Airtanker Action

August 10, 2013, on a day off. Drove to wildfire K20554 near Kamloops, British Columbia and watched my colleagues in action. Awesome!
These are NOT waterbombers!
Aerial firefighting with retardant air tankers, bucket helicopters and a birddog aircraft in a grassland, open conifer fuel type.
ASM: Birddog 052 (Turbo Commander 690, Air Spray 1967 Ltd).
Tankers: 445 and 447 (Convair 580, Conair Group Inc); 481 and 482 (L188 Electra, Air Spray 1967 Ltd).
Helicopters bucketing: C-GGSO (Bell 212, Yellowhead Helicopters) and C-GWCR (Bell 206L1, CC Helicopters).
No overdubs or soundtrack added. Some wind noise in the beginning, but wind abates and then you just hear planes, helis, and crickets.
Sequence is chronological starting around 1800hrs.

Thanks for the info on the planes themselves. I was watching U.S.fire suppression vids and didn't recognize any of the planes. I'm from Kamloops and it's nice to know what you're looking at in the sky!
