I worked in the ferguslie mill in the 70 s first on the machines then we had a trst and as scoted 16:26 the highest i became a desk girl and quality control when at 16 you were called out for your wages one of the older women would pin them to your overall loved it
great story and film :)..having stayed in this area my whole life,i remember as a kid playing on this whole site and seeing the many buildings still there,it was such a shame that these buildings were all neglected and torn down, they were a very valuable part of the towns history!.
Thank you, but it did make me angry about the shear destruction of our historical buildings. I can remember Ferguslie mill being knocked down and could not believe, at the time, they got away with pulling down such a gorgeous building.
I was born in. Paiisley . One day I was with Stuart Mcarthey in the Bungalow bar.The hotel California was playing.Later , I saw saw the Revillos therel. John Peel said that Paisley was the centre of civiviliisation in Scotland . I feel very sorry for Paisley.

Only just came across this video. Thank you for posting.
Fantastic video, very sad that we have lost so many magnificent buildings.

Fascinating and interesting. I remember some of these buildings after they had fallen out of use.
It's a tragedy that most haven't survived.
Sadly the half timers school is currently great piles of rubble. Such a shame. Thanks for the great footage of how it once looked
I attended the half time school.
Not as a pupil but when it was the Cotton Club and The Institute.
Great building.
I live where the old football park was. I believe this was the Stables building area as well. Really enjoyed this film.
