If you want a serious boat to do some serious boating, you can’t go far wrong with this! Lovely woodwork inside & some nice features. What you might lose in ‘marina appeal’ you gain in ‘go anywhere’ ability! 👍🏻
This is my kind of boat, I don't want a gin palace with Ikea type drawers and cupboards, I want something solid and purposeful, so Nick, you have made my Sunday evening with this!
Nick this is my favourite boat so far this year, absolutely pushes my buttons, I love this style of boat and would buy one in a heartbeat, give me one of these over a gin palace any day. More of these please 🙏
Fantastic boat. Especially the ones built at bucklers hard. Took one out on sea trials and while we were out the weather became extremely rough with huge rolling waves. The boat handled it easily. Worked on a number of crafts including princess and sunseekers but there was something special about a Nelson
And a Hugh thanks for Nick for bring this very nice show of this Dale Nelson 38 I really like this boat and this set up with the 2 sleeping rooms one in the bow and the second in de aft cabine a nice galley please Nick do more of this kind of boats or smaller boat builders brand lovely Thanks again Nick a great show
Really nice yacht, you can see how the wood and finishes change over time but still look amazing and kept in tip top condition. Love the tour Nick, thank you.
Nick and His Brilliant Program. The Boat is Perfect for that Price it's like buying a Nice House but you can use it on water to. Thanks Nick you are always Brilliant 👍👍👍🚤🚤😎😎
A proper boat for an old man to go through the Aigian sea.. in the summers and specially the winters!! Remind me of the pilot-boats bringing pilots on the cargo ships I worked on years ago.. Can't go wrong with this one Nick... thanks!
Hi Nick, yippee, yippee just my type of relatable small ship galley dinette down, saloon up! Next best thing to an explorer boat/ship. Sensible curved doorway to heads in owners cabin, no sharp edges to crack your head on getting up in the night 😀 😎 Cheers DougT
What a superb bit of kit! It may not be a floating gin palace, but it’s still got plenty of room and comfort considering it’s sea keeping and all whether abilities. Brilliant boat and suitably brilliant tour, thank you Nick!
Just watched the MBY channel showing that new electric day boat from the USA for $300,000, about £280,000, I know which I would but if I had to make a choice. Nic 1-0 USA. That is gorgeous, a real 4x4 for the open sea cruising. A BIG thumbs up from me.
Love these Nelson boats... This is the best one yet! When I was a kid my Dad ran the pilot boat(s) out of Cowes and I remember being allowed to sleep aboard them when not being used and also going out to collect the pilot off the QE2 around The Needles in some pretty hairy weather! I'd love to have one as a live-aboard!
Having surveyed a large number of the range I can vouch for the exceptional build quality, the new 28, 36 and 40 are also amazing vessel's and all from the TT Arthur pen.
What a beauty. The dog's wasitsnames. No Poncy Gilligan's Island type cap for this boat. Maybe a sou'wester. Also, it does look very comfortable. Excuse me while I drool.
Hi Nick. You've had a few Seaward/Nelson on the channel and even sea trials. It's a commercial rugged go anytime vessel with comfortable interior. Forward looking radar for lobster/crab pots. I'm blown away with the space and curved wood design. Great video thanks 😊
Greetings Nick This is definitely a different type of boat. The joinery is amazing and from the looks of the video, still in great shape. For the size of the boat it is a proper sea keeping vessel. What a wonderful tour, Thanks. Cheers
Hi Nick. Great video again. What a lovely boat. How good is all that woodwork and I am amazed at what condition she is in for a boat of her age. Impressive. Just the type of boat for any adventure. Very spacious layout. A home from home. Thanks Nick. Best wishes.
38 feet, excellent sea keeping, great space for its length. What a boat! Chance to be a real sailor rather than a leisure boater. How smug could you feel? Great choice of tour Nick, thanks!
One reason I love Nordhavn so much is that trade off you mentioned. Function over form. This just gives me the same feeling.almost like Nordhavn. Loving all the work.
This boat seems perfect for the exploration side of water sports than the luxury travel. It's a tough little scamp to get into smaller channels and not have to worry about damage. Thanks for posting Nick.
Dale Nelson also made the police patrol boat in the Milford haven estuary of Pembrokeshire, I worked as a marine engineer and I used to service and maintain the police patrol boat which was also a 38 foot vessel. Brilliant boats and very easy to pilot and can handle some serious weather conditions.
It's the Mary Poppins of boats - practically perfect in every way. A lovely vessel to take across the channel without being too worried if the weather gets frisky before the return trip.
Hi Nick, yet another great video of a superb boat. However, with a range of only 200ish miles it's not really a serious go anywhere boat is it. Yes I understand as a pilot boat they are very capable and do the job very well, but range is not an issue with a pilot boat. Try taking this thing to Monaco or Italy from Southampton, Tyneside, Hull, Edinburgh, Belfast or Aberdeen and you'd spend more time filling it up than actually sailing on the high seas. The range actually prevents it from being a go anywhere serious boat unless your happy bobbing between southern England and northern France.
That's not mucking about! If I were to guess for a car equivalent, I'd say the original Mercedes G-Wagon. Not the urban bling-machine it's become, but the original army-purpose one. What a fantastic mini-explorer! Thanks for the tour!
Nick is so good at these tours and describing these boats to us, that he almost discouraged me with the speed and economy ratings. But then he swooped in with his brilliance and saved it with the “pushing through it rather than bumping over it” line. I really like this boat!!! WELL DONE AS USUAL NICK!! I love how he always says he will edit out the bloopers, but never does. Just for a little laugh!! 😆
You are the only one who does these *not* super yachts. You also only see here the smaller range of Princesses and others. Everyone oos and ahhhs over the X95, but in many ways that is a restricted boat. You can't take an X95 up the Seine to Paris, you could with this, or a V50. Thanks so much for these.
Thanks Nick! This is a LOT of boat for its size. This boat reminds me of "Down Easter" lobster boats of Maine. Or like my dream boat..MJM 53Z (outboard version)....Which I hope you can review one day.
Some, even many won’t agree but personally I think this is one of the very best older boats you’ve reviewed Nick. Super comfortable, it’d be a pleasure to spend time living aboard this beauty. Full of of old world charm and quality even if it’s not exuding rainfall showers etc etc. it’s a wonderful wonderful boat. Lucky next owner 😁
Thanks for showing us around this fabulous boat Nick! As always, a brilliant review. As much as I love the high end 'Yacht' tours, this certainly ticks all the boxes for me. What a superb vessel for UK waters! Superyachts in the Med... Pah! This is a real boat for all weathers.
I couldn't think of a better way to spend my Sunday afternoon all the kids out doing their own thing a nice big plate of chips sausage and beans and of course the latest "fantastic as always" installment from Nick absolutely blissful 👍
I knew nothing about boats but thanks to you I know a little more now. Is it strange that I prefer this one to many of the multi-million dollar superyachts you review? This just seems like a boat that would be fantastic to be on. It looks like a real boat to my untrainted eye! Thanks for your great videos
Nick - you say that boats either do more sea keeping or more accommodating focused but Nick, we both know, that's not ENTIRELY accurate, Exhibit A - the Nordhavn 80(and 86) which does both at such a high level - well lets be honest, it's perfection. Jokes aside, great work as always!!!
That navigator's display is great for navigating in dark or fog. You can have one set of eyes on the radar and the other set outside the boat! What a great little ship! Not much for watersports at anchor, though, with that long climb to/from the small swim (er, excuse me, bathing) platform. But there are plenty of other boats if that's what you need.
Proper boat. Says it all. Amazing wood joinery. The galley drawers are husky and high quality. Not pressboard covered in laminate. Excellent Review as always Nick!
Fantastic boat. Great job again. I'm so close to buying a boat and retiring. Your videos are helping me know what to look for. Your the best. Keep bringing these video's
Great boat with a lot of surprises given the type of boat it is. It would be a great family boat given the layout, but if I was picky I would want a separate shower recess in the Master. Otherwise, great boat with going to sea in mind. Cheers Nick for another great video, from Australia
Nick. There you go. What a great video. A boat to actually go boating with. Great job. Are there new boats the are more this style. Your reviews are very thorough and we love that. You learn about the boat instead of just fluff. Love to see more of this style and modern versions. By the by there is real wood on this one. Sure makes it solid. Thanks agsin
Deep joy 🥳 Aft cabins rule……. I would ditch the lower dinette in favour of a bunked cabin, enlarging the table upstairs for dining…… I’ve always thought on an aft cabin cruiser you only need one decent space for dining/lounging…… and, if you want a bit of solitude, cushions on a bed in one of the cabins is best. To me, travelling and living/sleeping onboard is key, not being a sun worshiper or party goer…….. bah humbug 🙂 I want this boat and sufficient capital to do my bunk cabin conversion…….. perhaps I should crowd fund 🤔
2x420hp!! For a 21 years old boat, it was very well powered for these years, when you are full for the holidays you need it. She looks really well care. For a refit its gonna be really more easy than an exotic model.
Sort of boat you could have lot of fun in, all in the name of serious business of course. Reminds me a bit of the ethos of the '70s Roamer triple-keel sailing yachts that were about this length and quite feasibly capable of Atlantic crossings, but in shorter range motor styling.
Good choice!
Nick this is my favourite boat so far this year, absolutely pushes my buttons, I love this style of boat and would buy one in a heartbeat, give me one of these over a gin palace any day. More of these please 🙏
Thank you Nick.......
For never editing out the mistakes!
And the boat reviews.
What mustakes? 😄
@@AQUAHOLIC Ba dum tsssh!
A very cosy boat, Nick. Lots of potential for the lucky owner. I missed this one. Thank you. 👍
A beauty if ever there was one. As a Cornishman who's been around cars and boats for 60+ years; this is what we call: "A Proper Job"
DIY done, work shirts ironed, first beer opened, watching a Nick boat video while waiting for Sunday roast to cook. Life is good! Cheers Nick 🍺
Awesome!
Beautiful woodwork, surprisingly spacious engine room and all on a sub 40' all weather boat! You can colour me impressed.
I used to work on the police boats in VT Halmatics in Portchester and they were SOLID!!!
Fantastic boat. Especially the ones built at bucklers hard. Took one out on sea trials and while we were out the weather became extremely rough with huge rolling waves. The boat handled it easily. Worked on a number of crafts including princess and sunseekers but there was something special about a Nelson

Excellent presentation.
One of the best boats you've ever shown. Fantastic!!!!
Really nice yacht, you can see how the wood and finishes change over time but still look amazing and kept in tip top condition. Love the tour Nick, thank you.
That might be the most impressive boat I have seen you review. I absolutely love that.
Nick and His Brilliant Program. The Boat is Perfect for that Price it's like buying a Nice House but you can use it on water to. Thanks Nick you are always Brilliant 👍👍👍🚤🚤😎😎
You're very kind
Hey Nick there is no better surprise than seeing a new Aquaholic video on a Sunday afternoon
Hi,i worked on nelson boats in the 70’s when serving with the Humber pilot service.they are brilliant sea boats.cheers Roly 🇬🇧.
I LOVE those 'drop and lock' drawers! A true testimony to ingenuity
of seafarers.
Wonderful, well made and well cared for little ship. I could easily see myself living on this boat for a couple of years.
A proper boat for an old man to go through the Aigian sea.. in the summers and specially the winters!!
Remind me of the pilot-boats bringing pilots on the cargo ships I worked on years ago..
Can't go wrong with this one Nick... thanks!

I didn't think I'd like it by the photo, but wow, its a great little boat! Really pleasantly surprised!
What a superb bit of kit! It may not be a floating gin palace, but it’s still got plenty of room and comfort considering it’s sea keeping and all whether abilities.
Brilliant boat and suitably brilliant tour, thank you Nick!
Bijou and full of charm, love it. Much prefer than any £4M Yacht.
Just watched the MBY channel showing that new electric day boat from the USA for $300,000, about £280,000, I know which I would but if I had to make a choice.
Nic 1-0 USA. That is gorgeous, a real 4x4 for the open sea cruising. A BIG thumbs up from me.
Oooo. A new backpack. Interesting how similar the color is from the older one!!!
Poole harbour had two Nelson's for pilot boats. Seen them take some serious heavy weather. Superb boats
Just back from a splendid time on a yacht, the next thing we see is another tour of a splendid boat. Thanks Nick and keep those videos coming🍀☀️😊
🧢
Thanks, will do!
Having surveyed a large number of the range I can vouch for the exceptional build quality, the new 28, 36 and 40 are also amazing vessel's and all from the TT Arthur pen.
Great video Nick.
It looks like a boat that is solid as a rock.
A boat you can sail in all kinds of weather.
It's faster than I expected.
Lovely boat, a Nick type boat for lazy day sailing days or more serious if needs be. Great review.
The quality shines through on this obviously well loved/well used boat, more of these older model/smaller builder reviews please 👍
Always love it when Nick posts a new video!!
Glad you like them!
Amazing boat! Looking at it, it's hard to believe it's 21 years old...it's in fantastic shape!
What a beauty. The dog's wasitsnames. No Poncy Gilligan's Island type cap for this boat. Maybe a sou'wester. Also, it does look very comfortable. Excuse me while I drool.

Really nice "I Wish I Had Money For This" boat. As always, great walking tour.

Loving all the work.
beauty is in the eye of the beholder.this nelson is 365 days a year boating and that is my bag.well done for finding her nick.😉
Gorgeous boat, you need to get a tour of a Dale 40 now to see how they have progressed!
I like the storage solution that is right at countertop level. Helps the area feel more open without the overhead cabinets.
Also Nick, thanks for the extra video. Great Sunday morning wake up!
Cheers

Saw one of these the last few days in Gibraltar - it stood out and looked fab even next to the larger yachts . beautiful.

yeah hes posted

Wonderful Tour as always Nick thanks for sharing
Hi Aquaholic. This boat is lovely. Another one for the Lottery wish list, Darn you !
Good luck!
Beautifully made. Not really my cup of tea but I can see the attraction
This is a boat to live with: wonderfully solid woodwork, cozy below, and enough room above.
Another great video Nick, love this little ship, my kind of vessel, all I need is the £250,000...
Haha. Maybe Nick could sub you?
Nick - you say that boats either do more sea keeping or more accommodating focused but Nick, we both know, that's not ENTIRELY accurate, Exhibit A - the Nordhavn 80(and 86) which does both at such a high level - well lets be honest, it's perfection. Jokes aside, great work as always!!!

Barometer spotted - it must be a serious boat :-) And I love the cabinetry, proper craftmanship.
ohh nick what another lovely boat
I was skeptical at first, but turns out to be a real gem!
Great video, thanks so much for showing us this one. A tremendous boat! Not for a weekend on the lake.
Wow just love the colour.. So rusty and traditional... Just amazing Boat Nick Sir.. and looking Dashing in blues Sir
Yes Sir!! I love it! This is so me....loved seeing this boat...thank you Nick!
My pleasure!!
Nick. another great tour. Your knowledge of floating craft is amazing. Thank you so much.
Thank you kindly!
Love the arched doorway.
One word: Liveaboard.
This is my kind of boat! I love seeing these.
Wow love this boat. Has full on nautical interior style. Brilliant. Designed for oceans. Thanks Nick 👍
My pleasure!
Thanks Nick. This looks perfect for the great loop
Proper boat. Says it all. Amazing wood joinery. The galley drawers are husky and high quality. Not pressboard covered in laminate. Excellent Review as always Nick!
Great review and what a lovely sea worthy boat that is.
Thanks Nick
My pleasure!
Another Way to cheer up my Sundays, another great video Nick 😀
Glad to hear it!
Fantastic boat. Great job again. I'm so close to buying a boat and retiring. Your videos are helping me know what to look for. Your the best. Keep bringing these video's
Best of luck!
Missed a few lately..got to check out the charter vids..what a serious piece of kit this is...
Enjoy! 🙂
Aloha; lovely vessel. Concur with the beautiful woodwork. Mahalo
That's a nice boat for serious boating in inclement weather. Nice wordwork throughout. Looks like the maid had a day off though 😁
Great boat with a lot of surprises given the type of boat it is. It would be a great family boat given the layout, but if I was picky I would want a separate shower recess in the Master. Otherwise, great boat with going to sea in mind. Cheers Nick for another great video, from Australia

Deep joy 🥳

Brilliant SUV for the sea. It will keep on keeping on!
Great boat and great socks, thanks for the vid!
Thanks for watching!
2x420hp!! For a 21 years old boat, it was very well powered for these years, when you are full for the holidays you need it. She looks really well care. For a refit its gonna be really more easy than an exotic model.
The instrument cluster appears to be set in Mappa burl. Nice.
Great video Nick this boat is all terrain watching you from San Francisco 😀😀😀😀😀😀
Hey there San Francisco!
Sort of boat you could have lot of fun in, all in the name of serious business of course. Reminds me a bit of the ethos of the '70s Roamer triple-keel sailing yachts that were about this length and quite feasibly capable of Atlantic crossings, but in shorter range motor styling.
I love that lower deck!
