Thanks, Chris. Great video! Just changed my 'D' bulb by following your video. UK, Previa, 20 years old this month. As Jon said, it's possible to replace them without unplugging anything, but then, we're standing on the shoulders of giants! Thanks again!
if you guys don't have access to another bulb as it can be dealer part only. Try replacing the D faulty bulb with the L bulb which is hardly used. Awesome video Chris. No messing and straight to the point. Nice one.
Thanks Chris that is the exact same problem I have with my 2000 Tarago. I’ve been putting off fixing it as I wasn’t sure but now you’ve shown me. I owe you a coffee bro.👍
Thanks Mate, when you go to the dealer make sure you take the old bulb with you so they can match it. It took a couple of special orders before they got the right one.
Thank you for posting! I ended up swapping my 2 or 1 bulb, as I did not want to assemble everything again to drive to Toyota, do not believe I have ever used those selections since owning my Estima.
Great.i have just bought 2000 tarago and warning light plastic is all scratched not sure if any globes are blown,do you have video on how to replace the clear cover from the circuit board and what lights are there.
I don't have any videos on that yet, Toyota only sells that unit as one so if you have to change the cover the best bet is the wreckers/ junk yard to look for a replacement
Great video, thanks. There should be a additional bulb to light all shift options in the dark. I assume it is the One right to shift bulbs. I hva an issue with this bulb. This video will help to solve it. Thank you once again
Yes, that bulb is probably the next to go on mine, lol (after 'D' has already). Why do these b**s make it so difficult to change a bulb? - the moulding looks as though they could have made the shift plate pop out, which would have made it infinitely easier. My first car had column shift and its ONE tiny indicator bulb was replaced by taking out ONE SCREW.
it looks like my bulb for showing whether the light is on or off is not working any more. I am not sure if you know which bulb should be replaced in order for it to be visible again.
Chris, see you got a fancy plug into yer radio unit or lighter port - was wondering about adding a "12V Car Audio Stereo Bluetooth AUX Receiver Module 2RCA Interface Cable Adapter" to my 2003 Estima - but no one anywhere seems to list the Estima radio unit as compatible with any of these devices!!! MY real desire is to add a Bluetooth facility, or at least a USB port, that I can connect to the back of my radio - so looking at lots of things but cannot find any thing that list my Estima radio as 'compatible'. Just if you've tried this 'mod' or know someone who has :) It's obviously easy with some sort of adapter that'll plug into the back of the unit ( then reroute USB port or bluetooth device to inside of dash.) - but none of the units I've looked at say it;s for a 2003 Estima - actually not even Tarago's or Previa's are mentioned. Do you have any advice/info on this area. And hey, yeah my 'drive' light went too :) Gregg :) Perth, Western Australia
@@chrisbiker919 Good enough, I'll visit AutoPro - similar to Auto One - it was one thing I haven't yet done :) And you can always employ a bluetooth dongle in the USB port :) Thanks Chris :) It's refreshingly good to find someone who's got an early 2000's Estima and showing us mugginses how to fix things :) OHHH - did it cost much to get yer USB port connected ?
I haven't done that yet, but after you remove this part of the dash take out the glovebox and the center radio cover and unscrew the bolts that hold the HVAC controls. You should see a bunch of 10mm headed bolts that hold the dash in place everything else is clips and push pins. Hope this helps.
...and I have problem whit rear fog light - switch and light indicator works but not power comes to back door. Have you some tip? Fuse for back fog not exist? I find just for front fof light.....THX
I had to get the bulb from a Toyota dealer, the bulb is smaller than a T5 and was not available at any of my local auto stores ie: SuperCheap, Repco, Bursons.
@@chrisbiker919 I've had to replace two low beam headlights - triued to do it myself, but it was too difficult (at 71) - so got Kostera;s Garage to do it - gave them the new bulbs I'D BOUGHT - but because it's imported those bulbs are different, and are about $90 - not $18 :)
is there a bulb on engine light ? mine keeps going on&off just doing my head, took to garage & tgey say car has no fault codes, but then why light keeps switching on&off ❓ weird
There is but if it works at all it is still good. If they can't read codes it might be a fault in the ECU. Good Luck all these parts are getting Harder to find.
@@chrisbiker919 Its actually next to the right lights of gear selection. Its a bulb, just pulled it out so no more annoying engine light. Your video was spot on m8 and helped me find and saved me time. Thanks for sharing your knowledge 👍 much appreciated

Great, thx for ur videos, is there a scan tool which works with Toyota estima's?
If you have a 2006 or newer most of the scan tools will work, if it is older SnapOn makes a good one but they are expensive

I don't know if there is a fuse for the back fog lights, maybe there is a short in the wires on the way back to the rear or a bad ground.
Thanks.... you didn't record the bulb type? I want to replace with LED equivalents. T5's???

Chris, my lights next to a/c heater some are not working, do you know how to change them ❓
Unfortunately this HVAC is solid state and you would have to break it to get into it. Maybe a electronic engineer could take it apart and fix it.
