Yes, the game gets old quick as it it 98% waiting and 2% gameplay. Unless you want to pay EA, which I don’t.

Oh, it definitely is. I’m at the point where I have all this futuristic stuff that requires special things to upgrade and you have to get these canisters. it eventually becomes a money grab. I stop playing it like six years ago and my city is gigantic. Definitely a grab in the long run.
@@Jesterxr that’s a fact I used to hate having to wait for the shipments coming in on the boats and then the mad scientist some of the stuff is hard to get to build certain buildings
Worse, it's a SUCCESSFUL EA cash grab. I played it for fun back when it came out in 2015 or so.
I can guarantee you, EA wouldn't be pumping money into making content for it and sponsoring videos for an 8 year old game if it didn't still make them money.

definitely. 100 plat keys take many months to get from normal gameplay at best
It makes sense that a lot of creators take these deals around this time of year -- full time channels tend to have significant dips and need to make up for the variation.

I used to play this game all the time as a kid. But having to wait hours just to upgrade a building unless you wanted to spend money was really boring. Honestly forgot the game existed until this appeared in my sub feed
Maybe one of the upgrades are done by now.
i used to play it too but it was way too hard to earn money I think the highest level I got up to was 24 or something around the time I have to save the city from the monster in the sea or something
I had a decent city going for awhile, i would set a bunch of things to build, go play another game and then come back when i had a bit of time to kill

I remember playing this game when i was a kid and it was terrible trying to expand my city to a decent size as well as A decent transition from houses to skyscrapers because the game constantly nags you to make them.

In case someone plans to play this game, here are few things to keep in mind:
1) *Dont sell rare items for gold* (espectially storage and land expansion) even if you are too broke in the game.
2) Upgrading storage is the priority. I have heard that after level 24, getting/finding storage expansion items reduces a lot. So, check and think before levelling up quickly.
3) use simcash for unlocking slots in the commercial buildings. Only after unlocking them all, consider using for other stuffs.
4) buildings can be moved. So, instead of buying new services (fire/police/health), try to move buildings to better layout to get the existing service area coverage (if possible)
5) Dont upgrade roads. Its too costly. Just delete and build them again. Or check youtube for some legit hacks.

@@-byoma2718 the best compared to others does not mean that it is pleasant to play, with new trains it is a complete horror because they take up a lot of space, the cost is high, and this is all for the sake of meager earnings and good looks

This is a mobile game and not focused for the pc. I think the last halfway decent simcity game they had was probably sim city 4. I played sim cities socities which was the one after simcity 4 i believe and it was ok for me at least and then i think they made a another newer simcity after it but i dont remember much about it so that kind of speaks for itself in my opinion.

That aside, Jesus christ, material waiting, loot boxes with cards that you need to collect 10+ of, microtransactions for materials, which you can also accelerate with premium currency... No, no, nononono I've never seen a game I wanted to stay SO far away from...

Fun factoid: it appears that the Central Station is modelled after Amsterdam Centraal in the Netherlands (note: I could be wrong, there are multiple train stations in the Netherlands that have a similar design)

You are correct. Of the three biggest cities (Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Den Haag) AC is the only one that looks that historical. Rotterdam and Den Haag are both very modern in design. While it's possible they might have picked another station from a much smaller city, that's unlikely.
And Royal X is moedelled after King's Cross in London
I live in the Netherlands (Lucky me not in Amsterdam) but I have been there. And yes, it kinda looks like it. I mean for a game like this quality it surely looks great!

It's a shame. SimCity 2013 was so badly received that they disappeared for a long time and were trounced by Cities Skylines. Then Cities Skylines 2 was launched and it was so badly received (seriously 12 FPS on a 3080+7700X) that SimCity has a real opportunity here. And they give us this. I wish this video showed how many more delays and in-app purchases are required to level up in the course of this 24 minute video. How much time did this really take to level up?
I played build it a while back. My review I posted showing their money grabbing and pay walling got my review flagged and taken down...
Also I like that EA gave you tons of in game currency to show that stuff off because it would take actual months or longer to grind to get that stuff without paying actual money...
Love ya RCE but I can't stand cash grabbing mobile games.
Also RCE plays mobile games on PC and at the end it was so laggy. Can't imagine how it performs on mobile.

Simcity < cities skylines
One qick note in terms of residential zones in this game, its not necessary to spam residential zones to level up and get money, because it consumes more space and service demand (power, water, fire, police etc.), you rather upgrade each unit to the max level
Im building a new one and when i can upgrade just to build it and get money i just demolish later.. and build new one
On this way the resources for lvl 1 upgrade coasts low

you people dont know that this game has been out for about a decade. so many other people have been playing this for a long time, WITHOUT Paying. Now I know EA likes to Cashgrab, But this game in particular gives you a good feeling after each accomplishment through years of playing.

Day 120 of asking Matt to add the Second Narrows Bridge, Ironworkers Memorial to the Wheel of Bridgetune
It is a cantilevered truss bridge, carrying 6 lanes of traffic from Vancouver to North Vancouver in B.C. across the second narrowing of the Burrard Inlet.
It's name comes from the fact that it collapsed twice during construction, which unalived 23 people in total (Hence the name, ironworkers memorial).

Drives me insane that sim city build it still has better looking assets than cities skylines one 😭, had to download 3000 assets on cities skylines just to make the game look nice.

I didn't know this game existed and my first impresion is: yea, that's an ea game
I used to play this game & I wasted so much money that I quit the game since it's literally just about waiting for stuff to be produced and sold so you could get money to build just a construction site with upgrades required so it could turn into a house/building, which turns into a loop. 💸
I have actually had this game downloaded on my phone for about six years. My city is pretty gigantic but I stopped playing because some of the things you need to get require money and then you can sell stuff at the auction place and then you have the mad scientist, it was pretty fun until I got to the point where it was money driven

You can tell that he either was given tons of resources to progess or he switched to a different city bc all of a sudden he is at 20k+ population with 100 keys. (That takes a while since I played it before)
The trains should run independently in each city. We should also have at least one small railstation for each city. All the trains in each city should fill the same bank though.

Downloaded this game last week, played twice and uninstalled, no sense in playing a game where the main mechanic is to wait to grind things to build in a builder game... EA cashslutting at its finest
