- This is a little background on my Chevy Cruze and it’s hidden feature! This might work on other models if so comment below, then like the video and subscribe for more updates with the car scene in this area thank you for watching!
I’ve had a 2011 Cruze for 6 years! I love the heck out of it and recently found out it’s even more fun to drive when I control the shifting. Its called DSC. (driver shift control) on your gear select its the plus minus. What you do is put the car in drive then push the shifter left. It is then an automatic with the capability of you choosing when to shift without a clutch. Best of both worlds. Happy driving!
Chris Turgeon yes and it’s also known as slap shift! It’s basically like having a sequential transmission without giving up the street friendly comfort!
Yea man i only drive my car in shift mode and I don’t be caring what nobody be saying
Yeah its kinda fun to use and a plus with 6 gears, but id rather have a stick shift instead.
I just recently bought a 2015 Cruze LS 6 speed manual, so far I love the car, needs a few things but nothing major
i got a 2012 chevy cruze 1.8L 6speed L
I just moved on to a 2012 Cruze w the 1.8 6-speed three pedal. Not fast but not dog slow. I hope it will last..it was $6500
95k miles
That's what my first Cruze was. Had lots of zip and was very reliable. My current (third Cruze) is a 2015 LT.
I seriously thought you were going to show a way to make it do that “best score” thing like a fuel economy Easter egg hack, but turning off stability control - same in every single car. Click once for traction off for wheelspin, hold for stability off for general spin.
Right
You were lucky to get the mods done. Now there's probably almost zero advertising for that kind of thing. Someone has to make their own parts and be able to do the reprogramming. For most of us common joes, not going to happen. Thanks Joe and Co.!
@@happysawfish yea but yet I kick myself everyday for selling it. Find a local tuner and get the dtc’s that beed turned off
I think the diesel emissions regs are crap but I wouldn't brag about certain modifications or at least just say it was performanced tune instead of talking math and subtraction.
I have a chevy cruze 2013, manual, 2.0 l diesel and its a realy fun to drive car
You must be across the pond?
2.0?
To all of you who say its not race worthy and not meant to race, it is if you make it, its about the driver, not the car its self
Thank you finally someone with some sense!
Right, its already got a turbo in it,just need to upgrade it and a few other parts.
Sucks a K&N cold air intake for mine cost 400,but it pays to play.
Anyone know how to access internal developer features in the menus?
What made you decide to sell it? I’m looking at buying a 2014 Cruze deleted and tuned with 104K miles on iy
It’s starting having to many electrical grimlins
How did u find the tune?
@@outofcontextsdf well I had it done way before the EPA started to take away our freedoms so it’ll be way harder now. I just called because I knew they tuned diesels.
How is this function?? where do i have to move him on the board or how do i make him appear do, i have an equal cross. 🤔🤔
????
???
You do know it also it has manual transmission mode, right?
Yea the slap shift its on all Chevrolet automatic cars after 2010
I see this a old video and you stated something about your plans with it. Curious if it is in a junk yard yet lmk.
I actually traded it off about two years ago when the stabiltrac was giving me issues coincidentally. I have no clue where it ended up though
I just got me a 2016 chevy cruze L only 93,000 miles nothing wrong w it all I had to pay was 6000
I got a big boosted 2012 Cruze ltRS
This thing is sick
I always do this method.
You still have this car? The stripes ain’t that bad.
Sadly no
I have a 16 Chevy Cruze and I hate it so much just trying to upgrade it so I can sell it
This works on all cars
Stabilitrack issues, turbo over/under boost issues, coolant pump as soon as buying, erg valve issues, thermosat and belt problems.
How bout this, 1 vavlve cover replacement that led to a valve cover leak because of 1 valve cover screw. Im on valve cover 12 now. These arent "my car" issues, most of these are common for these gen chevy cruze. Look each up.
Dont buy this car, anyone who is thinking about it, only reason i still have mine is cuz the way i made it look but on this inside(internals) its crap.
Its not a race car. I have a 2011 with a 6 speed standard trans.. im a racecar kind of guy.. this is not that, this is a family car. If u want a race car. U obviously have a job, save 2 grand and buy a used bmw 3 series.those are track worthy cars. These cruzez are ment to get to work and back. There NOT race worthy
TLDR; Having fun is bad, modifying cars is a waste of time, Benjamin Franklin is a witch
That diesel model will burn that 2011 cruze up, guarantee.
Haha I'll eat that 6spd up tuned upwards of 90hp above stock and wicked wheel in turbo
If you have the 1.4l turbo and swap out the factory pistons for some good ones, it can take a lot of power
The number on the older cruze was so much better!
To be completely honest I have no idea what you’re talking about because I’ve never driven or sat in any other cruze than that one….
@@Rags2Wrenches I I a 2016 cruze for a family car back a couple months ago.
When we were at the dealership I had even asked if they had any of the older Gen (your generation cruze)
I think I missworded my comment 🤣 when I say the older cruze was so much better as far as looks I mean YOUR generation of cruze looks way better.
Mine looks like a new body cavalier
@@ilpazzo9407 I agree with the looks im not a huge fan of the newer ones either the one like what I have looks way better!
What does tuned and deleted mean what does it entail
Noah Simmons change DPF to a down pipe delete the SCR and get a high flow muffler or delete it also deletes the DEF and all its hoses
Don't do it the noise will hear like if it has something inside the motor
@@mosescarranza2121
Don't do it or at least don't admit to doing it on a RUclips channel.
Neat, why would you want to turn it off specifically?
Kuunikal it basically turns off the the safety feature that keeps you from sliding off the road and it allows you to do a burn out in the burn out box at the drag strip! It also helps give you a better feel for the road! Please like share and subscribe thank you!
So that would be really bad to use in snow right??
Tazz Moore I mean if you having fun turn it off but their traction control is why they go so well in the snow
@@Rags2Wrenches you're going to race 150 horsepower? LMFAO
BEERS 'n GEARS no I never did I deleted it made more power still never raced it and then sold it.
Didn't even show me WHERE IN HELL IS THE TRUNK RELEASE BUTTON FROM THE INSIDE.
On my 2014 there wasn’t one
If the car is unlocked, the rubber button above the license plate will release it as if it’s a hatchback.
@@User-cb4jm I think mine failed or broke somehow, hasn't worked since I got it, only the key fob can open my trunk lol
@@RandoManFPV same for me with mine
every vehicle with DEF has problems
Diesel engine sound like crap...I have a regular 2011 and you don't even notice is running.lol
It’s actually a very healthy sounding diesel and back when I owned that car I was getting 80-90 mpg!
Do you still have this car?
Leroy Jenkins no I don’t I sold it last year kind wish I didn’t now.
@@Rags2Wrenches I've got one with 82k on it. I've contemplated deleting and tuning it. Good idea in your opinion?
Leroy Jenkins if you don’t have to deal with emissions then yes it nearly doubles you mpg and 50 not horses
@@Rags2Wrenches I've seen some of the numbers show up to 400 lb/ft torque after tuning. I bet it's fun to drive but probably hard on the stock trans
Leroy Jenkins the trans can hold quite a bit of power it’s no actually a GM trans its straight from Holden
You are a funny guy,,
Where did you get the sticker ?
Roxana N paragon vinyl
Rags 2 Wrenches thank you !!!
Never heard of a diesel.
the Driza yea it was limited production, only 6300 made in 2014! The diesel is now in the Cruze Impala and Trax now.
transmission suuucks
Who cares about what tires you have on your car
The same people that post on 3 year old videos
5 seconds not 10-15*
Have to been talking long?
Hello, can you send me a copy of the instrument menu compilation packet
涂龙龙 I honestly wish I could but I no longer have the car. I sold it about 10 months ago.
@@Rags2Wrenches Do you have any other gm vehicles
涂龙龙 just a 1978 Camaro but it completely torn down
I really need your help global key

Def is junk and completely worthless. Causes increase in fuel consumption and gives all kinds of issues. Which is good to know that it's not just on 18 wheelers that it's a pain.
Not Sure yea it ran so much better although I don’t have the car anymore I’m glad the new owner won’t have to deal with the problems I did!
I also own a diesel Cruze, from the factory it's only supposed to get like 42 mpg on the highway and with the def delete it can get 60+ mpg. Definitely worth it not to mention the reliable and peace of mind.
Race car?? Wt??
This was painful to listen to. There's a couple minutes I'll never get back.
@@brianpinckard1134 you have obviously no idea what satire is and we dont need your input or your views.
Diesel
2014 the worst year.
the Driza mine wasn’t bad other than it was a trial run year for the diesel
Not mine... 2014, have it 6 years now and only changed thermostat...regular oil changes at 4500 miles...still gets 35 mpg...love my 2014!
My 2014 just got totaled a week ago while it was parked. I can say that it was by far the best car ive ever owned. Got it at 97k miles and put on 98k more in 2 years for a grand total of 195k. The only things other than maintenance that needed fixed was a coolant leak that cost me about $300-400 and a wiring and fuse issue for another $100. I loved the smooth ride and reliability of it so I just bought a 2018 and from the test drive, it feels like the same type of handling which i like. The rental that i was given after my car got totaled, had such tight steering. The Cruze's handling seems so smooth to me. I could hug turns at high speeds with one hand on the wheel. Thats just my preference though.
