For me I was living in a household of emotional abuse. I related my pain to it. The family says they love you and get to push you around for their own benefit. You're just a kid...you have no power to do anything but sit there and shut up praying for any escape. So that's why I liked it. It echoed my pain.
That reminds me of a guy I worked with who said the Hinder song Lips of an angel was for his girl I paused and said have you actually listened to that song lol
Push was a great song. I get why you'd be ashamed of it, but I don't think you should be ashamed. It resonates because it resonates. DON'T BE ASHAMED! True artists tell it like it is, no how pollical parties want it to be.

imo its about someone that realizes that they are trapped in a toxic relationship because of their low self esteem. “If I want to push you around, I will” to me is this person saying that they cant take it anymore, and they are going to start sticking up for themselves. They realize its hopeless and that once they do the toxic partner is going to leave, and the song is them coming to terms with it. Just a theory.
Last Night some lady gave me her card as a "talent agent" after I sang Real World at Karaoke. Texas. She said "this country needs your voice" to which I replied "how much do you charge?" She laughed, called me cute, and said call the number on the card if I want to sing Infront of more than 30 people. I told her "I'm good", then she replied "You are, thats why you should call" Legit or nah?
