Great video of the brand of the moment! I think I prefer the older 911 cabins, the rush to touch screens is understandable but I am old school. Porsche's main competition is their last gen cars, that is the best compliment I can give a car maker.
I’ve driven the Cayman GTS (temporarily bought it...that’s another story), and it is quick as stink. Very well appointed, and it was optioned up as well. But then I ordered the 992 C4S, very highly optioned up, and this car is...just really something else. It just does “everything” superbly. Going on 7,000 miles now behind the wheel and I can’t think of ever needing, or wanting, a faster or more capable car. Great balanced review of the two cars, gentlemen.
Manual transmission convertible VS. Automatic hard top? The debate ends right there for me. I'm a liter sport bike rider who figured if a get a car that's fun enough to drive I'll ride my bike less, which is probably a good way to stay alive. Bought a Boxster and I love it. I'd consider an older, manual, convertible 911 but not this version.
Absolutely excellent job, I loved to watch that! And I can truly understand every comment of you about gearbox and driving feel. The boxster or Cayman are such great drivers cars, 911 same, but got a bit wide for b roads nowadays (at least here in Bavaria, Allgäu). Had a short drive with a 991.2 GTS convertible last autumn and honestly speaking it's too fast for b roads (at least for me). One second too long with WOT and you can say bye to your license. With bit less power (and weight) and the manual gearbox it's a perfect car for having fun without being scared of a police car after the next corner. Loved to see you having fun with those great cars! And for those who say, Porsche's are overpriced: yes, they are, but after you drove one for a while, you'll catch yourself thinking "well, it's expensive but not totally unreasonable". Greetings from Bavaria, great video
Get a 911 or get a Boxster and keep your V8 RS5, your Cayman S and your R53 Mini Cooper S. Give me lots of needles, acupuncture for my driver aches. Two thumbs up, one each for each of us.
911 is GT I did not felt relaxed behind the wheel. Never I knew where is the edge of the driving experience. I have sold it and bought Cayman. Size is ok, power band is ok, finally I have the right experience.
Great video guys! Really good reviews, covering everything you would want to know. I really like the spec of the 911! Look forward to more similar back to back reviews!
Nice review of the driving dynamics of those 2 very very nice cars. I liked the fact that you don't have the typical comments of the spoiled journalists. It felt real and exciting. Well done. Unfortunately, the sound (voices and car exhaust) was a bit of a letdown.
12:22 the active dampers (PASM) are always on and operating. When you press the PASM button you tighten to Sport mode but that doesn’t mean they are off when the light is off.
RUBBISH PDK everytime Drove a 987 PDK MUCH quicker 0-60 and 0-100 (neary a second quicker) Total control quicker change down Why waste time using the wiggly thing in between the seats and the Clutch PDK gives you much more control 992 Has everything - just need to make sure you dont put your foot down to early LAUNCH CONTROL in either Foot on brake hard down on accelerator then release brake Try it
The 718 is what the 911 used to be. Who would’ve thought that, but it’s true.
Honest review. Thank you! Most people only go about the sound of the 718 or the other party goes „this is the true sports car“. You didn’t. Thank you!

i know what you mean but the arse on the 992 is now too big. altogether a more serious car

Why do the Carrera S vs the Boxster T? Should have been Cayman T vs Carrera!
Correct comment, because then both would find out that power band is not so different and 911 is more GT than sports car.
Absolutely excellent job, I loved to watch that!

Greetings from Bavaria, great video
Thanks as always mate. Yes the 911 is far too fast for the road but such a nice thing to drive. If I had the money I’d get one!
my God that boxsters a pretty car!
great video guys! I test drove them both and came to the same conclusion - the 911 is just so expensive, but it's the one i want

Love your “work” guys! Keep it up!
Thanx from the U.S.!
Cheers
Thank you very much!
The big question would be the boxster t vs a 991.2 carrera which you could now get for similar money?
Great video guys! Really good reviews, covering everything you would want to know. I really like the spec of the 911! Look forward to more similar back to back reviews!
Love the BOSAY stereo!!
Cracking video as always gents, keep well, stay safe.
Thanks mate.

Lost all respect 16.59 mark😢😢😢😢the guy with the glasses is cool tho never have I heard so hearting words
Great vid... however what’s this trend of not wearing ones seatbelt properly?
I'm going straight into sport+ 😂 another great video 👏 I think if Gary had the carerra he'd lose his licence sooner rather than later.
The T bout as good as it gets in a convertible, but underdone with that 2.0, needs the 2.5 from the S 😍 imho
Great video.
I specced Boxster T to my taste and resulted in £65k. A lot of money which could get a previous gen 911 or 981 GTS (better car) saving £15k.
992 an executive car 😂

Great video. Thanks! Why is park assist a must gents?
Seems to me as though the better comparison would be the cayman gts w the 4 liter 6 and this 911 but with the manual
Great video, any more vids on the BMW touring?
Thanks. Yes, it’s the next video will deal with the last round of repairs and fixes.
I prefer the 265 road TAX for the 2.0T
Not really a first at all. Not even close to a first for Porsche to have a 4 cylinder.
Who else thinks the best looking boxters were the early 986s? More like 550 Porsche spyder imo ,greetings from Los Angeles Cali!!
Vladimir Alvarez Totally agree, love the fluid lines with no creases.
987.2 is the best...I own one
eddie gray 🤔🤔🤔🤔 cool!
I used to own a 911, then I got a Miata. happy now.
Yes it is
boxter is a great car, but the 911 is THE 911... no comparison.
Had to stop watching because audio was so bad.
The better comparison should have been the 992 vs. Boxster GTS with 6 cylinder 4.0L Boxer engine.
Please do something about the sound quality while driving.
992 Carrera S has a manual transmission option.
Not at time of review.
Bozey stereo! Have a word with yourself!
RUBBISH
PDK everytime
Drove a 987 PDK MUCH quicker 0-60 and 0-100 (neary a second quicker)
Total control quicker change down
Why waste time using the wiggly thing in between the seats and the Clutch
PDK gives you much more control
992 Has everything - just need to make sure you dont put your foot down to early
LAUNCH CONTROL in either Foot on brake hard down on accelerator then release brake
Try it
"MUCH quicker 0-60" This is where you miss the point. Macan is faster than a classic 911. Which is more fun?
No job thanks
