@@Aijaleena Bought car in spring 2013, winter 2014 the Turbo deteriorated from the inside out. The temperature sensors are faulty, I have had 3 different Mechanics change it out. The water pump melted and snapped in summer of 2015. 2017 my rear tire speed sensors failed, most likely due to being completely exposed directly under brake lines. In the past 2 months my thermostat failed and now needs to be replaced. 90% of the engine seems to be made of very shitty plastic. Instead of googling Chevy cruze look up (Chevy Cruze known engine failures)
I have a 2012 Cruze LS 6 speed manual. I use it for Uber, so I basically beat the hell out of it, with city driving. I bought it used, with 118 thousand miles on it. Now I have over 200 thousand miles on it and no engine issues whatsoever. Some weekends, when I work a full 12 hour day, I drive it for about 400 miles. (city driving, stop and go) I easily put over a thousand miles on it, on a weekly basis. I can't believe, how well these cars were made. I'm still blown away, how reliable it is. By far, this is the most reliable car, that I've ever had. That's a big complement to say, because I've owned more than 25 cars. All kinds.. I'm 53. I put up my Chevy Cruze up against any car on the market right now. I bet, my Chevy would beat them all, as far as reliability. I totally love it! I also get a lot of complements on it from my Uber riders. They also love riding in it. Way better than a boring Toyota Prius.
I deliver pizzas in my 2014 manual. It has power. The acceleration is amazing and it's just a solid car. I love it sooo much.

Some people like me have had a problem with the 2014 chevy cruze ltz. When you leave your car parked for a couple days without driving or starting it the battery will be dead when u try to start it. Nothing wrong with the car, it's just one of those things that Chevrolet won't recall or fix because it's not a safety hazard.
Great review and love mine. I have a 2015 LT with all the bells and whistles including back up camera and mylink. I had a 2013 and traded up a couple of years and these cars are just fantastic!

I drive an 2012 LS manual. With 118K on it. It really does everything well. I've driven suv's and trucks most of my life. Its the best handling, braking, riding, turning, car I've ever driven. Because its a manual. The gas mileage is very impressive.
I like manuals just got a 2012 ltz for a second car and at least the automatic has a manual mode that lets you shift and downshift basically like a manual without a clutch. Interesting feature that doesn't make sense for this car but I like it.
I have the 2014 manual. Its the best driven car i ever had. And man does it have power.
The fuel economy on mine is pretty alright for where I live. We got a lot of hills so fuel mileage is pretty tough to keep consistent for me. Did my first semi-long highway drive a week ago and I got the fuel economy to about 6.8L/100km, which is about 34.5mpg. Pretty impressed with that comparing with my old Pontiac G5 that could only get about 9.0 (26.1 mpg) on the highway. My current city driving mileage is 8.6 (27.3mpg), which is still better than my old car. I may do my own video like this on my channel soon.

All of the ones you mentioned, plus the back seat folds down for extended trunk space.. the oil percentage indicator so you get the oil changed when due..but definitely the handling is awesome!! Love my 2014 cruze!
I have 2014 cruze and it's also got the folding rear seats, the trunk unlocks from the fob and I love my cruze! And I get 35 to 36 mpg and it tells me tire pressure and when I need to get the oil changed!

I used to own a 2012 Mazda 3, 2.0L 5 spd auto and had an opportunity to drive the Cruze for a few days as a rental. Even though both cars claim similar horsepower I much preferred the Cruze. It was much more responsive at lower RPM and also sounded much better. My Mazda needed at least 4K rpm to get get going, in the Cruz there was good power available from 2k. It also felt like a quality car similar to the Mazda.
I got the 2015 and I agree I truly love my Cruze is my baby
Yeah I love my Cruze and always blown away by the features the looks but now 3 things about my Cruze 16 months later
1.coolant leaks
2. Oil leaks
3. Pcv issue that affects 100% of all crises
I do love my Cruze and I do plan to keep it until it dies aka unrepairable

Wow, you're the only other person I've seen that knows how to start a Cruze. Just touch that key position and let go right away. It starts itself!

Got 2 black Cruze sw with 1.7L diesel engines, Got the first One 2 years ago and has no problems. Drives 50000km per year, my wife drives the other one and drives 60000km per year. Great cars built on the Opel platform

Love my Cruze had her 6 years now. Every thing you say i agree with. My only grip would be the turning circle is not good especially if your parking in tight spaces on full lock wheels scrape inner wing when hard over. It’s quite a largish car by uk standard fix this and i will be first in queue for new one. Cheers all cruze lovers out there.

I have the 2015 cruze and I can fit a wheelchair in the trunk. It IS huge. It saved me from having to get an SUV or van.

I'm deciding on what car to get when the time comes to replace my current vehicle (2006 Chevy Cobalt, 134,700+ miles). I believe I'll go with the Cruze. It's the direct replacement for the Cobalt, so I figured, why not?

My buddy had a 2013 non turbo and though very slow, i agree the car was really impressive in corners. he bought a sonic to replace it and I have to admit the cruze would walk all over the sonic in cornering testing.
I have a 2016 and same color as your 2012..... have had some coolant leaks as they are saying about this cars imperfections and I do not like that the sun visor doesn’t quit cover the sun( doesn’t come low enough) I’m 5’9” and still the sun hits my eyes but that being said.... I do agree with all the things you posted in this video especially the mileage- I commute 80 miles a day and 6 days a week for work and I only have to fill it up once a week 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼Great great mileage

You can also connect it to an alexa and if you have remote start you can get alexa to start your car too

The truck button on the truck fail a lot, but they are cheap to pick up a new one. There's also a list of 10-12 recalls on them

Nope, highly recommend against this car. Go with a Honda or Toyota.
@@PaulsPlace oh man, I got it already but it was from an aunt that barely use it (9k miles!!! ) it's automatic so I hope there are not that many issues... Planning to keep it for couple of years though due to mix reviews precisely... Yours what was the main issue?
@@carloscruz-sz4qo mine just fell apart. i had 73k miles on it when i got rid of it and went through 3 transmissions, water pumps, electrical issues, oil valve cover leaks, etc.
the Ls has the 1.8 right? thats a better engine.
I have a 2014 and I am so glad I paid for the warranty. Its paid for the car and then some. Oil leaks, valve gasket, window regulators, and turbos. Make sure you put quality 91 octane in your Cruze if you have the RS. I can't wait to get rid of this thing!

Any problems with remote windows? My driverside windows motor died. Had to pay to get it pulled up. I need the damn thing to work. It's always sumthin with this car.😔

Wish I could say the same. Mine is a 2015, and we've had a broken water pump, water coolant outlet, the inlet water coolant piece, amoung other problems. I wouldn't buy a cruze again. But it is a nice looking car. The only really good thing about it

my 2011 is still my love. Until now 2020 There is no other cars I feel it can replace my car. There must be s,things to drag me back to the cruze ex: one time Mercedes brand new one on sale I like its look and styling but when it comes to a trunk, WTF, It a joke!! you know when compaired to the one in my chevy cruze ,and the Mercedes is very small and stuffy when you actualy get in and sit in the car. It can't be compaired to my roomy space in my chevy cruze. Even though, the cruze's engine is not perfect, not that economical and not the fastest car and all that other engine stuffs, but it is not problems for me at all because I am not a racing car kind of person anyway.
Love my car, feel happy every time I drive it , or just look at it. 😁

I have a 2012 cruze Ltz fun to drive it has had its issues but all have been minor. Bought with 101000 miles my wife and I have put about 50000 more miles it's been good so far
EXCELENTE CHEVROLET CRUZE, MUY BUEN AUTO, SALUDOS DESDE RANCAGUA CHILE.
I fit a 300 pound table in the back of mine and it fit with room to spare. I didn't even need to put the seats down.
I just recently bought a 2014 cruze lt rs and tbh i like driving it better than my 2014 ltz silverado

This made me SAD!! I had my car since 2014 and some dummy runs the red light on 6/18/2020 and hits me !! Air bags deployed and everything !!!!! She’s totaled and I miss her already 😢😢😢
Same we bought ours in 13’ with 32 miles on her drove her all OVER this country (worked for the railroad) and a week before thanksgiving last year some one went through a blind intersection and totaled her out 🤬 I was so pissed she just got over 150k 😤 oh well I’m sure to get another one soon she was a blast to drive

I'm looking at buying a 2012 rs cruze just like yours but it's a 6 speed manual transmission. with 37,000 miles on the car. do you think I will transmission issues with a stick shift cruze than the automatic?
Mine is a fluke, but I strongly encourage you to go newer if you can. Like 2014+.
Usually sticks have less problems, because there is less to go wrong. It's a MUCH simpler system without any electronics and complicated parts in the tranny itself. Once major reason why most Europeans don't want Automatics.
Eric w I only drive manuals. I hate automatics. However, I would never buy a used Cruz with the six speed. Why? Because the last guy who drove your Cruz probably tore out 2nd gear. The reason is simple. GM made the mistake of not putting a close ratio transmission in these cars. What they opted for is a so called "progressive" transmission. It has a huge jump from 1st to 2nd (very slow shift!) and then as you go up the gears the jumps get progressively smaller until 5th to 6th is a tiny fast jump. You might need that in a work truck, but it is stupid in a car with a 6 speed. Nobody wants to wait for that big jump from 1st to 2nd, so they just jamb it. My Cruz 6 speed manual will last the life of the car with no problems because I am a pro long haul driver and I simply wait for that first slow shift into 2nd. I do get little old ladies give me the finger pulling away from lights though. Too bad. GM has had so many bad reviews on their manual transmission that they are giving it up in 2019. They could have solved it with a fast shifting close ratio transmission. When your 2nd gear piles up go to GM and show them this e-mail.

I Like My 2012 ECO Chevy Cruze 6 Speed Manual
I own a 2012 Chevy Cruze LT, and I've always noticed that my average mpg is 22.0 mpg since I bought the car 6 months ago, which is below its city rated mpg, I live in a suburban neighborhood and commute to college via highway, any ideas why my mpg might be so low?
That's a good question. How many miles are on the vehicle?
WRB about 70,000. I have a friend with the same exact model one year newer and they're getting an average 31mpg as well
Driving habits? Tire condition? What fuel type do you use?
WRB sorry I didn't see this lol, my tires are relatively new and their air pressure is normal, I use the normal most standard fuel type and I have a bit of a lead foot, but I've been experimenting the last week keeping my rpm under 3000 at all times with negligible improvement in fuel economy

Best handling car I’ve ever had. No complaints. Any issues I’ve had were covered under warranty. Water pump, water outlet and PCV valve wore out. That requires replacing the cam shaft cover(PCV valve)Power train covered it.

Just bought this car used at 77,000 miles, and my engines screwed lol. It’s saying the engines overheating and i have no idea what to do about it. Gonna take it back to the dealership and see what they can do. I literally had him for like 4 days ☹️
Make sure you check the thermostat. And keep cooling fluid in your car. Do oil changes when due.
It may be a head gasket issue so change the whole motor.
