  • In today's video we are going to review a rather unusual piece of gear for us. This is our first review of this type, and we don't have any experience using similar sleeping systems. It is going to be a Forclaz Tropic 500 Hammock from Decathlon. We've never slept in a hammock and have no idea how to properly set up one; this is all new to us. However, we've received quite a few comments about hammocks, and we know that some people really love this system and prefer a hammock over a traditional tent. That's why we've always been very interested in trying out a hammock ourselves and trying to find all the pros and cons of this construction. So we think this will be an interesting review and we'll try to make it as informative as possible.
Disclaimer: we are not sponsored by Forclaz or Decathlon; all the products we review from this company are entirely our initiative. We just enjoy testing and using the gear from this company, so we review many items from this brand.
You can buy Forclaz Tropic 500 Hammock on Decathlon website of your country.

We are a couple who once fell in love with mountains and couldn't get back. So we decided to follow our heart and move from a big city to a small village to be able to do what we love and to create this content. Our goal is to promote the healthy lifestyle, to motivate people to travel more and care for nature around. We are passionate walkers who love hiking, trekking and camping. We offer the detailed information of our hikes and routes, including the map and all the directions, so that you can repeat it if you'd like to.
We choose walking over driving and other types of transportation whenever we can because we learnt that this way we see so much more and can explore and feel the place better. Walking is an excellent activity that has so many benefits to your health and requires no special equipment or practice, so we encourage you to get the most out of it and get out walking.
We speak English, Spanish, French and Russian, so don't hesitate to address to us in your native language.

What are your thoughts about this Forclaz Tropic 500 Hammock? And what did we do wrong?

  • @iszymek2760

I use quechua comfort and my own net cause it’s wider and I can sleep diagonally reducing the rocking of hammock. Also in the end it’s visible that You didn’t hang it at the same height on both sides and it will greatly reduce comfort! If You want to have the head higher just use some pillow. Hope that helps

  • @erwanthomas

You have to attach it higher and the same height on both side.

Best affordable Hammocks are DD Hammocks in Scotland. Check them out...

  • @marksardar4557

Mist be set up with lines at 30 degrees and foot end about 20cm higher than head end. Once set up correctly is most comfortable sleep possible. Did your mummy not rock you to sleep?
