struggled to find anything specific on RUclips. My first problem is the gear cable grabber and safety catch on the right hand lever. They had pretty much disintegrated, so I have bought new ones, but can’t really find how they are fitted.
@@themowerman the plastic that holds the cable in place has gone! So throttle control has been affected is there a why to botch it or will it require a whole new piece? Cheers
Raymond Mason it’s hard to show you something that’s so small in the daylight. Bit as the engine fired that also shows you it had spark. Ta for the support and comment
Dennis Higgins yeah mate as I say I’m not used to this type of mower. But if you watch the next video you will see I moved it. But thanks for the comment
Great video. Lesson number one. Never leave your mower outside and uncovered. Rain and mowers don't mix. 😁

Yeah I know what your saying.. still it runs well and sold last year for good money

Very good old video. You say the 35’s isn’t your thing. Curious what you like or think is a good cylinder mower? Thanks
I like the vintage ones or Atco Balmoral Allett Kensingtons
Hi Mick,
I have a 35 S like the ione shown but there doesn't seem to be any access to jets in the carburator. Can you offer any advice?
Hi John.. send me an email with a photo of the carb.. micksmowers01@gmail.com
Do you reckon one of those 196cc diesel engines would fit on one of these Classic 35S or 43S models or would the handle be in the way?
Only one way to find out mate

Download a manual for one they are very helpful
Micks Mowers thanks for the reply. I will try to find a manual 👍🏻
Can you remember what you used to remove air filter cover, I can’t find the right size spanner
1/4 inch socket I believe... Or 8mm
@@themowerman will try 1/4 inch as 8mm was too big and 7 was too small 🤷🏻♀️
Hi, just got this exact mower. Where do you purchase your parts from please?
eBay and Amazon.. Just seen this comment. RUclips are not sending them to me for some reason.. I can only apologise
When are you doing something on Qualcast electric Panther-Punch act Atco Windsor etc
How easy is it to fix a throttle lever? Please help
