Rob Thomas is the only rock singer, maybe the only signer, that I've ever seen where every single syllable, every single note, every single breath, and every single word is sang like it's literally the only one in the entire song. I just cannot fathom the depth of concentration he must be capable of to keep that up for an entire song, no, and entire show. It's incredible.
And I haven't even gotten to the point about his voice or breath control, and the way he directs the sound waves throughout the vocal cavities in his body.
It's just unreal. Absolutely unreal how fully and utterly dedicated every single utterance in any song he sings is- from the first breath he takes, to the first consonant, to the vowel shape, the flinging, direction and control of air and sound, to the last audio clasp.
I have never seen anyone else like it.

about 16 years ago the came to Terre haute Indiana, they pretty much died off then but anyway only about 1000 people showed up and they still played and they played like there was 20,000 people there, anyways me and my wife at the time were having problems and during this song I looked over at her and I thought to myself " I'm gonna wake up tomorrow and leave her" and I did, best move I ever made.
I heard them for the first time when I was away from home I found the CD and bought it on the strength of the first sound since then I have seen the same music fronted by at least 2 different singers the first being a girl and now this. Still liking the overall sound so I am not complaining just listening :)

Matchbox 20 represents when music was REAL. When you could actually FEEL something which should be every artists purpose for being in music instead of record sales and mainstream lyrical garbage big labels impose on us nowadays. Beautiful and well written song.
I couldn't agree more. The last 15 years has just been an onslaught of soulless, manufactured crap. The days of the rock band seem over. At least we got bands like MB20 and Incubus towards the end.

Great song from my generation! The 90’s were the last decade of real music and this band in my opinion was one of the most underrated of that decade. Matchbox 20 never failed to give you everything in their music including their heart! Bravo boys! Love ya!

What a band! Rob's voice is balm for the soul. His songwriting is on another level. This IS Pure talent. WAAY TOO UNDER-RATED IMO. AMAXING LIVES. THEY sound as good or better live than on recordings. A TRUE SIBN OF Talent.

The best singers can do two things: 1. Change from rough and coarse to soft and smooth at the flip of a switch 2. Scream with complete rhythmic and pitch control. Rob can do both in spades.

I am 53 years old and have been going to concerts for at least 43 of those years. My first was Cream in San Francisco just before they broke up. I rarely listen to anything produced in the last 20 years, but I discovered Rob by way of his work with Santana, gave the band a listen, and here I am ten years later as one of their biggest fans. Good lyrics that mean something; better than average musicianship; and the ability to sound as good if not better live than on recording. What's not to like?

Just bought my tickets for his 2023 tour. There is just something about this band and Rob Thomas. So him in Orlando in 1995. Best music came out of the 90s.
