    That's a boat I could live on for a couple of years I reckon. A lovely retirement experience perhaps - buy a boat like this, live on it for a couple of years, sell it on for not much loss, then move onto the next part of your life.

    I've found the best way for me to watch these great videos. I play them at twice normal speed, with the sound turned down. Then I go back at normal speed to the sections that interest me most (accommodation and engines usually), and enjoy them with Aquaholic's great commentary. That bypasses his laudable thoroughness with aspects that don't interest me, and gives me intense bursts of the voice over matching my favourite bits.

    Wow! I totally love it! The master stateroom is awesome...! A very sociable and homely boat, very cleverly designed. The little wooden door between the master stateroom and the engine room is so strange...imagine the noise when you are under way!! Excellent galley with seating. The engine room is crazy low...that's an 'on all fours' type of engine room....but I totally love this boat. Really super guest cabin...always lots of light, no claustrophobia anywhere...wow, this is one of my fave's so far!

    A lot of space on this and you are right that the rear cabin is more like a bedroom; I also think that semi-displacement is a great idea even if you don’t do extreme weather, I can assume it is a nice gentle ride! Thanks Nick

  • @mmsmits2868
    @mmsmits2868 3 года назад +1

    Extremely interesting boat. The woodwork is beyond gorgeous - and instantly dates the boat. It's really a shame, because I can appreciate the enormous amount of work that must have gone into it. But then it has those engines, and you really understand what this boat is all about! It's like that 1970s Land Rover that looks dated but will still get you to where you're going, in the rain, through the mud, and still in style, even if it is dated. Thanks for the tour!

      It’s funny I was thinking the total opposite of your comment. That why has this layout gone out of style and I wish some company would build a modern interior for this aft cabin layout. But, I totally respect your opinion as well.

    • @1x3dil
      @1x3dil 3 года назад

      @@bradvitz2531 hi sir I think I was also wondering how much it would cost to day to get an equivalent boat even without the wood finish. And yes the layout would be better utilised undoubtedly , but if money dictates compromises must be made. And judging by how well it is constructed it’s still got a long life ahead of it . As a long term project it has great possibility’s , and someone like your good self could bring out its full potential. Best wishes and kind regards 😀👍👍👍

    What a FANTASTIC live-aboard! Love this boat. There's got to be a generator stuffed in there somewhere. Air conditioning and heat...just fabulous. I love the cherry interior and cherry is my favorite wood in the furniture I build. So rich as it gets darker with age and smells wonderful when you cut it. That's a lot of power in a semi-displacement boat and those straight sixes must have a ton of torque. The owners cabin is beautiful and spacious. I wonder what the fuel capacity and range is? Brilliant!

    Lovely boat. You get a lot of boat for your money. I like the displacement hull setup. Makes the boat very useable in all conditions. I prefer this to very high speed yachts that would also use too much fuel. Stability and range mean more to me. My only issues are that there are too many stairs for my liking, which would hinder one of my family members too much. Additionally, I feel that the master aft cabin is too close to the engines space, without a watertight/noise absorbing door, so I suspect you might hear them if in the cabin while the boat is running. Though for it’s age, this is still a very nice boat and would suit a lot of people ! Thanks for the tour Nick 😊

      I thought that too when I saw where the door was but then I thought if I was the owner / helmsman I would be unlikely to be sleeping when the engines were running. Certainly a lovely boat and I like the idea of this non planing boating. Great videos thanks Nick

    Aft cabin boats are a great idea. Might want to do some work on it but even at 320k she'll beat every new boat. Although I prefer aft helm over fly bridge and interior helm. Gives you even more space inside. A perfect live aboard boat.
    The only thing missing from awuaholic now are dutch steel boats. Modern and classic ones. But sadly you can't really travel to tour them.

    Hello, there! I just want to let you know that I love your videos and have spent many enjoyable hours watching you talk about boats and yachts! I’m 22 but I’ve loved the sea all my life and my dream is to be able to afford one of these beautiful yachts someday so I can live in it. Thank you for showing us these lovely boats so we can aspire to own them one day!
    P.S. I’m very keen on expedition yachts and sea-going yachts.
    P.P.S. Sorry for my weird English!

    Nice video. Design a bit like a Carver.
    I like how room is not wasted in the engine bay but needs a bigger fridge and kitchen.

    Lovely boat and a great price. Needs a second refrigerator stowed somewhere but that’s easily fixed. The next owner will be very happy with this beauty.

    Cracking boat Nick, and you can tell it's been well looked after, as those engines look brand new. 👍😀
