- Everything wrong with my 2020 a90 Toyota supra mk5, it broke a few times within the 1st month..it may have been my fault. The Toyota Supra mk5 is a beautiful car and we are so grateful to have it. These are a few things I have noticed over the last month that may be an issue for most that are looking for a supra...IF YOUR TALLER THAN 5'5" BEST OF LUCK :D

My 4 year old Supra is 87k miles and 0 issues, just regular maintenance. I’m also 6ft 2, no issues at all. I love my Supra B58 motor
I love it too and those miles make me feel great lol
Dude complains cuz he doesn't know how to adjust his seat...and pulls out a scanner with a bumper to bumper warranty
I’m a tall guy so I’m glad you haven’t had issues.
I live in a quiet older neighborhood. The car is perfectly fine out of SPORT mode. I always take my Supra out of Sport mode when turning into my neighborhood and have received zero noise complaints from neighbors. What do you need to have your car in Sport Mode when driving down a 25 mph residential street anyway??? It's a button push to keep your neighbors happy.
100% for the most part we put it in comfort mode while coming into the neighborhood at night. even with no valves in the exhaust its pretty quite as long as you dont hit the gas hard.
It’s his car he can put it in sport mode anytime he wants…I’m sure u don’t want anybody telling u what to do with ur car why u tryna tell him what to do
@@billnye5183 I think you missed my point. The comment I responded to expressed concern the car was loud (in or out of sport mode) and that neighbor complaints might arise. My comment was that it really isn't loud, especially out of sport. I don't care how he wants to run his car into his neighborhood one bit. Take a chill pill Bill.
I understand your point my car in sport mode sounds like a race car & the cold start is really loud, but that's why I have a valvetronic exhaust which closes the valves in comfort & normal mode

The right mirror goes to so you can see the lines while you are backing in. It can be turned off by switching the adjuster slider to the other side.
Also useful when parallel parking to avoid curbing your wheels.
Only actual bmw owners know this lol I always thought it’s funny when people get pissed off about it

Black looks good for about 90 minutes after washing it… then its time for a wash again. I was willing to get my Supra in any color but preferably not yellow. I was content to get silver.. would’ve preferred phantom grey or red but silver is plain Jane and low maintenance and kinda shows off the curves pretty nicely

if you ever end up getting one definitley get a dark color like that dark blue or red colors like these always look amazing at night and the sun
Honestly none of these are really issues. Aside from whatever happened with your tune. I’ve had my A90 since August 2019, and have never had any of these issues. Exhaust too loud? Keep a valvetronic system, never had complaints from noise. Actually selling my FI catback if you want 😈. Sound system is pretty good actually, however I had to adjust the insulation around the speakers, all under warranty. After those adjustments the system is pretty good, not great, but not bad. It’s a great car overall, has to be my favorite car I’ve ever owned. B58 in the Supra is truly an amazing engine.

The mirror problem is easy to fix, just change the mirror adjustment side switch (left or right mirror just under the arrows to adjust mirrors) to the opposite side.
Confirm if it worked.
the problem is that its not a problem! side mirrors tilt down when on reverse so that the driver can see the curb if you're parking not to hit or damage ur rims or car... that's a very old tech I'm surprised ppl think its a problem

@@tareqjawdat6401 yup standard german car feature. Its even on my wife's honda pilot. Just leave it in the middle if you don't want either. Its a great feature for parallel parking.
@@tareqjawdat6401 It actually is too severe a tilt though. The factory setting is a 50% tilt when backing. I got a bluetooth dongle and recoded the car's codes to a 30% tilt. Much less severe and no problem whatsoever seeing the curbs when parking.

So you barely got it, modded the heck out of the engine, and you think it’s unreliable? Did you even drive it long enough to break in the engine?
The side mirror going to the ground in reverse happens in a lot of the newer bmw’s it’s so that you can look at the lines on the ground when reversing

The B58 is such an incredible engine. Was surprised to hear you say a lot of people say it's bad.

@gary the B58 is hands down the best most reliable engine BMW has ever made.
Nah. It's great in the supra. Because Toyota inspected and modified it.
@@zeusman5195 It's literally the same motor in each car lol. It's a great engine and platform in the M240i, M440i, Supra, Z4, M40i, and 340i. Toyota barely did anything to it, but the Supra isn't a BMW.
You can also program in sport plus for the engine and transmission. Try it out and see if you can notice the difference in shifting. Works great for mine.

Got mine 6 months ago, a red 3.0 Supra GR for $61k😁I'm 5'9" fit, can imagine it getting less comfortable for someone taller, and if they are on the bigger side, can imagine it being difficult since you gotta bend your knees extra to get into this car. Also had a small pebble in the breaks too and a nail in the tire that I replaced. Even though BMW has a bad reputation on reliability, crossing my fingers this car is more on the reliable side. Mine at 15,000km now.
I hit my head on the pillar almost every week as I forget about it lol
I have a question I was planning on getting 3.0 Supra why is it 61k is because of taxes ? And what was you’re credit score and down payment if you don’t mind me asking ?

I always thought it looks awesome in black. However I bought the a91mt in Cu later gray. Truly an awesome car. Always was a fan of the 911 but I feel the Supra's looks and handling are more pure sports car and very happy with it. Interestingly, the Supra outperforms the base new 911 carrera and carrera T in both auto and manual

I too am a fan of both and they truly are amazing machines; but the base 911 is quicker and handles better than the Supra in the real world. The Supra is a heck of a deal for the price difference and that's why we went that route.
@@SUBREW not true. Look at the manufacturer numbers. Supra is faster with more horsepower and more torque.

One suggestion: the title is a bit misleading: It should say “Everything wrong with my pre-owned and *highly* modified Supra”. Stock Supras are pretty reliable.
I own a 22 Supra with 15k miles. It’s my daily and I love it. I’m 6’2” and it took me about 30 seconds to figure the correct method to get in an out of this car without looking like a fool.
You are obviously a car guy and have great passion!
If youtube would let me use longer titles i would :D Im getting used to getting in and out..once in while ill still hit my head lol
Do you feel like its uncomfortable as a tall person?
The car is totally comfortable. It’s my daily driver with over 16k miles and no comfort issues. It took me a few tries to get in w/o bumping my head, but I figured out how to enter and exit it easily.
ive had my supra for like 3 weeks and the only problem ive had so far is the carplay disconnecting everytime i shut the car off
I’m buying a 22 Outlander for my daily. If I want remote start, I would need to spend $300 plus/year for the app to get that. There is supposedly an aftermarket option that takes a good time installing to use my original fob. Glad I have a pretty big garage for activities!

He's right about the sound system,is crap for sure but then you complain about the RS3 radio for not been touchscreen but MY GOD is sounds incredibly GREAT,the best sound system i ever heard so far.
DON'T forget,that 5 pot sound is all HARMONY 😁
I seen they make an aftermarket sound system for the car....but at $2k..i don't know if its worth it.
Can't be as bad as the sound system in the Mark 4. It sucked in my car. I never listened to it at all.

The mirror goes down when you parallel park so you don’t hit the curb all BMW cars do that.
The automatic mirror tilt in reverse makes sense when you live in the city 😉

Think you're the first person to catch it finally lol it was for a thumbnail and to show the engine.
In reverse the mirrors go down so you can see the edge of the rear tires so you don’t scrape wheels on edge of cement.
I've got a 2023 M340 and I love the B58 engine, I too am murdered out. Great content, and btw I believe the reason for our mirrors going down when we go in reverse is I think so you can watch for curb sides not to scrape the wheels. but that's just my thought!
I'm 20 on the list for a 2023 (not sure how many ppl are manuals, but thats what i want). Huge dealership in Oakland that sells at MSRP.
I'm on the fence about getting it, I'll see where the used market is. If people will pay north of $70k to get the manual, when mine arrives, I'll do it. $64K (including tax) is a lot for a second car, as there is no way i'm putting 15k miles on this a year, and parking it in SF or oakland.
paying a premium to have something now vs waiting a year or so until the market calms down which it will in my opinion would be worth the wait :D If you find a good price get it!
Your passenger mirror goes down so that way you can see your back tire no more curve rashes

Thats why if one day i get one, I won’t modify at all, i like cars but i enjoy them stock, i wanna avoid future problems, the only thing I would buy its wheels and suspension and that it for me

the 8 speed zf in this car is really smooth, if you told me it was a DCT id believe you, coming from a r35 GTR. It can be about as aggressive as a DCT but be smooth and drivable when not stomping on it. my FBO tuned ecu and tcu is always has too much drama even in bumper to bumper traffic where u can hear the clutch engage each time 1-2 gear.

Your car will pull timing fast with that Injen intake. It's the worst intake with keeping the IAT temps down.

@@Gabe_Ortega I am running meth and am very happy with the results. You will want to get a charge pipe with two meth bungs though. I definitely feel like running a dual nozzle is better. The Injen charge pipe only has one.
Factory intakes and those styled similar are the best for practical street use. Idling, sun, etc. Strict dyno tuning doesn’t account for allllll these factors

The mirror goes to the floor so you can use it to watch a curve when parking.. since they know we like to park our nice cars closest to the curve to avoid cars on both sides lol

Dude your car goes into the parking mirror mode, you might have to check how to turn it off, every time you tick into reverse, it goes down to make sure you don't touch the curb

The mirrors go straight to the floor so that you don't scrape your wheels. Lexus and Toyota have this feature. Oh and now Tesla too.

So basically you have no problems? u mod the car and then a check engine light comes on and then blame the car for it? rocks inside the braking rotors? its a supra not an offroader, where did the rock come inside from? the mirror going doin so that u can see the curb while reversing isn't a problem i blv? but it might be annoying if you don't like to check the reverse area that way.
car was modified properly, no lights should have been expected. Behind the supra brake rotor is a massive Air deflector that directs air to the brake system, works great..also works great for picking up rocks on the road. The window in the rear is actually pretty small so i rely on the mirror alot, however The app called BimmerCode Fixed alot of the mis stuff that didnt make sense ...Like the active sound. A few minor tweaks to the supra makes it a amazing car for the price. :D I appreciate your Comment :D

Technically its a rebadged z4. Still a sweet car. I just wish Toyota would have made an actaul Supra.

Now i'm wondering if I should wait for a refresh model to take care of those issues on the current model. I sat in the automatic supra and fell in love with it, but I want to make sure I make a smart choice. Ugh its sooooo tempting, though,lol.
This one's a 2020, first year always have alil bugs..the 2021 and some 2022 have engine failures (consumes oil). Might be worth looking into a 2020 or a 2023
This dude is a moron who doesn't know anything. I mean he's complaining about the mirror parking option that's been standard on high end cars since 2006 and the fact he doesn't know how to adjust his seat. I've seen people over 6" fit in these with NO issue.

I should make a video, but I haven't had 0 issues. Put about 13,000 miles..hard miles and haven't skipped a beat. Besides tires wearing out fast. Pretty impressed with it.

The clutch plate wears out by 120k miles, and requires a rebuild. Automatics are throw away transmissions. Just wait for it.

Lol I hope the 65k is with all your mods... or you got ripped off. As for the light, come on what do expect when you tune a new car. The mirror tilt is so you don't curb your wheels when parallel parking. Gratz on the supra they are a beast.
65 with all those mods, which is the main reason. I dont think I could have justified to spend all that money on the parts and the car lol glad it came with it all. Thanks!
