If the scriptwriters did a better job the show would probably be easier to watch in the nostalgic childhood version but they really didn't know what they were doing with the writing of dialogue. I grew up in a country with this dub and as I grew up I realised how bad some of the dialogues were. The scriptwriters were probably inexperienced and there is also the fact that they made it extra pg and altered a lot of info. Trying to make the concept of death not exist was crazy, and i laugh at it now, but I can understand how I as a kid watched this. When you are a kid you have less judgement and you just watch tv for what is happening, not the execution (voice acting, animation, scriptwriting.) Also, big green dub sucked apples.
I remember when DBZ went on a long break and Goku knocked out recoome and it showed him battling Jeice and Burter the next episode. We were so hype for the new episodes. When they came back the voices were different as well as the music and i couldnt put my finger on it. Im glad they made the change to funimation. Bruce falconers score was legendary.
