Installing a reverse camera is a fairly quick task if you're already changing your head-unit to one that is compatible with a reverse camera. Thank you for putting this video up! Just purchased and set up a dashcam that came with a reverse camera. I had to search for ideas on where to start when it comes to hooking it up. I know this video is old but the Cruze always leaves the reverse lights on at night when you lock it up for a few seconds. Would the back up camera activate if that happened or is that only when you actually put it into reverse?
9:50 Chevy implemented their infotainment system in every vehicle starting in 2016, that included backup cameras. All new cars require backup cameras regardless of "class".
my 2016 cruze does not have a backup camera nor the center entertainment screen referenced in the video

@@anthonydavis1453 Do you have a Cruze Limited? If so it is a older model sold as a 2016 car but is actually a first generation Cruze thus it did not implement the newer infotainment system. As of May 1st, 2018, all new cars in the United States must come equipped with backup cameras. The law requiring these cameras started its phase-in process in May 2016 and completed enforcement May 1st, 2018.

Could you use this on a 2012 Chevy Sonic Lt?
If you don't splice the reverse camera to the reverse lights, will the reverse camera function pop up on the touchscreen when you put the car in reverse? Or does it have to be spliced for that to happen?
Still shows it but says "No Signal" if it isn't wired in

Hey quick question, my camera came with a video cable with another red wire and was wondering if you had to do anything with something similar? Or did you just have to connect the video cable to the head unit and camera ?
Connect video cable to head unit, wire power wire and ground wire to reverse light wires

Probably! Same generation. If you do a Seicane head unit like this one they ask for a photo of your dash and your full car model so they can make sure it's right for your car.
The video was great except for the part when you said "into the head unit area" which is very vague
Didn't really want to rip the dash apart for this video. I'm expecting people have looked into head units if they are going to do this mod and know what it will look like. 🤷🏼♀️
